Mediterranean Masterpiece

With contemporary Mediterranean design, Rancho Maroma is a five bedroom architectural masterpiece built by noted vineyard architect, Robert Mehl. This vacation home is situated on a hilltop overlooking the entire Santa Ynez Valley, the serene 270-degree views simply take your breath away. Relax in luxury in the beautiful courtyard next to the fireplace or sunbathe by the pool and hot tub. Either way, you will surely enjoy every minute spent at this completely private estate.

Rancho Maroma is a green home 50 percent powered by solar panels and uses eco-friendly paint. Its thick adobe plaster is an energy efficient material that absorbs energy from the sun and radiates through the home when the weather gets cool, and in warmer months the material helps hold the coolness in the home from the previous night.

For the adventurer in you, take a walk down the country road surrounded by the property’s 20 beautiful acres. Once you return, shower off outside in the master bedroom’s outdoor privacy shower if you wish. Only six minutes to the city of Los Olivos and surrounded by renowned vineyards such as Roblar, Bridlewood, and Brander, there is no excuse not to get out and sightsee! Cozy and inviting yet clean and modern, this five bedroom, three and a half bath home was built to make nature and artwork be seen through every window and door as you relax and take it all in.

**Pool is not heated, inquire with host about heating the pool**

***Prior to the recent Santa Barbara County ordinance restricting short term rentals (31 days or less), this home has always been rented as a 5 bedroom property, accommodating up to 10 adults. Current code only allows 6 adults ( in 3 bedrooms)—additional children are allowed, up to maximum of 10. We abide by this ordinance. Rentals of 31 days or more allow up to 10 adults. We want to accurately disclose that this home is larger than a 3 bedroom home, for those seeking 31 days or more rent.

Hired Transportation

**Hired Tour Vans and Buses are prohibited for pick up and drop off in the West Oak Trails Community and on the Rancho Maroma property. Violation of this will result in forfeiture of your security deposit. If you plan to hire a wine tour transportation company, please make arrangements to have the tour bus pickup and drop-off at a different location.**

Our 2 adult kids and their young families met here to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. We all enjoyed the beautiful property, close to wineries and local restaurants. The house was perfect for enjoying family time. Our host, Wendy, made our stay great by answering any questions we had before and during our visit. The home was spectacularly beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The common space was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace and sitting outside looking at the sunset. The attention to detail in the home decor was impressive. There were so many beautiful areas to sit and enjoy the beauty of the area. We did not want to leave the house to sight see. I would definitely book again. The photos did not do it justice.

Incredible Spot

Our family had an amazing time here. It’s close to Los olivos and Santa Ynez, and yet tucked away up in the hills. Very serene and peaceful. The pool was gorgeous. The open floor plan allowed for lots of great dinners together.

Incredible Stay!

Everything we wanted and expected

We stayed for 3 nights with an extended family group. We loved the house and found it to be everything we hoped for. The host responded promptly when we contacted them, we found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the area. We hope to visit again.

Perfect family get away

Our family and friends fit perfectly in the house. The house has a really easy functioning kitchen with all the table settings and equipment you could want. The grounds are amazing with beautiful vistas to enjoy. Lots of small seating areas with stunning views. Would highly recommend this property for families wanting to appreciate gorgeous views and fabulous accommodations. The property manager was very responsive and helpful!!

Stunning home

Family Wine and Food get together

The property was reminiscent of the hills of Tuscany. Perched amongst the Oak and Olive trees, the privacy made for a relaxing time with family. The homes layout was perfect for gathering around a kitchen as we cooked and made golden times together. Just a quick jaunt from the downtown Los Olivos tasting rooms and El Rancho market, made returning to the property that much more pleasant.

Stunning Views and Home

My family and I were blown away by the views in every direction, the modern Spanish style interior of the home, and the numerous outdoor areas including by the courtyard and pool. After a day of wine tasting it was simply magical to drive up to the hilltop home and soak in all the beauty. Wendy, the property manager was amazing and super responsive.

Wonderful getaway

The views from this property could not be more gorgeous, and it feels like you've been transported to another universe where you're the only living beings for miles (other than a few friendly animals) - we loved every minute of it, and we can't wait to return. Our group ranged in age from 3 - 43, and everyone had a wonderful time. The hosts were also very communicative and helpful. Thank you!

Most Magical Home

We stayed at the home for a girls retreat and it was one of the most magical properties! The views were incredible, and we enjoyed the gorgeous backyard, pool and hot tub. The home fit the description perfectly and we had plenty of room for a large group to fit comfortably. Wendy and Pam were very communicative and attentive throughout the entire process and available any time we had a question. Cannot wait to visit this property again!

Perfect Family Retreat Property

What a wonderful serene and relaxing property. We traveled with family for a wine country getaway and we are so happy we chose this stunning home. The home is well equipped and has a well equipped kitchen. We will absolutely return in the future. One nice attribute is the separate sleeping room wings. We loved the courtyard design and the the single level made it easy for my parents to get around. We also enjoyed cooking and the pool and spa are lovely. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Amazing house and views

This is an excellent house for a family or a several couples. The views are incredible and the property itself is very impressive. The house is situated on top of a hill among olive trees. There are plenty of spots to gather outside and enjoy the views and the sunsets. There is even a bocce court. The house itself is in great condition and has all the amenities one would reasonably expect. We had an excellent time and wish we could stay longer.

I was born and raised right here in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. After enjoying my young adulthood in northern CA I moved back to SYV with my husband and young children. I always knew I would come back to raise my kids in the same wonderful area. I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, lake trips and traveling. I love being a host as it keeps me busy, on my toes and I get to interact with really great people while sharing the area that I love the most.

This Mediterranean Masterpiece has the most incredible views and sunsets. It is private and lets you taking in some much of the outdoors at the same time. On launch nights you get to watch the rockets shoot into the sky from Vandeburg Space Force Base, an added treat!!
