Thank you so much for the nice note --- I also find that the historic downtown is pretty and appealing in so many ways...she has such heart. The fact that the Autumn Cottage is just one block from all Bend's goodies, and yet nestles on a quiet street with just 4 houses, makes her pretty perfect. Come back soon!

Yes we love that location too ---the historic downtown at your finger-tips is priceless. We are very proud of the fact that this 1917 mill-workers cottage has been restored so beautifully and feels so warm and welcoming --- glad you enjoyed that charm too! So sorry about the bathtub draining slowly. I wish you had called me to take care of that minor problem the first night. (That's the best thing about having local, hands-on owners) Rest assured its on my list for tomorrow and will be fixed in no time. Thanks again!

We are so glad you enjoyed the cottage! We have never had ants in the house before but we’re told by an old farmer friend that when temps hit over 100 for several days in a row (unusual here in Bend) they seek water sources. Very happy to say we havent seen them since your stay, and fortunately we are running a bit cooler now. Thanks for letting us know!

Hi- Thanks for sharing! We enjoyed hearing that the cottage made your Bend-time even better --- that's what we go for. In the coming weeks we will be planting our flowers, doing our outside Spring cleaning, and putting out the bikes for the summer too --- it just keeps getting better! Great to hear that you guys too, enjoyed my very favorite thing about the Autumn Cottage----getting to really EXPERIENCE Bend because of her wonderful location. Strolling to coffee, brew pubs, great dining, small shops, eclectic galleries and more.... You just have to love our historic downtown and her many treasures! I appreciate the review of our actual home, The Autumn Cottage, and our service itself being so positive! I liked reading that a part of what you enjoyed was the great central, walkable relationship with our wonderful historic downtown. Those are the things that as a host, we have control over and what we work on diligently to deliver to our guests. However as with any, and nearly every, urban setting in America now we are also struggling with houseless people in Bend, especially with such a close downtown setting. Unfortunately, that is beyond my personal control. Luckily, our City Council is making these issues a priority and their dedication to Bend shows in their responses. I’m trying to do my part too and am hoping as a community we can reach some good solutions for all. For future Bend trips we do have less-central properties, further away from the downtown core area that may suit your family better. Thanks again

As with any, and nearly every, urban setting in America now we are also struggling with houseless people in Bend, especially with such a close downtown setting and during the summertime. Unfortunately, things that occur off property are beyond our personal control. Luckily, our City Council is making these issues a priority and their dedication to Bend shows in their responses. There is a camping code that makes it illegal to camp where you have mentioned in your review, and we are starting to work with the City of Bend on effective enforcement. We are trying to do our part and are hoping as a community we can reach some good solutions for all.
