- Please be aware that seaweed is a natural phenomenon that hits Quintana Roo beaches, especially during the summer months (Apr-Oct). While the local team at El Faro and the municipality do a great job in cleaning it up, it can affect your ability to enjoy the beach and the ocean, so please make yourself aware of the current state of the seaweed, as we cannot offer refunds for issues related to seaweed.

- The central location of this property gives you access to the best that downtown Playa del Carmen has to offer. Due to our location next to restaurants and bars, you may experience some noise at this location. We do not offer refunds for noise issues. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy your stay!

- Your booking automatically includes a damage protection policy. Should any minor accidental damages occur during your stay, we will cover you up to $1,000. We understand accidents happen, so we've got your back! However, if we determine damage was willful or negligent, we will charge an additional cost based on the damage itself.

- We have a no-tolerance rule about parties and loud noise, so please be aware that complaints from neighbors, notifications from authorities, notifications from our noise monitoring software, or any other proof of disruptive behavior or loud noise between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM will result in fines of up to $1000.00, possible eviction and / or possible legal action if authorities are involved.

-The beach condition changes every day, weather and hurricanes tend to affect how wide the sand area is in our photos- sometimes the water reaches up to the deck.

- Please note that due to El Faro's security protocols, before your arrival, we will request a photo of each guest's ID that will be at the property during your stay.

A Wonderful Holiday!

The property appears to be very well managed. Both the rental unit and the grounds were clean, secure and well maintained. The unit was very well appointed and all the appliances worked. A beautiful pool & beach. Our only complaint was that we had trouble with the internet. It took 3 days to connect, & when connected - it was slow. Also, the nightclub music from around the corner (especially the low base notes) kept my husband awake - even with earplugs. I was able to ignore it & sleep. Overall, our family of 4 had an absolutely wonderful holiday! Thank you for the memories.

Beautiful property

Beautiful quiet property close to everything in Playa del Carmen. Loved the umbrella service everyday and the cool bar/restaurant on the beach next door. Had a couple of broken items in the rental but maintenance came next morning and fixed them promptly. Would stay there again

The place was perfect, right on the beach yet close to everything you may need from groceries, dining, shopping, activities. Walkable to all of the fore mentioned. Our condo had all of the necessities. Loved waking up looking at the water. Our family of 6 had a nice relaxing week.

Room with a View

On an earlier stay in El Faro, we were in a different building. This condo/building offered a superior experience. The photos well represent the quality of the furnishings, kitchen appliances and bathrooms' double vanities. Not shown is the master bath houses a full-sized washer and dryer. Big bonus! The view from the balcony is lovely, while the location shields you from the nightlife/partying that nearby venues offer. The security patrol is another bonus - the property's yellow wrist bands designating El Faro guests; those without are promptly escorted away. the El Faro pools are the envy of the area, and the photos are true to life. Other reviews highlighted the wall art as porno/offensive, a viewpoint we did not share. Also negatively reviewed was the furniture coverings - coverings we appreciated as protecting the couches from our sunscreened bodies. We returned to El Faro because of the pools, security, and proximity to Playa's avenues of restaurants and shopping. Already planning our next trip!

Fantastic condo

The condo was fantastic. It was well stocked with all the appliances, bedding and linen, plus water bottles ready to go. It was clean and the location of the complex is close to everything such as shops, restaurants, transportation, diving and the beach is steps away. The staff of El Faro is amazing and work so hard to make guests comfortable. It’s always appreciated when owners of these condos rent them out so we can enjoy a vacation.

Pictures are misleading

First of all - the good! Great location!!! Property managers were prompt when called about fixing issues. The balcony was nice and views were as depicted. The bad - the couches had ugly brown covers on them and there was a huge strange naked lady pic on the wall. I immediately pulled up the listing to make sure I was in the right place because I would have never selected this unit based on how it looks now. Please just get new couches and maybe beach themed art - or update pics to show people what they are really getting.

We love El Faro, and have stayed there several times! This condo was fine, but not our fav! The only “issue”, was the pictures were not quite accurate. The worst was the very ugly, sloppy, brown slipcovers on what was pictured as a beautiful white couch and loveseat! They were ill-fitted and make it impossible to use the love seat! In addition, the artwork was very odd! Abstract naked lady above our bed! And the large “Some Girls, Rolling Stones” album cover, and another Rolling Stones concert poster in the bathroom, of another naked woman, just a bit awkward. None of which are pictured in the condo photos. Would have preferred a more Mexican or beach vibe! Just not our style! Last thought: we wish they would figure out the chairs at the pool situation. Every morning it is a battle of the fittest, and most aggressive, fight for pool chairs…a total morning nightmare, unfortunately! Every year we hope they will figure out a new system! All that being said El Faro is still the best place to stay in Playa! The best location and pool!!!

Family vacation

Location is amazing and close to everything. Also, Playa has a lot of energy at night and this particular unit is angled great so the noise was minimal. We always pack white noise machines wherever we go and it was perfect. Five Star was very responsive prior to the trip and answered all of our questions. The oven didn’t work and we didn’t realize until Christmas Eve. I texted and never got a response which was very reasonable due to the holiday. Upon trying again after I didn’t realize there was an email I should have used. Never was repaired but I used the grill instead and it was fine. Housekeeping was amazing and did a great job.

Perfect!

This was the perfect place! right on the beach, view is spectacular! The condo was clean and just the right size for me and my husband, plus a few more if we had some friends. eclectic art, awesome balcony where we spent the majority of the time relaxing and enjoying the view of the sea. Great infinity pool, shallow end for kids as well. Get a massage by the pool, worth it!! I liked that security is at the pool/beach area to make sure its only guests. We will definitely be back & stay @ Reef 203!!

Great place to stay with your family!

Everything was great! The apartment is well equipped for a family of 4-5 to stay without any space issues. It is near stores and restaurants (Calle 5). Walmart is a short 10-15min walk up the street. We did not have any problems with noise from the nearby restaurants, clubs and people passing by. Unfortunately most of the days the beach right in front of the complex had a lot of seaweed. The pool is huge and great! The air conditioning worked great. The apartment had 2 big jugs of water. The shower is amazing. Washer and drier worked great too. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I would ONLY ask the manager to replace the art work that may not be appropriate for children. Thanks a lot!

The property is as described and you can just walk to the local shops, restaurants and the beach. There’s only two things I will like to point out, they have the slowest Wi-fi ever and I wish they would of say at front you have to pay for parking. The description does not mention you have to pay around 15 U.S. dollars per day, I got the notice right before my check in, too late to look for another option. Overall the condo and the area are great!

Super nice place!

Everything as described. The place is very comfortable and roomy! Cleaning service is a plus! Well equipped and with a nice terrace. The pool downstairs was great for the kids. Excellent choice would recommend and come back!

Excellent location and view of the ocean

The condo was clean, fresh, and in a perfect location. The living room and master bedroom had a lovely view of the ocean and we got to enjoy both the sunrise and sunsets from there. We walked everywhere and got to explore with ease and proximity to everything. We loved it and would stay at Reef 302 again!

Great place

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much . The place is safe and clean. The unit we stayed in was amazing ! Had everything we needed . The only thing was that the washer and dryer did not work . We hope it will be fixed by the time we return.

On vacation having to worry about fees if anything is missing or using the wrong towels for the pool or the shower. Washer not working and starting at random times of the night and dryer not drying. Great location and great place just not this specific room

El condominio es exactamente lo que ves en la imagen, muy bonito, espacioso para mi familia (esposa y 2 hijas). Una muy buena ubicacion en playa del carmen, cercas de todo. La vista es excelebte y el servicio por igual. Definitivamente si vuelvo!!!

Great location

Overall, we absolutely loved this place! Perfect location on the beach and close to tons of shopping and restaurants. We loved the pool and grounds and the patio/view. We had a few issues (mostly the lack of some basic condo supplies), all of which we brought to the attention of the property manager. Most were resolved but a few were ignored. When we first walked in to the condo with the bellman, there was a thick sanitizing fog throughout the condo that burned our eyes and throats. It took about 6 hours of leaving all windows and doors open, and the fans on, before the air was mostly cleared. The clothes dryer was very noisy and took two hours to dry one load, and left the load smelling like rotting seaweed. Speaking of seaweed, our beach was unswimmable due to the huge amount of seaweed. However, further down the beach to the right was better. Again, the condo and location and views were absolutely fantastic, and we'll definitely plan to stay again.
