Do yourself a solid and stay somewhere else. The area is saturated with places to stay – choose a place that is not managed by Benchmark Management. When we arrived on a Sunday evening 7pm there was a very strong chemical smell in the place. We called the host and were told our complaint has been received and we would be “hearing back from someone soon”. We attempted to get a better idea of WHEN we could expect to hear back because we felt it was unsafe (and unhealthy) for us to stay there. Our accommodations were for two nights, and we spent the first night just waiting on this call back (why unpack when you’re anticipating the host will relocate us given major concern). We ended up going to bed with the screen door open – summer in Florida so you can imagine how unbearable that was – but we needed some respite from the strong smell. It didn’t take long before we both had terrible headaches. We did not hear from Benchmark Management until early evening the next day, they sent someone out who confirmed the chemical smell, and then again, said we would hear from someone. Nothing. No attempt to relocate us, reimburse us, make it right in any way. We waiting almost 24 hours to hear from ANYONE on a pretty serious accommodation concern. That is unacceptable. Stay somewhere else.
