Jeckyll Island is excellent for quiet family vacation. The house is on the water, but I would not list it, as a "Beach front house" . It is a house right the water with great views. And very close to the beach. The neighborhood sits behind a sea wall. It appears, through 2020 the seawall and adjacent beach line is under construction allowing NO direct access to the water or (the limited low tide) beach. You will be driving to get to the public access beach area - which is great by the way... I don't see how, even after the construction the beach will be accessible there. the tide stayed right up to the sea wall during most of our stay.
The management company is fantastic! Tad was extremely responsive to a strange tankless water heater issue in the upstairs shower. Water would intermittently stop after about 7-8 min of shower time. He sent a plumber by - but of course it did not act up. Understanding that plumbing problems are sometime difficult and time consuming to trace down, we left it alone and just took quick showers or used the downstairs shower.
The house is perfect. I envy the owners of the house - they have impeccable taste in decor and provided everything. Only neutral comment is change out the electric stove with gas - that surface top thing was a bear to cook on. And I would advise guests to bring extra towels, but otherwise, we did not find anything missing that we needed. A+ on the house, neighborhood and vacation.
