We loved being at this home. It served our need well to gather with our extended family for a reunion. We appreciated a well equipped kitchen… gathering around the outdoor fire… it was all quite wonderful. Extremely family friendly.

A bit out there in the hills, but what an amazing property. Feels like stepping back in time. Amazingly appointed, every thing a chef needs in the kitchen. Beautiful grounds and very quiet. Thanks for the hospitality.

We had a family gathering and enjoyed every minute. Communication was easy and we felt very welcome. The house is spacious, but feels cozy with lots of comfortable places to sit and chat or read - inside or out on the patio. We cooked/grilled our meals and enjoyed the large dining area on the patio.The drive is easy to San Luis Obispo shops, but the wildlife and complete silence up on the hill is so relaxing it makes you want to stay and enjoy the views! Highly recommend!!

It was a beautiful house to stay in with my family and myself. They had a lot of fun, we felt very comfortable. The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. On the way up there, it was a little tricky, but we found the house.

We were attending an event just down the road so it was a perfect location for us. There was plenty of room for us to spread out, and the kitchen facilities were great. Liked the fact that there was a crockpot to use!Would definitely recommend the rental especially if you like to hike and explore the surrounding hills and the fact that you are located where there aren't any close "neighbors", which we really did! give this rental a big thumbs up!

Great property, very quiet!

The house is great and very well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. Backyard is great with plenty of seating. House is off the beaten path and gravel road, so just be prepared. It was a great size for our group.

Unique property and experience. Couldn’t pick a better place for our family getaway. In the middle of no where while being close to the best of SLO at the same time. Will be booking again. Thank you Chuck:)

Beautiful Country Home

The property is in a country setting but yet a short drive to town and attractions. You can sit on the lovely outdoor patios and see deer, beautiful hawks,eagles and so many owls in the evening. If you love bird watching it’s a great place. The home is very well taken care of and clean with plenty of room. If you love the outdoors and the quiet of nature this is a great place. We really enjoyed and would stay again.

Enjoyed Country Setting

We loved the combined kitchen, dining room, setting area. The surrounding area was great - we saw wild turkeys, deer, rabbits. Very peaceful! Property was everything as listed except not much closet space. Chuck was very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this property.

We brought my parents and my adult children and it worked out pretty well. The property is nice and clean, but also a bit dated. The downstairs master off the kitchen was perfect for my parents who are close to 80. The upstairs bedrooms were spacious, but the master bath upstairs was not enough. We had our 4 adult children use the main bath at the bottom of the stairs. There was wood for fires at night, both inside and outside in their lovely yard. It was a comfortable place for a family stay.

This was a wonderful, homey rental for a group to gather, cook and share meals, and enjoy outdoor living areas. It feels very remote but as others have mentioned it is very easy to drive into town. We loved the breakfast room nook for reading and watching the birds and squirrels at the feeder, the large outdoor dining table and BBQ grill, the fire pit, and all of the seating areas under the grape arbor. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking big family meals. There are two en-suite bedrooms. Downstairs is a queen sized bed and upstairs is a king with the laundry access through the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The other two upstairs bedrooms use a large bathroom on the first floor. That wasn’t an issue for us but if someone has mobility issues, going up and downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night might be a challenge. It’s important to heed the owner’s warnings about ticks. Our family loves to hike and we had several ticks. There was a lot of wildlife due to the remoteness, which added adventure! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Relaxing Ranch Retreat

Well appointed rustic ranch retreat with a European flavor. Location is wonderful and quiet on a large ranch tucked away in a valley with wonderful hillside trail at your front door. Great outdoor patio for grilling and sitting by the fire. Kitchen is well equipped. Home is big enough for are party of seven to spread out. Single upstairs bathroom is only downside but more than made up by rest of amenities.

Wonderful home!

We rented the home for a Christmas holiday get-together with our Northern California family and Southern California family. It was wonderfully comfortable and had everything we needed. Our hosts even had the house decorated for the holiday, which was a real treat! I especially appreciated the kitchen, which is well stocked with dishes and cookware. Overall peaceful and wonderful. Thanks so much for the attention to detail!

Hidden gem

We picked it for Cal Poly family weekend and bring the dogs without bothering anyone. It was perfect. It is a trek, especially at night since there are no lights and it’s tough to read instructions if you’re driving alone. Lol But, it was perfect… short drive to campus and downtown. We heard and saw coyotes, birds of prey…outdoor set up was great too. Would book again.

Plenty of peace and quiet

Remote location affords a peaceful stay. House was reasonably equipped, including propane grill not mentioned in listing. Not the best sleeping situation for seniors as the only bathroom upstairs is in master bedroom for the 5 beds upstairs. The main downstairs bathroom is also the pass through to the back yard. Works but peculiar. Nevertheless, the rental worked well for our friends gathering.

What a fantastic location!

There were a total of 6 of us that stayed at this Vrbo and we all absolutely loved it! The property is meticulously maintained and there's so much of their family history in the way of furnishings, photos and books to explore. We walked around on the property and took full advantage of the outdoor seating and firepit. The location is just a couple minutes outside of SLO so it was easy to all go into town one night for a dinner celebration. All in all it's a fabulous location and a Vrbo hidden gem.

Lovely home and surroundings.

Super impressive property that makes you feel like you far away from the city. Quiet, so peaceful and spacious. Loved seeing the wild turkeys, quails and deers.
