Very nice secluded setting. Six adults 55 stayed for two nights, and we’re all pleased with the rental. If, and when we’re back in the Canaan Valley area, we would definitely be interested in staying here again.

Perfect Getaway!

What an amazing home to visit and perfect for experiencing a good snowfall. We so enjoyed the amenities -- hot tub / two bathrooms / gas fireplace! And having ample toys and games available for our kids was a huge plus. We would definitely recommend it!

A True Retreat

We were so grateful for the opportunity to stay at Bear Cub Retreat. Having the privacy at the dead end road, great Mountain Views, & amenities like the hot tub, fireplace, wildfire, record player, games, etc all made the home away from home a treat! Nature lovers will love the property & area as well.

Relaxing getaway!

We enjoyed the stay at the bear cub retreat! It was a bit disappointing that the hot tub was dirty so we just ended up sticking our feet in. Overall the cabin was a nice quiet retreat, and gave for a nice view and lots of deer right in the yard!

Secluded mountain getaway with a family touch

We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Cub Retreat! When we arrived, we found some games and kids toys which was amazing for our little kids! We loved the view, hot tub, and the swing seat. It was nice being able to spend time as a family with homey touches!

Great small getaway house

Isolated from the main Canaan Valley area it was a great little getaway with a great view of the mountain off the fronr porch. Easy to get to anywhere amd everywhere from house. Definitely consider using again for a couples trip

Perfect Getaway!

This was the perfect location for our long weekend getaway! It has the most beautiful view that you can enjoy from the hot tub or from inside the house. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. I couldn’t imagine a better place to disconnect. We loved it!

Great place

We visit the Dolly Sods area often, and this is our first stay at this property. It was a great property—a very private location with plenty of space inside and to walk around outside. We saw more wildlife at the house than we did hiking up in Dolly Sods. The house was great. I have only two things I would say would be nice as improvements. One is some more small/medium pots and pans. There are a couple, but their non-stick is gone, and I couldn't find a regular-size spatula that someone hadn't melted the edges, just a mini one. The other thing is the internet was extremely slow. I have stayed at places even in the same homestead, so I was a little perplexed until I left and saw they had a video camera pointing at the driveway. That probably takes up most of the bandwidth because it is just DSL. Starlink would be better if streaming video cameras. To me, neither is worth reducing a 5 rating. I just wish I knew about the pots/utensils so I could have brought some. We are in the mountains to get away, so the internet is not a high priority, but with work and in today's world, sometimes you just need it because there is no cell service. I would definitely rent the place again.

Beautiful Cabin and nice Hot tub for guest

My kids did enjoy their self I do like that items was offer just in case u didn't bring which was amazing because it was right where u needed it. Beautiful spacious cabin with lots of outdoor space and nice beautiful view. in a private area as described, But there was no A.C until I got to the cabin and seen only ceiling fans which was really hot the 3days me and my family stayed I seen A.C off for summer only winter which was crazy to me the kids was so hot they wanted to stay outdoors because it was much more shade blowing then indoors. then out of no where water was turned off the day before my check out I was so upset I called maintenance and no one came out I was told go to the circuit box switch the water pump off then back on I did the water came out slowly for minutes then off again that was very uncomfortable especially with out water to drink indoor. if there was a water shortage line I would have stayed in another place that wasn't right at all and should be corrected before another guest experience this problem during there stay iam sorry but it was not ok for me especially the price for this not to be addressed to others and myself but it was a experience to remember...

Amazing Views

The house and property were beautiful, absolutely loved it. If you enjoy cooking, as I do, the kitchen was lacking; you will need to bring any and all spices. They do keep a small variety of K-Cups though and that was nice. Having one bathroom was a bit tough for 4 if us, 2 being older teenagers, but the views and available activities made up for any short falls there may have been.
