Jennifer - first thank you for being a good guest and I appreciate that you choose our home for your Breck stay. It would appear that our home was not a good fit for your personal taste. You are the first 3 star review we have received out of 66 guest since 2015. My sincere apology that you had a 3 star experience when most of our guest have an average of a 4.8 star experience. I personally stayed in our home just days before your arrival. I wanted to address some of your comments. 1) I do not use the shower that had the clogged drain. Sometimes drains clog. It was unfortunate occurrence and glad we could address while you were there. 2) I think the only furniture with stains you could possibly be referring to would be the dining room chair seats. I apologize for that. We had some guest with small childern over the summer. My cleaners did the best they could to remove the spots. We are waiting for an upholstery cleaner to get us on his schedule. All the sofa's in the house are brand new. In fact, you were the very first guest to use the new sofas. There were absolutely zero stains on those sofas as I had just received and unpacked them myself days before your arrival. Other than that, I don't know what other furniture you could possibly be referencing. 3) Dated property: Unfortunately you would need to be more specific. All of my photos are accurate and represent what you will find upon check in. If the photos did not made our home look dated when you made your decision, I'm not sure what changed after you arrived. There should have been no surprises upon arrival. As I mentioned, the sofas upstairs and down stairs are brand new. This is our family home. We have owned the home for years. We replace furniture as needed. The interior was recently remodeled within the last several years. The exterior was just painted last year. Sheets & bedding rep[lace after every season. 4) Mouse traps - being in a rural area we do deal with mice. I pay Orkin quarterly to maintain our pest control program so that our guest do not need to deal with mice or bugs. That pest control program does include mice traps. These traps are kept behind furniture & out of sight. I'm not sure why you would have seen any of the traps unless you were looking behind or underneath furniture. 5) Mold smell in the basement: Again I was staying in our home and worked several hours in the basement building the new wardrope and installing a new TV days before your arrival. There was no smell of mold while I was there. I will be at the property again next week and will investigate what you might have been smelling and address as needed. It is a basement and may have a different scent that the other areas of the house. Thank you for your candid comments. Regards, Scott

Mary Ann - As you mentioned, I am quick to respond. Unfortunately you never contacted me regarding the channel challenges you were having. All TV's get all channels. A simple phone call to me or my maintenance guy could have been a 5 minute fix! Please call next time. And we deliberately choose to not have a TV on the main level. It's the family social area - dining, fireside chats and family games with out the electronic distractions. TV's in all bedrooms & downstairs family room for those in the mood for electronic entertainment. .

Glenn I appreciate your opinions and feedback. - Your are correct and as clearly represented with our photos, there is no master bedroom. - The upstairs shower is a standard size corner shower. The jetted tub takes up a lot of the space. I too am 6'4"/225 lbs and have used that shower regularly for years. A shower stall just doesn't photograph well & I'm sorry you needed to use the other bathroom. - We deliberately have no TV on the main level as a family choice. We appreciate conversation, games, eating and hanging out without the TV distraction. There are 4 other TVs in this 3 bedroom house. - Regarding WiFi - we have the best that Comcast can provide to this area of Breckenridge. I have spent a lot of time with my friends at Comcast installing the best equipment & service they have to offer. We had a computer design guest spend a month in the house last summer. Internet was important for his working remotely. He never mentioned a problem with the WiFi. Again I'm sorry you did. - The garage remotes are nearly impossible to keep on hand. They have a way of departing as the guest do. But I will take your suggestion into consideration. - The heights of the vanities were determined by the original owner/builder and I have no idea, other that he had younger children, why he made the vanities as he did. We just added granite, new sinks & fixtures and honestly I don't notice the height anymore. Thanks again for staying with us. Safe travels

Hi Mariah, I appreciate that you have taken the time to leave your comments regarding your stay at the Moonstone House Breckenridge. We rarely receive a 3 star review so I am taking time to reply to each of your concerns. 1) The bathroom carpet: There is only partial carpet in one of the 3 bathrooms. The other 2 bathrooms are tile. That partial bathroom carpet and all the carpets in the house were just deep cleaned on 10/27/2021. You were the 3rd guest to step foot on the professionally cleaned carpets. I personally checked all the carpets after they were cleaned and my cleaner vacuums every cleaning, we have never noticed a problem or received a complaint. 2) the locked doors: Most of the doors that you observed locked are owners closets. Some of these closets contain supplies like toilet paper etc and it has been our experience since 2014 that these supplies have a way of disappearing if not locked. Also understand that we are family that still actively uses our home in Breck. There is a bedroom upstairs that remains locked that contains our family personal items. The locks you are referring too were used historically for families that only wanted to rent part of the house and not use all the bedrooms. I'm sorry this made you feel uncomfortable. 3) Missing tree house keys: Yes I'm sorry the guest prior to you inadvertently took the keys home within them. He mailed them back & they are on the bulletin board again for guest to use. If you had interest in accessing the tree house, a simple call to my property manager or myself could have remedied the problem immediately. 4) Lack of backyard light: There is a spotlight above the BBQ that luminates the BBQ and most of the deck for evening use. In general the neighborhood does not appreciate bright lights on homes in the area as it interferes with star gazing and the general preference to have a natural darkness in the evening. 5) Garage access: Another reoccurring problem. We have attempted to provide garage door openers for our guest use over the years. The investment to continually replace garage remotes that disappeared as guest closed the garage and departed was too problematic. We have had very few guest complain of the need to send someone in to the garage to open the door. Especially when you compare this little inconvenience to leaving a vehicle out in the cold & snow. May I express my appreciation again for choosing to stay in our home for your stay. Regards, Scott

Always a pleasure to hear that our guest had a pleasant experience in our home & in Breckenridge. I wish I would have known about the kiddos getting cold in the basement! The basement has its own thermostat to adjust the temperature in the basement. Additional the gas fireplace/heater in the basement family room has a thermostat as well that can be turned up to heat the entire basement to a toasty comfort level.
