Home looks better in person than in pictures

Very nice and clean rental home with great amenities. Close to the lagoon and fairly short walk to the beach. We are definitely going to rent this home again!

Great Location

This property was perfect for our family traveling with a dog. There is a really nice walking/biking path behind the units, and it also leads to the beach access close by. Overall we had everything we needed!

Relaxing and nice location! Having the lagoon close by and beach just across the street worked well! Dog friendly is definitely a plus. The space was perfect ! My family each had their own room. The pool was nice & cool despite the summer heat ! Thank you for a wonderful stay 😀

Great stay

Short trip but very enjoyable!

We took a short trip to the beach and this place was great for the 8 of us. The only major problem was that the proper keys were not in the correct boxes; however, we were able to receive the help we needed to access our cottage with no additional problems. Easy access to the beach & especially loved that the floors were not sandy inside the cottage when we arrived!! I will definitely be going back and would recommend #MM to anyone!!! :)

Yearly Beach Vacation

We loved staying at this property! It is a beautiful home and it was wonderful that it was dog friendly so that our furry family member was able to join us. Location is great also; it is located near a walking trail and pier and just a few minutes drive to town and multiple resturants. We will definately book again!!

Cute and Relaxing Condo

This is just what we needed to rest and relax! **** is a great host. You will love renting this condo! It has all the amenities of home, a fully stocked kitchen (which we used every evening to make our dinner). Each bedroom has its own bathroom, plus a full bath off the kitchen. Our family of 5 was very thankful for this. Lol. Great access to the beach as well.

Great house

We loved the house and neighborhood. It was modern and clean. The pool was a nice alternative when we had enough beach. The beach was less than a 10 minute walk away. The lagoon was beautiful to walk around in the evening too. I would highly recommend this house.

Beautiful cottage

I loved this cottage. It was exactly as described in the listing. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of a couple of issues. The biggest problem was when locking the door from the inside the handle needs to be slightly lifted. This information is not given and it took about 20 minutes between two phone calls before learning this. A sign near the door would be helpful. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, but if you want salt, pepper, cooking spray or anything needed for cooking, you need to bring it. Finally, it wasn’t a problem with the group we had, but there are many steps, both inside and out, which may be difficult for some. Otherwise, it was an awesome cottage! Many beach chairs and toys are provided and it’s the perfect place when traveling with a dog. I would absolutely stay again now that I am aware of the few issues I had.

We give it a 10/10!

We enjoyed our stay at west side cottages. The rental was clean and met our needs. It looked just like the photos. We were happy the unit was dog friendly, however Gulf Shores and Orange Beach do not allow dogs on the beaches at any time which was a major let down. We still were able to walk them, take them to a local dog park that had water for them to play in. The unit had lots of board games, books, and smart tv with streaming apps. The area of gulf shores has some issues with internet, so the tv streaming apps sometimes delayed, but again.. it’s an issue with the gulf shores area, not the specific unit. We would definitely stay at this unit again, but there were a couple of things we’d alert future guests about. The front door is extremely difficult to lock and unlock, it was very frustrating every time we left the unit. This unit doesn’t allow guests to use their beach chairs so you will need to bring your own, or rent some. The indoor staircase up to the top floor slants downward which was a major tripping hazard so I wouldn’t recommend this unit to any guests who may have accessibility issues. There is no ice maker at this unit, so you will need to get ice (there is a container for ice in the freezer). As mentioned, we would stay here again because it was clean, communication was great, and the check in and check out process was very easy. Everything about this stay was easy (outside of the front door issue), so as a first timer with VRBO, I am happy with our vacation

Great house, poor management.

I first want to start off by saying if you plan to bring your dogs, book your stay through ab&b because there’s no pet fee and a hidden one through VRBO. The house was great and well-kept, easy walk to the beach which made beach visits very convenient. There are 4 full baths which made it quick to clean up after the beach/pool. It was also nice they had some board games and books for us to use. The front patio is completely enclosed so it was nice to relax out there with the dogs and not have to worry about them running off (also toddler friendly). It wasn’t an issue for us, but this house is not ideal for anyone who has a hard time going up or down stairs. During our stay the house was infested with fruit flies when we got there, and the management company suggested we look for the insecticide that was supposed to be in a drawer in the house, and to use apple cider vinegar to kill them. When I told them I didn’t have apple cider vinegar and there wasn’t any insecticide anywhere in the house, they responded that they don’t provide those things. We ended up just dealing with it for the full week unfortunately. Heads up that there are literally no spices left in the kitchen so we even had to purchase salt and pepper. The door deadbolt function is very weird and there were no directions on how to lock the front door. Luckily we found a previous review that explained it. You have to lift upward on the handle to close the deadbolt, then you can twist the knob that seems like it would actuate the deadbolt. All the knob does is prevent the handle from moving. The WiFi was extremely slow so be aware if you plan on doing anything important that requires a stable signal (work call etc…). Overall we enjoyed the house for our vacation and would stay there again if it’s available. We’ll just make sure to bring apple cider vinegar and book through the “other site” next time.

Charming beach cottage

We loved the beachy decor of the fresh and clean beach cottage. Both the gulf beach and inner bay were within easy walking distance. This beach cottage was perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway with family!

Can’t get any better!

The property was very well maintained. I wish we knew there was more outside equipment for us to use because I bought some before we came. But maybe that was an oversight on my part. Overall great location and house!

Beautiful ❤️

This is our second year at this home, and we will be renting for a third. The home is modern and decorated beautifully and you have all the amenities of home. Right on the lagoon, and the beach is just a short walk away. The community is quiet and the pool is a short walk away, right behind the cottage. Our son loves to fish and he can go right behind the home, there’s a pier out into the lagoon, for hours! We’ve met some lovely people both years we’ve stayed here, the neighbors are such a joy! Rich and Beth are such wonderful people to work with, they make sure you feel right at home. We can’t wait for next year!!
