This was our third stay at the Beach Club that provides a convenient, clean, spacious, and particularly well equipped condo, especially the kitchen with its large fridge, microwave, stove top, dishwasher, and full range of small appliances. Since our unit was on the lower level, we had a front porch with seating, a flower box, and enjoyed a reserved parking spot directly in front of our unit. The beach is only about 100 yards from the entrance to the ocean beach which you access by means of a few stairs, followed by a network of wooden ramps which take you either directly to the beach or to a covered platform complete with benches where you have a magnificent view of the ocean, especially in the morning or evening. Our host, Ali, could not have been more gracious. We had booked the condo for two nights in late September to attend a wedding. However, during those two days Long Beach Island was pummeled by a Nor’ Easter, that, while much of the ocean side of the island stayed dry, flooded the bayside, so much so that the wedding and reception had to be canceled and access and egress to and from the island became difficult and/or impossible. This was especially true for us as we were driving a hybrid car with low clearance. As a result, we had to remain on the island for two extra nights. When I called Ali, who was easy to reach, to see if those extra nights were available. She said they were and there would be no charge, a generous, gracious, and, much appreciated kindness.
