Mission Bay is a premier location in San Diego, with 19 miles of sandy beaches, 14 miles of bike paths, a network of channels, islands, coves and wildlife preserves, and a huge number of recreational activities right on your doorstep.
The panoramic views of Mission Bay are spectacular. Whether you are watching the sunrise in the morning, the sail boats that glide back and forth in front of the house throughout the day, looking out over the blissfully quiet beach and mirror-like calm waters of the bay at sunset, or watching the explosive Seaworld fireworks at night.
When we purchased this property our kids were much younger, and the close and easy proximity to the beach was a major factor. They were able to walk right out of the patio gate and onto the beach without crossing a road. When they were playing on the beach, we could actually keep an eye on them from the patio, or from inside the house. We are a family who love water sports and it is extremely convenient to be able to ‘park’ a Hobie Cat, recreational boat or kayak on the beach right in front of your home.
We were looking for a home in a quiet and safe neighborhood, and Mission Bay is one of the only beach communities in Southern California that offers this. If we want to spend time on the livelier and noisier boardwalk and Mission Beach, it is only 2 small blocks away.
Parking at any beach city in Southern California can be problematic. As a result, we wanted the ability to be able to park our car at the Beach House and not have to drive anywhere. Our location puts us within walking, biking or skateboarding distance of many restaurants, shops and recreational activities that we might need.
