Family downtime

This location was perfect for our family vacation. The house is beautiful and clean. The views from the patio are some of the best we have seen and we travel a bunch. There were dolphins that visited a couple of times a day and we were lucky enough to see the fireworks since we stayed for the Fourth of July. There are several restaurants nearby that we enjoy and the house was stocked very well so we were able to cook as a family. If we are in the area again this is where we will stay. Thanks!

Everything was good. We had one issue that was addressed. We wish there were notes on how to work the surround sound and lighting the outdoor fire pit. Tremendous Pool and Views!

Pros:Pool and Views of Tampa Bay. Incredible. From watching storms light up the bay, to seeing dolphins, pelicans, and sunsets. Absolutely fantastic. So comfortable to watch from the pool.Property manager very communicative. We had issues with the fireplace (which got fixed promptly), the internet went down in a storm (she directed me eventually to the outlet that got tripped). Was very helpful while respecting our privacy.Plenty of items in the house. From towels (including for the pool), to basic food items, serving items, etc. Very nice to have a gated community. Was very quiet. We played a radio during the day (not too loud) and it didn't bother anyone. A couple from England was on holiday at the house next door and they were friendly and we talked together.ConsThere was construction that had to be done in neighboring houses. A fence was put up right next door when we were there and some roofing was going on. But it never was too bothersome. We actually talked with some of the contractors. Overall fantastic house with the major selling point being the pool and the views over Tampa Bay.

Relaxing!

The home was perfect for our family and friends to spend quality time together. The patio, pool and hot tub is where we spent most of our time. The sunsets were amazing! There is plenty of space for 2 families to be together and also have privacy. The owner and property manager were great to work with and responded immediately when we had any questions.

Beautiful Views.

This property was amazing. The favorite part for the entire family was the sunsets. We were able to see manatee, dolphins, stingray, hammerhead shark, bull shark and much more!! The only downside: There were lots of bugs: mosquitos and flying ants.

Fantastic family vacation spent in a beautiful home

My family visited to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. The home was beautiful, and the views were even better in real life than in the pictures. The property manager was very responsive when we had questions. My kids have already asked to go back :-) I would recommend this home 100%!!!

Property manager was attentive and very responsive, without being intrusive. Great job.

Loved the location. Watched manatees swimming past (and under!) the dock. Dolphins, pelicans and an osprey made appearances. Patio with pool and hot tub was great place to hang out. The “fire bar” was fun and relaxing in the evenings. The house was very comfortable and nicely furnished.

Escaping the MN snow!

Great house. We had 8 people staying here for spring break. Everyone had plenty of room. Kitchen was well appointed. We saw dolphins, manatees and string rays on the pier. The house manager Lori was great! She even let us borrow a huge pot to do a low country boil for my son’s 15th birthday. Circles, Finn’s and the Vineyard Italian restaurant are great and right down the street. Thanks for the great spring break!

Family Getaway Basking in the Bay

We spent a week in this wonderful location on Tampa Bay. We were lucky and had wonderful weather the entire stay. The house was fantastic! The place was exceptionally clean, check in was easy and the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the utensils and pots and pans needed. The appliances were new and fully operational. The management was very responsive and accomodating even in the midst of the pandemic. The location is close to a marina which made boat rental very convenient. The house also supplied all of the linens, towels and bedding. We had a wonderful time at this prime location!

Gorgeous house, million dollar views, abundant wildlife

We traveled with 9 - my wife, myself, our 2 kids (13 and 12), my sister in law, my parents, and my in laws. This house is gorgeous. Everything is well appointed, clean, and spacious. The infinity pool is just perfect. Amazing view and relaxing. We spent our mornings sipping coffee and fishing, our afternoons fishing, and had a blast. There is a ton of wildlife right on the dock. We saw dolphins, sharks, stingrays, manatees, and caught 5 different species of fish. We were slightly hesitant the upstairs rooms would be hot after reading the reviews. We had no issues. The rooms were super comfortable for sleeping, and we are used to the cold (we live in Michigan). There was a slight issue while we were there, and the hosts were extremely responsive. They tackled the issue quickly and were in regular contact with us, and very apologetic and professional. I highly recommend staying here. Just fantastic - memories made!

Fantastic property

We took a golf trip to Tampa, FL over the Feb 28th weekend and chose to stay in the Apollo Beach area. Property was very clean and the owner was very accommodating. We were granted an early check in as well as a late check with no issues. Check in-check out process was flawless. The property itself was picture perfect. Plenty of space for 8 adults and furnished with everything we can ask for. We ended up using the hot tub, the grill, as well as the pool for a bit as it was bit cool. The Sonos sound system in the house was easy to access and we were able to play and project our music both indoors and outdoors. I would highly recommend this property. We had a blast and if we head back to the Tampa area, we would certainly look to book this location again.

Everything we hoped for and more!

The title says it all. This property was everything we hoped for and more. There were eight of us total; my husband (big fisherman), myself, our three adult sons and their significant others. The house gave us the separation we needed and the family togetherness we wanted. We never wanted to leave! We all slept better than we do at home and lived in that pool. My husband caught some fish and some rays off the dock and even had a couple sharks on the line! The sunsets were amazing and we live on Cape Cod so we see a lot of sunsets. All the little details in the house were what made this vacation so perfect, from the labeled switches and softest pillows ever to the fully stocked kitchen. We never wanted for a thing and when we had a question/request upon arrival, Lori was SO responsive. We made family memories to last a lifetime and got the relaxation we all needed and more. I would recommend this property to anyone and would be happy to answer any questions any potential renters have. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing property with us!!!!

Unfortunate that the pool is not heated

This home is standard track housing with nice finishes so I would typically rate it as 4 stars. However, I deducted a full star as the pool (let’s face it, the main reason anyone would rent the house) is NOT heated. I would not recommend renting the house November through April as Florida pools need to be heated in the winter months. I even offered to pay for the heat and the owner wanted $300 per day ($5,000 for my 16 night stay) stating that propane heat is very expensive. The home directly next door rents for less and is heated as that owner invested in an alternative heating source which is much cheaper. The listing was very misleading as the “no heat” disclosure is not listed at all on the VRBO app which is what I use. It is listed in a small disclosure under the amenities section on the regular VRBO website (non-app) which is easy for most to miss and based on other recent reviews from November, was missed by other renters. Other than the completely unusable pool, the home is very well maintained. The views are beautiful and the wildlife (manatees, string-rays, sharks) that can be seen from the pier are amazing. This is a quiet, residential neighborhood so it’s great for relaxing.

Wow ! Villa Del Mar Apollo Beach

What can I say but WOW !! We stayed the week of April 10th 2021 and it was Amazing ! The house has everything you need with instructions on how to use and find things. Lori the house manger was very responsive to any concern or question I had before and during our stay, we even had crazy rain one day and she reached out an apologized for rain on our vacation! With the view from the house who cared ? I’m not sure why there are some bad reviews to be honest.. We were a group of 4 adults ages 33 to 54 and love to have a good time, drink and relax , we were able to do all three for sure ! The hot tub was fine and hot ! Yes you have to “start” it, but you plan for that ( about a 1/2 hr to completely heat) and there is no issue, we actually had to turn it off prior to the 2 hr timer because it got too hot. The “quiet” time is no big deal..move inside ? Plus with all that sun were in bed early , lol . A/C and doors open ? Any 5 star resort you visit in the Caribbean you have to leave the doors closed with the a/c on, otherwise it shuts off.. so why would you expect that you can waste energy here ? We always made sure the doors were closed behind us, they are heavy so easy not to shit them all the way if your not paying attention. I was more worried about the rule of don’t set the temp to lower than 72 degrees, coming from NH and all I’m used to the cool weather for sure, but I asked to have the temp locked on 72 at all times because just like my own house the a/c is set on an am/pm timer, and Lori set it no problem ! There are plenty of ceiling fans and stand up fans so I was surprisingly comfortable at all times !! The Kitchen has everything you need and the outdoor kitchen is great but the outdoor ice machine is amazing !!! Beds are comfortable and clean. I know someone complained about the no child gates and only ropes on the dock , well preparing for a trip with a young child is key, I wouldn’t bring my 3 yr old granddaughter because I would want to relax and not be on guard the whole time..but all that stuff is clearly shown in all pics and if your worried about the dock why not the pool too ? I can’t understand some of the comments and I say this just a regular person who likes to vacation. Overall the gated community is quite and out of the way, which we liked for this trip. We went to St Pete’s and Highly recommend Grazzi for dinner ..to die for ! That was the only time we left.. if you travel with girlfriends only

Not worth the $$$$

The place is nicely decorated and the view is gorgeous. That’s about all. When we arrived and hooked up to the internet, I got a caution message that the security is very weak. Two days later, I received a message that I needed to change my passwords as there was a data leak. A big hassle. Also, the signal is really weak — it was easier to use my data. All the trouble started with the spa.We read this in prior reviews, but had hoped they had worked out the kinks. The spa is incredibly difficult to use, and that’s because the owner continually adjusts it or turns it off. They’ll tell you it’s on a 2 hour timer, but that’s a lie. The timer does NOT work — we would have it on for 5 minutes and it would turn off shortly after. We constantly had to text them to adjust the temp or turn it on. It was cool outside the first couple days, so this was the only amenity we could use. Two times when we were in the spa, the water also completely emptied out of it… (some water feature)... Again, frustrating. We constantly felt like we were being micromanaged. As mentioned, the first couple days were cool, so we turned on the heat to keep the house at 72. We have two young children, so wanted to keep them comfortable. The owner kept turning off the heat. We asked management to please stop. The response was “The owner is controlling it and I’m asking her to stop.” Now for the creepy part. We were being watched which made me very uncomfortable. We have two young children, so this gave me anxiety — we had reached out to VRBO about this as we were receiving messages like this: “I turned the heat off in the house since the entry door and the windows are open. Let me know when you’d like me to turn the heat or AC back on”. It made us feel completely uncomfortable. We never touched a window and, we would close the doors after going in and out. I also received a message at 12:43 am one morning that a window and door were open. Again, they were NOT open. And, it was not appropriate to text me at that time in the morning. Lastly, this house is not safe for families and children. The stairs are very dangerous for toddlers. There is tile everywhere, so we had many slips. To access the dock, there is NO gate. The dock doesn’t have a very good railing (just a rope), so you don’t want young children walking out there. Honestly, I don’t think the owner should have a rental — she was so over the top and controlling. I’ve never experienced this before.

Beautiful home but had some issues

We were disappointed that the speaker system didn't work. We also wanted to pay to have the pool heated. It finally happened on the last full day we were there. We stayed there a week. That was not great considering the pool temp was around 75 degrees. Too cold!

Great Visit

The house was terrific. There were nine of us from ages 6-78 and we had a great time. It is off the beaten path in a good way but with easy access to Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater. But you can also avoid the traffic here. The setup is great. We cooked a lot and had everything we needed. Pool and hot tub were great. Lots of seating. Very comfortable.

We chose this gorgeous home in Apollo Beach because of its spectacular location on Tampa Bay and proximity to all the attractions the Tampa area has to offer.

We are delighted that Lori Maynard who is a Superhost on AirBNB manages our property for us . She will primarily address all communication regarding our house.
