November Stay with Friends - Traveled from the U.S.
Upon arrival at the VRBO, we noticed much of the décor to be removed from the walls and placed in an unlocked closet beneath the stairs. The fridge smelled horrible, had 50-100 dead gnats, and was not cold. Even after cleaning the entire fridge and shelves individually with soap twice, the smell persisted. Later in our stay, the fridge stopped cooling and spoiled over 100 pounds (£) worth of groceries. The door frame on the second floor was broken as if someone had forced entry. There was mold in the shower. The bedrooms were adequate; however two of the three beds were extremely uncomfortable. There were packages from eBay and mail being delivered to the door of the flat during our stay, which is a considerable liability. In addition to this, doors were broken, the sofa bed was damaged, the TV remote did not work so we were unable to use the amenities included in the price, and small maintenance issues (like a broken door stop) persisted as a nuisance and safety hazard as screws and nails were embedded in the carpet. After our departure, the VRBO host claimed we caused a slew of damages to the property which were in poor condition when we arrived. The cleaning crew took photos of the supposed damages and claimed this was a result from our stay which led us to believe a cleaning crew had not come to the property to clean or inspect before our arrival. We had high hopes for this property which boasted great views, spacious areas, but it came with a high price, we were let down
