Stay in the heart of Kailua-Kona where the island experience starts right outside your door. This ground-floor studio at the charming, plantation-style Kona Islander Inn is ideal for guests seeking location, convenience, and value. You can walk to over 50 restaurants, cafés, shops, tours, and nightlife within minutes, and a sandy beach just across the street offers easy access to sea turtles and Kona’s unforgettable sunsets. If you’re looking for a no-car-needed stay where you can explore, dine, and relax with ease, this is the perfect home base.

Designed as a comfortable place to recharge between adventures, the Hawaiian-themed studio features a queen bed with a 12-inch medium-firm memory foam mattress, a futon sofa bed for additional guests, strong air conditioning, unlimited high-speed WiFi, a private patio, and a compact kitchenette for light meals. The Kona Islander Inn also offers a pool, hot tub, BBQ grills, and on-site laundry for your convenience. The space is a cozy and efficient studio layout in an unbeatable location, with a compact refrigerator and sink that is shared between the kitchenette and bathroom, which is common in this setup.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM or late check-out between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM may be available for $30 plus Hawaii state tax, subject to availability. Let us know in advance and we will do our best.

Parking at Kona Islander Inn is limited and first-come, first-served (free with permit). After 3–4 pm, on-site spots often fill up but parking along Kuakini Hwy is perfectly safe, free, and common in downtown Kona.

Very private unit. Probably the most private, quiet and beautiful unit on the property. Super comfortable bed. Lots of restaurants and the ocean very very close!! Town is walking distance and lovely. Highly recommend this unit.

Great location in the center Kona's entertainment district & waterfront along Ali'i Dr. So many restaurants, gift shops, coffee shops & stores are a short walk from the Kona Islander Inn. The condo suited our needs during our stay & communication with the host was easy & fast.

Lovely spot in the heart of paradise

We had a lovely time using this as our home base to explore Kona, celebrate the holidays, and soak up a slower pace. Coffee on the patio, a cozy bed after a day of exploring - perfect for what we needed!

When choosing accommodation in Kona, 3 criteria were important to me: 1. interior comfort (furniture condition, availability of household appliances, and toiletries, so you don't have to lug everything around); 2) proximity to restaurants and shops; 3) availability of parking so you can explore the island by car. My wife and I traveled together and we're happy with our choice. The apartment has all the necessary appliances (my wife especially appreciated the iron and coffee machine 😊), nice and comfortable furniture, an excellent mattress, pillows, and a blanket. The room's location within the complex is good (roadside rooms are exposed to the rumble of cars or lively groups). I'd especially like to mention the terrace. It's very green and cozy! We loved having breakfast there! The owner is quick to respond. I highly recommend it!

Escape from Alaska winter

Conveniently located at the center of the Ali'i Drive strip. Clean and well maintained property with a mix of vacationers and permanent residents. The pool is secluded from any outside traffic and noise. Parking is limited. Laundry facilities are adequate but the change machine and supplies dispenser were inoperative. The combined bathroom, shower and kitchen did not lend itself to cooking meals. The small refrigerator did not have a freezer. We ate snacks and had a restaurant meal once a day. Overall a relaxing vacation.
