Beyond the filled capacity of woofers, interns and guests in the summer, it's quiet here in the forest. You can hear the wind blow and the rush of streams all around us. As I am fond of saying .. "there's nothing to do here." Of course there are lots of games and conversation to be had in the Hygge Hall, trails to hike, swimming hole etc, but we have little access to technology so that we can all unplug.
The land is rugged, steep mountainous terrain and our agroforestry orchards and garden have a permaculture emphasis. No, we don't grow pot (like everyone else in the emerald triangle) and in fact one of our community agreements is to live free of chemical dependencies, like caffeine, sugar, and drug and the like, (you DON'T have to do this, too). Our orchards and gardens have a created beauty and abundance -- feel free to forage and nourish yourself. We share.
