Great little get away

We stayed here for a couple of days to do some work in Kaikoura. The property was well set up, and in a nice tranquil setting.

Nice get away

Had an awesome time staying here, heaps of room nice and clean. Weather was nice, nice relaxing out in the front yard. Will definitely come back again we all enjoyed our stay.

Had a lovely stay here. Thank you Probably could do with a better vacuum (young kids pick stuff up off floor and eat it etc) but other than that it was really nice.

Lovely new years stay

Such a cosy place!!! Had all we needed, lots of privacy, warm, fireplace with wood!! only minutes away from town centre. Only downfall was dead blow flies everywhere - time of year for it I guess. Provided with fly spray so that's a bonus. Would definitely visit again - telling all everyone I know. Great hosting from Clare

Quiet peaceful fresh air place.

Lovely quiet place, appreciate the wood as a front arrived when we arrived. Love see the manu and wow the stars at night amazing. We want to come back. Thanks for making it available.

Quiet Retreat

A relaxing spot, away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to enjoy all the benefits of Kaikoura township. Secure parking for your boat and car. Enjoy the bird song and the peace, not to mention the beautiful mountains!

Exactly as described.

Comfortable stay. Cleanliness was fine, well stocked kitchen. The beds are all quite different and the furniture dated, however everything is exactly as per the photos. Nice change to be in the countryside just a little way out of Kaikoura.

Quiet, private country house

Handy to town and bike trails or you might just rest up inside with a book. Secluded, spacious home surrounded by mature trees. Lockable garage space, firewood for a cold spell and all the kitchen appliances/items needed. A wide selection of Sky TV channels but no internet.

Last minute booking

Glad to find this cottage at late notice after a sudden ferry cancellation and finding ourselves with 4 days to spare. . The cottage is roomy and reminders me of my grandmother’s house. Beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped but knives need sharpening

A lovely spot between mountains and sea

Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed chilling out around Kaikoura. Discovered Dongegal House, and did Peninsula walkway. Albatross viewing boat trip was fun. Self shedding rams in back paddock were interesting. It is worth putting up with the lack of Wifi and a dishwasher for this beautiful private spot. We plan to return. Sorry we packed your tea towels in error. These have been posted to you.

A home away from home

Since we had to endure five consecutive days of constant rain while in Kaikoura we were confined indoors most of the time. Hence we were enormously grateful this spacious cottage in its pretty rural setting was warm, comfortable, and so well appointed. Given the inclement weather having Sky TV and a log-burner with plenty of wood just outside the door were two big pluses. We would rate this accommodation 10 out of 10. Mary and Noel, Akaroa

Average

It was adequate in terms of comfort, but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness... particularly the kitchen! We had to wipe out cupboards, clean plates and cutlery before use, and the oven was not clean either ...just lucky we brought baking paper. Lots of dust and cobwebs too.

Dusty and worn out back

It was a specious bach not very far from the centre. However, we have not enjoyed our stay much and spent there as little time as possible. The bach was a bit too dirty/dusty and with spider webs all around. Apparently, no cleaning is done after the guests and the windows need a good clean. I found it a bit disrespectful to rent out the bach in that condition.

Tired house in a nice setting

Generally Clean inside but windows need cleaning outside. Ceiling lights in main bedroom not working. Need to take bath towel as the bathroom tiles are slippery. Also need salt and pepper as the shakers were empty. Appreciate it is country and so lots of flies but a vacuum prior to 4 pm entry would be good. Tv etc very good and nice 70s crockery and feel. Beds comfy, one single is very high and guest needed to organise a step up stool. Nice setting. No wifi and sketchy phone coverage but the stars were magnificent.

Loved it

We had a great relaxing time , we where thankful of the firewood as it was a cold night x2 Can’t wait to stay again . There is a little bit if maintenance needed we noticed from last time to now only minor but worth looking at ( lots of spider webs on windows) seal on shower door hanging off, bathroom sink needs the waste replacing, the heated towel rail bracket is cracked and will fall down soon, the range hood fan didn’t work and had oil dripping into the stove , everything else was great Thank You

Lovely quiet property

A quiet, clean property, close to town but very peaceful. All the amenity you need. Kaikoura was wonderful - swam with dolphins. Note cell phone coverage a bit patchy and no wifi - which can be a good thing!
