The Liberty Cottage will be your absolute favorite vacation rental! Overlooking majestic Lake Michigan these are views that take your breath away!

Professionally decorated with all the amenities one would expect in a 5 star rental. 5 minute walk to Lake Michigan and .4 miles from the hospital.
Area Attractions and Things to Do During your Stay
• Downtown - 0.5 mile walk to downtown shopping, bars, restaurants and coffee shops
• Hike/Bike/Jog - 0.2 mile walk to the Little Traverse Wheelway (www.trailscouncil.org). This 26 mile bike path goes through Petoskey and runs from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs. Bike rentals are available a few doors down from Latitude 45 Bicycles and Fitness (www.latitude45.com)
• Waterfront - 0.4 miles from the Bayfront Park. Walk out to the Lighthouse and jump off the breakwall, public boat launch and day slips available for boaters, watch a local baseball game under the lights in the evenings, visit the Little Traverse Historical Society History Museum, and enjoy one of Petoskey’s million dollar sunsets (www.petoskey.us)
• Recreation - Walk the steps next door down to the Bear River Valley Recreation Area. Enjoy 1.5 miles of paved and unpaved walking trails for hiking or biking. 1.4 mile long whitewater course available. Pick up lunch in one of our local delis and enjoy in one of multiple public picnic areas.
• Beach Day – make the 4.8 mile drive over to Petoskey State Park to enjoy a beautiful day on the beach of Lake Michigan. Climb the dunes, enjoy a game of beach volleyball or search for Petoskey stones along the lakeshore.
• Wine Tour – Enjoy a day of wine tasting at one of over a dozen wineries that are in the Petoskey area. Tour guides and drivers are available for hire.
• Ski/Snowboard – 9.7 miles to the North you can enjoy a day of powder at either Boyne Highlands or Nubs Nob. 17 miles South you can ski at Boyne Mountain or enjoy a day at Boyne’s famous indoor waterpark Avalanche Bay.
• Golf – with dozens of golf courses in Northern Michigan, we have a course from the novice to the professional and everything in between.
• Mackinac Island – 40 miles away you can take a step back in time for the day and enjoy a trip to famous Mackinac Island. Enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour, bike the 8 miles around the island and enjoy all of the locally made fudge you can handle.

Beautiful Liberty Cottage

We had an awesome stay at the beautiful Liberty Cottage located close to busy downtown Petosky. All the comforts of home were enjoyed with a spectacular views of the bay and Petosky.

Winter stay

Our family of five had a wonderful stay. The property was clean, and conveniently located in Petosky for food and pubs. We enjoyed day trips to the slopes and other nearby cities from this location. The Owner was easy to communicate with and located nearby if needed. We would stay here again when in the area.

Beautiful home with great views

This home is beautifully constructed and furnished with everything you may need. Great views and walkability to town drew us to this property. Diana was great to work with and close by if we needed anything. We really appreciated the size of the bedrooms and that each bedroom had a large adjoining bathroom. Would definitely stay again.

This home is very special. The pictures are truly what you’ll experience at this home. The host is highly responsive and I even had the chance to meet the owner in person and he was super friendly and welcoming. The location is really good, an easy walk to lots of places. I would definitely recommend this property for your upcoming holidays.

Great Petoskey Rental

From the moment we entered we were thrilled. The home smelled wonderful and was beautifully appointed. We especially enjoyed having coffee in the morning and drinks at night on the deck with a lovely lake view and even saw shooting stars from the upper deck as well! The location was perfect for our vacation activities as well-so convenient to everything. If it was a little lower priced we would definitely be back.

Perfect for ski weekend

Liberty Cottage was perfectly located for access to several ski destinations. The house has a beautiful view of Grand Traverse Bay. It is close to charming shops and restaurants. The house itself is beautifully designed, with lots of sunlight and lovely decor. The beds are comfortable, and there are three large bathrooms. Diana was very prompt to respond to communications. Our experience was wonderful, and I have been trying to find excuses to travel up to Petoskey again and book Liberty Cottage again!

Delightful Lake Michigan Jewelbox

First, the photos are 100% accurate! New, clean and spacious. I loved the decor so much, I researched and found several similar items online and bought them. Liberty Cottage is higher on the bluff so the view of the bay is higher over 2 streets of homes and parks. It is an easy walk down the to Wheelway for biking or hiking. Petoskey is a delight and within walking distance - maybe .5 miles? Yes to the wonderful Little Traverse Bay museum! All three bedrooms (all with private large bathrooms!) were very roomy! We spent most time on the 2 decks enjoying the sunsets, watching boats and clouds, and basking in the breeze. Don't miss venturing over to Harbor Springs! It is smaller and slower - loved Paper Station, Piersons and Bar Harbour for burgers. Our favorite restaurant in Petoskey was Chandlers. We loved Barrel Back Restaurant on Walloon Lake for a casual, open-garagedoor hangout. Golf is amazing in Northern Michigan and the house was a perfect spot to manage our clubs and head out in all directions for the courses - loved Crooked Tree, Hills Course in the Highlands, Belvedere and Monument. The contact Diana is fabulous and I felt very safe, and knew if there was an issue, she would respond quickly.

Stunning Views and Posh Decor

We loved our stay - the location is walkable to town, near the bike path. Beautiful view of the bay. The house is so well appointed it looks like something out of a magazine. The owners thought of everything. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic House!

We are already trying to plan a return trip to this house! The location is an easy walking distance to town and is at an entrance to Bayfront Park. The views from the house are amazing and the house itself is pretty new. The amenities are good and the towels are the best we’ve seen at a rental. All bedrooms are ensuite and the master is on the main level (no view), but with a nice closet. We stayed in the bedroom upstairs with a balcony and an amazing view! It was perfect. Diana the owner was really nice and accommodating. We’ll be back!

Beautiful House in a Great Location

The Liberty Cottage as a wonderful home base for a great vacation - walkable to downtown Petoskey, steps away from Bayfront Park and the Little Traverse Wheelway with easy access to Harbor Springs and Charlevoix. The inside living space was beautifully done and the main and sun decks have great views and were perfect for an outdoor breakfast and evening glass of wine. The nicest properties we have been able to enjoy through VRBO (and they all have been good). A great place to stay!

Beautiful!

This home is beautiful and we are so glad we found it. Everything was exactly as pictured and felt brand new with lovely and thoughtful design, very clean, comfortable beds, and a gorgeous view of the bay from the porches. Location was amazing and proximity to downtown Petoskey was easily walkable. We loved renting bikes from the bike shop down the street and taking family bike rides on the Little Traverse Wheelway. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

GORGEOUS Property & PRICELESS views

Perfect location for a 2 week stay. Quick and easy to take day trips to Harbor Springs and Burt Lake too. We spent most of our time relaxing on the huge porch watching the sunset. Great built-in sound system. It was like living in a model home or magazine. Clean, impeccably decorated and the view of the Bay is priceless. So many amazing restaurants in Petoskey. Definitely coming back here.

High Quality and Great Views

The construction and materials used were what were most impressive to us. All the linens, towels, mattresses, and pillows were perfect. I am going to ask the owner what they were so I could buy the same. Our sleep was that good! The views and location are also amazing. Host was excellent. You won't be disappointed.

Pure magic!

This property is so nice, I can’t believe they even rent it out. It is so well done with gorgeous fixtures and amazing art. It feels like you are staying at your wealthy jet-setting cool Aunt’s house while she’s in Tuscany. Our girl’s ski trip consisted of 3 generations aged 65 to 5, and the house was perfectly suitable for all of us. Proximity to skiing and downtown is stellar. The view of the lake is incredible. The house is pure magic. I have stayed in VRBO’s all over the world and this one is BY FAR my favorite!

An incredible gem in Petoskey MI

A luxury vacation home in the heart of Petoskey helped our family to make incredible memories. The home is gorgeous, selection of award winning books with classy and modern decoration together with a spectacular view of Lake Michigan, warmth our hearts and left smiles on our faces. Diana is a super host, she is accessible and very helpful. We hardly used our car during our stay. Everythinh is within walking distance. Downtown Petoskey with many choices of great restaurants, shops and of course ice creams made this stay a very relaxing for us with two busy growing children. We plan on returning soon. Best experience we have had in vacation rentals. Highly recommend it to you all.
