Great house in a great setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The setting was in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood buy located near Chatham, restaurants, etc. The distance to two different beaches made for an easy walk or short drive.We would recommend this to future travelers.

We stayed at the house in South Chatham for 5 nights in August. Was happy to find a property where a full week stay wasn't a requirement! Bit of a puzzle to find the house as it's located on a narrow unpaved road, but the property is spacious and the amenities were great and as advertised. Communication from Laurie were prompt and helpful, with great suggestions for what to do and places to eat. As other reviewers have mentioned, one of the bedrooms is an open "loft" style and has no doors or air conditioning, so something to keep in mind. Location is ideal for a quick drive to downtown Chatham or the local beaches.

Great House

Cozy spot!

Laurie was a great host and the home is incredibly comfortable and cozy. We stayed in the off season, during February with another couple and had a great time cooking in the full sized kitchen, sitting around the fire place, and enjoying walks to the beach.

Family summer vacation

Everything was great and as advertised. Extremely clean and well appointed, and in a fabulous location (very convenient access to beaches). Very comfortable. Nice backyard with tons of open space to hang out and play. Would definitely recommend!

Fun wedding weekend

Great location - easy walk to beach and less than a 10 minute drive to Wychmere Beach Club where the wedding took place. We only wish that the outdoor shower was enclosed and that the third bedroom was a room instead of a “loft” open space. Would have offered a little more privacy for the 4 adults in our family. Awesome walks and beaches in this neighborhood!!

Lovely home on a quiet street close to the beach

We enjoyed our quick getaway for a few days at this lovely home on a quiet street close to the beach. Check in was easy and the manager was accessible and helpful. The small beach closest to the house was a quick drive or a reasonable walk away. A great spot for the kids to dig in the sand and jump in the waves! Because of the circumstances (COVID) we did not venture out, but it was easy to get groceries delivered and the house was well stocked, so we did not have to!

Great base of operations for a week of shore fishing

I had friends from Helena, Montana, Montrose, Colorado, and Providence, Rhode Island join me for a week of flyfishing for striped bass all around Chatham. This house was great -- old Cape Cod, comfortable, and well equipped. We had spectacular weather most days so we ate on the deck. Kitchen was adequately equipped and we ate at home three of the five nights. Convenient to South facing beaches like Pleasant Street, Red River, and Ridgevale, and a short drive over to Hardings, Pleasant Bay, etc. Laurie McCann was very responsive when we had questions (even though some of them were dumb because we were sleep deprived from fishing at odd hours).

Very nice home, but it does need some upkeep and attention. These are a few items I think could be addressed by the owner for themselves and their guests: Noticed carpenter ants - should spray or check for moist rotten wood around home; air fans are very dirty; cobwebs are all around the home; yard is overgrown with weeds in the grass at ankle high and tree limbs hitting your car as you drive in; dust and dust bunnies on the upper floors rooms; dirty hot water that mineralized the tub but after a continuous flushing we made it acceptable - might try to do that before guests come.

Lovely and comfortable...too short

We stayed at Laurie's house for a long weekend in June. It ended up being rainy and the water at the beach was too cold for swimming but the house was warm, welcoming, and had everything, aside from food. The kitchen had everything we needed, including lots of plates and bowls so we wouldn’t need to constantly wash. I love their stove! I miss having a gas stove. We enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement and going through the books. The kids played hide and seek and looked at all the knick knacks and toy treasures throughout the house. There was a reference binder with things to do around Chatham, which was super useful and Laurie told us about the minor league game going on the day we arrived. We enjoyed our stay and we hope to come back to explore and relax.

Beautiful House, Could be more comfortable

The check in process and stay was overall nice. The location is fantastic, you can easily walk to the beach through a cute and quiet neighborhood. The house has ample common space in the downstairs and kitchen appliances were all in good shape and working order. There are actually two bedrooms and another room that is more of a loft (open to stairs to downstairs). The house wasn't as comfortable as it could have been due to the heat: There was one AC unit in one bedroom window, but it really couldn't compete with the afternoon sun. This is fine if you plan to be outside during the heat of the day. Better AC would make a significant difference. The house was clean but needed some upkeep. The bathrooms had some mold (minor, but it was there) and the house itself presented a few problems that ended up needing to be remedied during our stay. The issue was resolved and I don't expect it would recur so I won't detail it here but better upkeep could have prevented it in the first place. The cleanup and checkout procedures are onerous when you consider the $225 cleaning fee and they are not easy to execute: We had considerable issues with the washer and dryer in the basement. The washer wouldn't fully spin out which made it take much longer. It seems like a house that was purchased to be used exclusively as a rental property and is kept as such. While the host is polite, she was at first a little dismissive of my concerns.

Quiet, Central Location

This was a great place to explore Cape Cod from as a home base and it suited our needs well. There is plenty of space in the house to spread out and it is in a nice, quiet neighborhood.

Fabulous Cottage!

We had a wonderful weekend. The cottage is beautiful, very clean, and welcoming. We had great communication with the owner. Great location - very close to Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking. No problems at all and we would love to return again.

Great vacation hideaway!

We loved our location in Cape Cod with this beautiful home, located just a few minutes drive to Chatham. Situated off a small private drive with several other homes, it felt nicely secluded with lots of trees on the property. Our wonderful host Laurie was always available to answer questions and offer suggestions.

Perfect Cape experience

This was a beautiful home to spend a few days enjoying the Cape. It was very comfortable and inviting, and we were sad to leave. We loved being so close to beaches, which were an easy walk for the children. We went to a lovely Mass Audubon site in Wellfleet as well. Laurie and family were so kind and responsive. We are grateful we were able to stay here!

I've lived in Chatham nearly my entire life. My husband and I built this house in 2004. Building was unplanned but proved to be a life changing decision. Built my way with Marvin true divided light windows, an antique newel post, wide board old-growth eastern white pine floors throughout the house. Sun streams down on our private, generously sized 1/2 acre parcel. This property is an example of dreams that really do come true. We've got beautiful oak trees and pine trees. Waking up in this house is pure delight. Walk downstairs in the morning to this super sunny kitchen, grab your coffee or tea, sit on the deck for a few minutes and then hit the old fashioned seashore road for a morning stroll on the beach which is just 3 blocks away. NATURE INSPIRED setting featuring fox, red tailed hawk, osprey, deer. Light, bright & breezy. Parking is free at two of the nearby beaches!!

This is quintessential Chatham!! You can see ships in Nantucket Sound, smell the salt air, and hear the waves in the distance at night. Even on a cloudy day, you'll want to walk to the beach. SHELL COLLECTING is FANTASTIC here and quite possibly the best in Chatham from this area. We are just 2 miles to freshwater swimming at beautiful Schoolhouse Pond should you prefer a change. You can easily walk to Drifters Cafe and Pisces Restaurant for lunch, dinner and to the darling decades long standing shop, Christmas Joy! All are just 1/2 a mile away. Surf not too rough, just right!
