Welcome to Ocean Retreat - one of the finest and largest properties on The Bay Filey - featuring downstairs bedroom, shower room, huge kitchen, balcony, patio, log burner and stunning master suite - this is truly a special home from home and really is suitable for "something special". Fully refurbished to a high standard in Spring 2023 this is a lovely property and something special.

Enter Ocean Retreat through the side porch door into the spacious hallway with cloaks storage. To the right is a king size bedroom with patio doors and ensuite shower room.

Continue across the hallway through to the living room. There is a luxury fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, dishwasher, two ovens (one fan and one combi/microwave), plate warmer, range hob, under counter fridge and under counter freezer, wine fridge, microwave and washing dryer.

Off the kitchen is a dining area with plenty of room for 8 people which leads to the stunning lounge area with log burner, multiple large comfortable sofas and bifold doors onto the large patio with seating and amazing access to The Meadows edge.

Upstairs there is the stunning main bedroom suite with a super-kingsize bed, with an ensuite shower room, seating area with bifold doors onto the balcony with views to The Meadows and beyond. There are 2 further bedrooms one as a king and one as a twin with single beds - these share a large family bathroom.

There's a parking space for two cars and other spaces nearby for further vehicles.

Wonderful surprise in Filey!

What a wonderful holiday village and gorgeous house! Spacious, tastefully decorated, all the conveniences (and off street parking), near a beautiful coast with lots to do nearby! Loved our trip!

Lovely home from home

We enjoyed a relaxing last minute 4 night break at Ocean Retreat. The property was as described and worked very well for a multi generational family. Plenty of space to socialise and eat together with nice outdoor space too. Excellent service from Anchor Bay from booking to promptly sorting the odd little problems that arose.

Great space for our family holiday with Great Grandma and two small kids. Ideal with bedroom downstairs. Good location with easy access to Scarborough or Bridlington. Short walk down onto beach.

Family weekend away

Had a great multi-generational weekend. The property met everyone’s needs. Lots of space to move around, loved the different seating areas. Beautiful decor throughout. Will definitely book this accommodation again. Can’t wait ‘til next time. (Egg cups would have been useful for us)

Lovely home from home

Absolutely lovely home and decorated well. Plenty of options for seating in the lounge, either for everyone to gather together or separate chairs for a quiet read. Loved the games cupboard, plenty of options for an evenings entertainment. The kitchen is large and has everything you need to make anything from a cuppa or to cook a full Sunday roast. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed. It was great to sit on the outdoor furniture with a glass of wine in the evening. All 3 generations of our party had a great time.

Lovely

My 94 year old mother, my sister's and I had a wonderful time. The space is incredible and the downstairs ensuite was perfect. We had amazing weather in November, too

Weekend away with te granchildren

The property was better than expected and the photos do not do it justice . Absolutely fabulous house with so much space and everything you need for break . Spotlessly clean yet family friendly. Regular communication from the owner kept us up to date. Overall excellent in every aspect.

Beautiful house

The house is absolutely beautiful we had a lovely stay adult time away although it would also be ideal for families with children as long as they respect the property as it’s truly amazing slight issue with the cleaning as other customers left empty crisp packets and nuts under the bed. Didn’t report it as I’m sure it would have been rectified straight away didn’t stop us from having a relaxing holiday can’t wait to return again

Great family break

From youngest (7 months) to oldest … we all loved this property. Complete envy over master bedroom. There was everything we needed and more. Tiny hiccups sorted within hours of arrival. Will definitely be back. We used all the on site facilities, the arcade was ok and quiet enough for youngest, although several machines didn’t work. Sorry the cafe was not open at all, as that would have been a bonus during our rainy week.

Great end to the Christmas holidays

We are regulars to the Bay and have stayed in several of the large properties now. First time at Ocean Retreat and what a fabulous house. Ocean retreat has everything you need! Plenty of space, very tastefully decorated and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. It has very comfortable beds, kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of crockery etc (heads up no colander though). House is in a nice quiet spot, I have knocked 1 star off for location as personally prefer to be at the other end closer to the beach, but it certainly wouldn't put me off returning. The only minor criticism I can give is that the house was quite dark. There are very few ceiling lights and the wall switches control the table lamps of which there are a lot. It wouldn't be a problem in summer but during winter when its dark early, some parts of the house were quite dark. We had a wonderful stay over New Years and even managed to catch sight of the Northern Lights, was a lovely end to the Christmas holidays. I would definitely like to return!! Booking through Anchor Bay and communications were fabulous as always.

Cleanliness Disappointing

The property is beautiful. However, it clearly had not been cleaned before we arrived. There was jam on the counter, corks under the kitchen table, crisp packets and nuts under beds, lollipop sticks and papers in drawers, plates in the cupboards still greasy and soiled. Outdoor cushions had been left out so when we arrived they were sodden so we could not use them all week, despite our best efforts to dry them. No welcome hamper despite comments book advising they had been provided previously (we asked the cleaning manager and he said they had none left). Feedback provided to cleaners since I returned home but no acknowledgment received. Very disappointing because otherwise this is a beautiful house and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Hi Karen Thanks for taking the time to send a review. I am afraid we have challenged this as untrue and unfair. The other reviews for this portray say it all and you yourself say you wouldn't hesitate to return. We ask all guests (in fact it is stipulated in our terms and conditions because we cant correct these afterwards) to report any issues on arrival and you didn't. You chose to report this nearly a week after departure via a review. Not once did you communicate with myself or the owner of the property. We had checked the property prior to your arrival and it was immaculate. We have no way of knowing if the issues you describe were caused by one of your guests due to it being reported so late. The welcome hamper isnt advertised and is subject to availability and was something a previous guest did receive - we are sorry you didn't but this wasn't part of your holiday and would have been an additional gift to you. We are glad you would return to the property which is reflective of the amazing property and facilities and the levels of cleanliness.

The property is part of The Bay Filey Holiday Village which is located on the fabulous Yorkshire Coast. The property you are viewing is independently owned but located within The Bay Holiday Village. The village and its facilities are operated by Away Resorts.

A short walk away from this property are all of The Bays facilities which include

- Choice of 4 walks to The Bay Beach (5 mile long) with 3 walks being direct beach access and traffic free!
