Very comfortable house for 7 adulys and a 9 year old. Weather unfortunately was not good for us either day we were there. Would have loved yo use the kayaks etc. Ocean access was easy however the nor-easter was not beach friendly and the pool looked great! Will plan on coming back to Croatoan house for sure! Towels and bedding was extremely nice too!

Lovely house sits right on the sound so view is wonderful! Location to Duck Town is easy. Kitchen extremely well stocked, beautiful wood paneling & vaulted ceiling in open space.. large deck. Comfortable beds. Our favorite house to date at OBX! Thank you!

The perfect location in Duck! Our family had a great stay - we loved having the ability to walk into town and to the beach. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the deck with a beautiful view of the sound, and the sunsets were incredible! The house was clean and comfortable. We would definitely like to stay here again if visiting the outer banks.

Peaceful and very relaxing! The kitchen had everything we needed! Being on the sound is simply amazing and relaxing, easy access to the beach. We love the pool.

Best time!!!

We absolutely loved our time at Croatoan! The home was absolutely spotless, roomy, and had everything we needed. We had a cracked toilet seat and the screened porch screen was ripped, within hours both were fixed. The sunset views at night were unmatched. Loved having the pool access and close proximity to walk to Sunset Grille or shops in Duck.

One of our most enjoyable stays at OBX!!!

This property is a gem that I only wish we would’ve discovered sooner!!! Our family has been vacationing here for over 20 years and this hit as the all-time favorite! The pictures don’t even do it justice! The views are something out of a magazine! Everything has been thought of and provided! My kids loved paddle boarding & kayaking at sunset! Beds are comfy and everything was so easy to use! We will definitely book again! THANK YOU to the hosts!!! Such special memories!

Sunset Central!

Great location on the sound with amazing sunsets! The family gathered on the deck every night to watch the sun slip away. While there was a heat wave this week, the beach was exceptional. The water was crystal clear, temp around 73-76 which cooled you off. Rays, dolphins, fish everywhere. Our grandkids loved it!The only negative is the deck furniture is ready for replacement. Hopefully, we will be back again next year to make more family memories.

What a special, memorable (as always!) stay at Ship’s Watch! It has become our home away from home. Each of us 6 ladies loves to cook and the kitchen is not only well stocked, the beautiful dishes make meals feel special! The comfort and charm is perfect! All 6 of us can watch movies comfortably and we have plenty of space in the bedrooms and baths as well. We will return every year we can! My husband spoils us with this treat each year!

Outstanding Property

Exceptional sound view and location within a short walk to Duck shops. The house and amenities provided by the hosts are top drawer. The hosts have provided their guests with every amenity they could possibly need or want to ensure their guests have a relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Five Star without question.

Currituck Sound sunsets

Property was very clean and comfortable. Owner answered emails promptly. Would stay again. If you are a stargazer, light pollution all night (!) from the nearby Sunset Grill pier is an issue. Location is very convenient to all things Duck!

So relaxing and quiet. The sound had so few boats - tons of birds. Beautiful home, fantastic ocean, and a wonderful OBX retreat.

Beach Week with the kids!

Mild temperatures for the end of July in the OBX with daily or nightly rain. Great beach, sound and pool weather. Beautiful sunsets on the sound on the evenings with no rain…you can’t beat the view! Our son and grandson enjoyed crabbing and kayaking the sound. The Croatoan is the best!

A little piece of heaven

We were 5 sisters excited for our yearly get away. This year we chose the Outerbanks. We were thrilled with our choice upon arrival to Duck, NC. The house was a perfect fit. Comfy, cozy and all on one floor. We were one big happy family. Kayaking was a highlight. Being able to float right off the property into the sound. The sound side vs the ocean side was a great choice. You can lose yourself in its serenity.

Lady B’s to the Beach!

There were 6 of us ladies and we have unanimously decided this is our destination of choice for each summer! The house is spacious and perfectly laid out. Well stocked kitchen and Ella is the most gracious hostess! Beautiful views and everything close by!

Checked all the boxes!

This house was perfect for my family (six adults, 1 toddler) - we loved the short walk to the Duck boardwalk and easy access to the beach, and the Sound views were stunning. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, etc. and we enjoyed eating on the screened-in porch.

Wonderful Thanksgiving get-away

Croatoan was a wonderful place to spend the holiday with our family. The home is spacious and the flow of the floor plan allows for quiet sleeping quarters. Best of all, though, was the view, with the sound visible through windows all across the back of the house. A great experience all around, and we would rent again!

We live in Columbia, MD. My husband is a structural engineer and I am an anesthesiologist. We have two daughters, one lives in Vancouver and the other is a registered nurse in Baltimore, MD. We all love the beach and water sports.

We discovered Duck over 20 years ago and kept coming back every chance we got. We always rented a house on the sound side because we love to windsurf and it was easy to access the water. We love our location in Duck because of the beautiful sunsets on the sound, and it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Ships Watch community has great amenities
including a great pool and tennis courts.

The Sunset Grill Restaurant is a close walk from our house and Tommie's Market is very convenient for shopping.
