This was an ideal location and property. The view, deck, firepit and enough woods for privacy but didn’t feel scary secluded. Nice houses on both sides. 3 women felt very safe. Property manager was great w communication. Only 35 miles to Acadia and great to come back and unwind and relax. Would definitely stay again!

Easy check in. Spacious driveway can hold 2-3 cars. Entry key was waiting for us in the lock box on front porch. The lawn/landscaping was lovely, with a loaded (with dry logs) fire pit in the back yard. A new stairway leads down to the beach! We got some GREAT photos of the sunrise from the beach!!! The home is modern and clean with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked, including with an array of spices and coffee/tea and accoutrements. It is about a 40 minute drive to Acadia from here. Don’t forget to visit the very local Tidal Falls on your way to or from Acadia!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable, and had an excellent view. We appreciated the collection of books and board games, along with the fire pit for relaxing in the evenings. We enjoyed walks on the beach, collecting sea glass at Carter’s Beach, and the easy access to hikes in Acadia National Park. The location was convenient — close to Walmart for provisions and an easy drive to Bar Harbor for the lighthouse and puffin boat tour. Overall, an excellent location and stay.

Great Stay on the Bay

We had stayed in the area previously, and we really enjoyed finding and staying at Seashells. It was the perfect spot for our family of four to unwind and come back to after a day of exploring. The views to the bay are simply beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Erica, I am happy to hear that the Cottage is all that is was expected to be and more :). The good thing about Maine is that despite the drive time to get to places, there is always something beautiful to see along the road; wildlife, bodies of water, flowers, etc. Also am happy for you that you got to experience some time in Acadia! It is so breath takingly beautiful. We hope to help to assist in any future vacations. Acadia is known to be a top spot to visit during the fall season as well with all the fall colored leaves that mirror off the water. Have a wonderful rest of your summer! Cheers! :)

We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage! The views were incredible—some of the most beautiful sunrises we’ve ever seen right from the property. The cottage was exactly as described in the VRBO listing and was exceptionally clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. We especially enjoyed relaxing around the fire pit in the evenings, and it was such a fun surprise to find sea glass along the shoreline. The host was wonderful to work with, providing great communication before and during our stay. While the cottage is about a 30–40 minute drive from Bar Harbor, we found it to be an easy and scenic drive each day.If you’re looking for a peaceful waterfront getaway with amazing views, this is the place. We would absolutely stay here again! The sunrise , water views, and cozy evenings by the fire made this a memorable part of our Maine anniversary trip.

A quiet and relaxing getaway

We loved this property! The charming A-frame acted as a great home base for our activities in the area, and there were books and other things to do supplied for those rainy rainy days. It's not far to town, and a reasonable drive to Bangor and Bar Harbor. Located in a quiet neighborhood, we couldn't hear or see the neighbors, and the beach in the property made for good exploring at lower tides. Thank you!

Acadia Getaway

This home had it all! We loved the big picture windows looking out to the water! Our girls are 10 and loved going down to the water and skipping rocks or looking for sea glass during low tide. The home had everything we needed to cook some meals and sleep comfortably. The location was great also! 40-45 minutes to Acadia and Bar Harbor and gorgeous views along the way! We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice.

House was very nice, clean, and very comfortable. Hancock Point is beautiful. Frenchman's Bay was deafeningly quiet during the week except for the howl of a colony or two of seals during low tide on the rocks. Bean Island in the middle is a nice calm 10-15 minute paddle out in the morning. Would definitely do this again!

It was lovely staying here, it’s so nice to sit on the deck looking out at the water. Couldn’t find the second key, though we didn’t need it. It is not a quick trip to Acadia and we knew that going in. It was like staying at my parents place but that’s where the fifth star is missing, the property is a little dated. The kitchen was up dated with a nice convection stove though.

Hope that you were able to make some yummy dishes and put it to good use. In regards to the key, I apologize if there was any inconvenience there with not having access to a second key. Happy to hear though that even with that, the stay was a pleasurable one and that you were able to enjoy some of the beauty of Maine :)

I am hoping you visited Carters Beach, 3 miles from the house. Schoodic Point? A part of Acadia National Park that is a must see! Ellsworth? 5 miles with lots of restaurants, antique shops, and things to do. I am sure you saw this, it is all in the guest book at the house. Were you able to use the firepit under the clear Maine skies? Take in the waterfront or seaglass hunt in front of the house? I hope so!! Thank you for the 4 stars, we will make sure that we deserve 5 stars next time!! Simply Rentals USA

Didn’t want to leave!

This place was just want our family needed. House was exactly as advertised with a brand new fire pit. Bald eagles hang out in the trees, we saw seals, harbor porpoises, and maybe something a little bigger out in the water. My girls found plenty of seaglass, shells and crabs along the beach. Bar Harbor and plenty of places to eat about 40 minutes away. Remote, but beautiful place to be, especially on a clear night I’ve never seen so many stars! Owners responded quickly even though we had no major issues. I highly recommend this place!
