Peaceful Views-Gasquet Cozy Cabin 1.5acres. TRAEGER, Smith River, Redwoods, Wifi

I want to start off by saying we have exceptional ratings on both VRBO and Airbnb with a 10/10 for communication and easy access into the home. Donna was very spiteful and should not have had the option to rate our lovely home to begin with. Donna made a 2-night reservation (minimum stay requirement) over 3 months in advance. Even-though she did not have any reviews, I accepted it anyway since her message seemed genuine. The next day I received an inquiry from “Donna” using a different email and name, requesting an adjustment on her 2-night stay to a 1-night stay. I politely explained we have a 2-night minimum and suggested that she either change her dates to better fit their schedule, or cancel the reservation and find another home that fits her needs better. Really no big deal. The policy I have set is a full refund if cancelled up to 2 weeks before the date. I then told her to message me on her booking email, as that is the email I will provide information to her on. She continually stated she did not know what I meant. I suggested 3 different times for her to contact VRBO to have them explain the platform better. I contacted VRBO myself because I had concerns about her trying to scam me. They suggested I only contact her via her booking email, since that email is secured with her booking contract. I did not receive any other communication from Donna within that 3-month wait; therefore, I just assumed she worked out the dates and all was okay. The day before Donna’s check in, I sent a lengthy check in message to Donna’s booking email, which provided her with the home address, the temporary door code to the house, as well as other helpful household information. VRBO also sends the same message to the guests, via the booking email, 3 days prior to the reservation. The day of her reservation, Donna and her group arrive at the home as we noticed on the external cameras. Therefore, she did receive the address to the home, as well as the code to the door. Once guests arrive, we put the cameras on mute. I later receive a message via facebook from “Donna” saying, “I want a full refund. We showed up, I rang a bell, no one answered.” Completely confused with the situation and how she found me on facebook, I quickly located her number through VRBO and attempted to call her. She did not answer, phone went straight to voicemail. I looked on my cameras and she and her guests were on our deck for a total of 3 minutes and were acting “confused” and stating immediately how they found a hotel down the street. My phone number and email address are listed in VRBO, yet, she never contacted me. She never contacted VRBO either. Donna was upset I did not accommodate her 1-night stay and she became vengeful. What a bummer, because my first thought when I saw them exit the car was, “They are really going to love their peaceful stay in the Cozy Cabin.”
