upon arriving the house wasn't very clean and didn't have the comforts that I/we would have expected. there were no dish cloths to clean with. however there was an expectation that we would clean before we did. we did make some attempts to clean but without the tools it was not possible. While I now see that we were told there would be no tea towels there was nothing to wipe a bench with. there was nowhere to hang clothing or to store them . Mould was found throughout dwelling, place was dirty and extremely uninviting. I would not return and definitely not recommend.

Great place and location. Just could do with a few upgrades, to kitchen and supplied equipment. Wasn't overly clean.But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely location, very quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately there was a funky fishy smell throughout the house, plus toilet wasn’t clean.

Great quiet place in the heart of South Bay

A good simple two bedroom batch in the heart of South Bay. Perfect for weekend or longer stays, close to the water and walking distance to some nice walks. Highly recommended.

My only real criticism of this property is essentially a cautionary one. It concerns the unusual step spanning across the entire junction space between the living room and the kitchen. It is most counterintuitive to have to step (15cm or so, in fact) down from the living area as required here, and it is easy at first to forget to do so at first. I stumbled several times, as did my partner. I could see the structural reasons for the step because of the need for the kitchen ceiling and roofline to follow that of the original dwelling to which the kitchen has surely been added. A warning to watch this unusual step is nevertheless warranted. Otherwise, this is a pleasant, fairly well appointed, property and one we would rent again for a weekend in Kaikoura .

Filthy but good location

This property was in a stunning location, however upon arrival, we opened the door and there was a horrid odor throughout the whole house. We had to air it out for 2 days and it was still there. We could tell the place was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The bathroom had hair all over the sink, the floor was filthy and you could tell it had been awhile since it was cleaned. It made me very uncomfortable to put my infant down or even let him sleep there.

Peaceful and relaxing

This was the perfect bach for us. Quiet, private, just the right size. The back deck and small garden were nice and they even had a compost bin.

Great little batch away

Great little batch with everything a family needs on a trip away. Comfy clean and warm. Great with the smart tv and wifi. Only thing we will say pillows needing upgrading as pretty soft and not alot to them. Otherwise will most definitely stay again
