My husband, 25-year-old daughter, and I just returned from 8 days at Lady on the Beach. It is a splendid place to stay in Seaside. Seaside makes for a wonderfully chill vacation. Having access to the excellent gym, pool, and private beach is a huge bonus. The location of the cottage is perfect: one block from Central Square and three blocks from the beach. Near enough to access everything quickly but in a residential, quiet area. The house was perfect for us. The living room has comfortable sofas and the set-up is equally good for conversation and tv viewing. There is a cook’s kitchen with a Viking stove, Sub Zero fridge and excellent All Clad pots and whatever tools you could possibly need. The different dining options (at the counter or table) were great. The beds are high quality and very comfortable. The ac and ceiling fans worked well. The cottage is adorably decorated, well maintained, and looked and smelled fresh upon our arrival. The negatives are comparatively minor. It was a bit of an annoyance to have to bring our own beach towels (given we were flying from Illinois) and felt likewise that a beach house could provide beach chairs (the cost of a weekly rental on the beach is very steep). The house information said that the house had a smart tv with access to Netflix etc. but after struggling to find it, we learned from calling the rental agent that it had been turned off. Also, the outdoor BBQ grill was filthy and encrusted with an overflowing grease pan that spilled on my husband when he opened the cover. As I said these negatives were minor and in no way diminished the charm of the cottage or the pleasantness of our stay. I highly recommend this cottage. We are already discussing when to return.
