Welcome to the Carriage House Apartment!

This lovely guest house apartment sleeps 1-2 guests for true hospitality, has a designer's touch, is tastefully furnished, and is ideal for artists, business-travelers, energy-healers, explorers, globe-trotters, magicians, meditators, minimalists, musicians, poets, writers, self-reflection-types, songwriters, spiritual-gurus … and Lovebirds.

The 1 BR, 1 BA apartment is private and completely separate from the main house - with its own private entrance. The bed is super-comfy and linens are plush and cozy. A spacious and open living room includes original built-ins and oak hardwood floors, space for working remotely, and 42" flat-screen smart-TV.

Home is available for nightly, weekly and monthly rental.

Loved the location, especially because we are avid cyclists providing easy access to the harbor, bay, downtown and the coast north.The place was cozy and clean. One of our favorite restaurants in the city (Fort Oak) was a short walk.

Well appointed and maintained space in a cute San Diego neighborhood. The property appeared to be a guest space attached to the main house with a private access. The host was equally responsive and discreet onsite which I really appreciated. Would return in the future if another weekend trip comes up.

First personal visit to San Diego- super cute apt- small, but well cared for and very clean. Lots of great walkable restaurants, bars. Easy parking right out front. Quiet street, very safe. I’d feel very comfortable walking there by myself. The no door bathroom was a little funny, but nothing that wasn’t easily managed as the bathroom sits in the back of the apartment. We’ll be back!

Prefect Stay

Not one issue. The location was prefect for me in a nice neighborhood and walking distance to restaurants, etc. The property was just the right size and feel for me as a business solo traveller.

Mission Hills San Diego Trip

Beautiful newly refurbished, very clean, and fully equipped apartment. A quality rental in one of the best neighborhoods in San Diego. Super nice host who stays in touch and is easy to contact. It’s a cozy apartment that we will rent again.

Super cute

We loved this place! We called it our doll house. It’s cozy for two and we enjoyed it. I do wish there was a little more privacy as the front door and most of the windows are not covered but other than that we had a great stay.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful neighborhood

We came to San Diego to visit friends and family in the neighborhood after moving away nine years ago. The apartment was a perfect base for all our activities. The bed was comfy. The kitchen is well equipped. We had many nice walks in the neighborhood.

Location Location!!

Nicely appointed & updated apartment in a quiet Mission Hills desirable neighborhood. Loved the driving proximity to our destinations that included downtown, Old Town, the harbor, Balboa Park & Petco Field. The apartment was well equipped, a comfortable bed & good shower! Thanksgiving in San Diego

This apartment is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. It is conveniently located on a quiet tree-lined street, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Plenty of natural light, spotlessly clean, nicely updated and a very comfortable bed. Larry the host is very responsive. Ample parking available on the street. Bathroom is "compact" and access stairs may be a bit steep if elderly.

I chose this location for its proximity to my rental property, the airport, and for its safety (I walked early; returned late). The area is relatively quiet (school nearby). There is ample street parking; school traffic at certain times. This area is rife with nearby restaurants and coffee places. I enjoy cooking; preferred to dine in. The kitchen is small but workable (no oven). * Dimmable lights * a huge plus in my opinion. Larry was readily available and responded quickly. There was an airy space and a lot of natural light. I would definitely stay here again.

Mission Hills Carriage House Apartment

My husband and I stayed five nights at Rodney and Larry's Mission Hills carriage house apartment, visiting friends in the area. The apartment is lovely - exactly like the photos. It is immaculately clean and in a great location in Mission Hills - wonderful neighborhood -,an easy walk to many local restaurants and cafe's. Both Rodney and Larry were professional and responsive. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Beautiful neighborhood!

Beautiful location, clean, bright and airy rooms. Close to Old Town San Diego and within minutes of Cornado Beach. A couple of downsides, only travel with someone you are very comfortable with, there are NO DOORS, including on the bathroom!! ( heads up - could be quite awkward!!)If you are looking to cuddle up and watch a movie this is not the spot. However, if you are looking for a clean, beautiful spot in an equally beautiful & quiet neighborhood to drop your bags and have adventures from, this is a great place! We enjoyed our stay.

Mission Hills is located on hills just south of the San Diego River valley and north of downtown San Diego, overlooking Old Town, Downtown San Diego, and San Diego Bay. The area is primarily residential, with boutique shops and restaurants along Washington Blvd. and in other clusters. The oldest parts of the neighborhood consist mainly of houses from the 1908-1930 period, in Craftsman, Prairie School, Spanish Colonial Revival and other styles. Enjoy your visit!
