We traveled to the SIU area for our daughter's graduation, we could not have been more satisfied with our choice for accommodations. The rental exceeded our expectations, it was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic, located in the wine trail area. The town of Makanda is very close and has some really cool little shops worth visiting. Very nice weekend trip!!!

This was a great location, close to Giant City for hiking and amenities in towns like Cobden and Anna. We used the house for our base while traveling the area to do hiking, eating, and go to wineries. We had stayed here before under different management in 2022 and were very impressed with the changes that were made with the new owners (2026). Everything was clean, comfortable, and easy to understand.

Clean, almost new, secluded and private (other than the other attached unit). Good communication from the host. It was a very pleasant stay and close to all the Shawnee has to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

Born and raised in southern Illinois, I've been blessed to have been able to enjoy our region's charm and unique adventures for over 40 years I'm especially excited to be able to share these experiences with my two young sons. Hiking, horseback riding, fishing, zip lining and more. We absolutely love southern Illinois and all that it has to offer.

I have been working within the tourism industry since 2005. After beginning, what I thought was a seasonal job at a local winery, I fell in love with the Shawnee Hills wine industry and the rest is history. Over the last 19 years, I have helped with a variety of events to help promote and showcase the region to guests.

I'm the marketing and event director for Blue Sky Vineyard, the executive director for the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail and serve as the president of the board of directors for the Southernmost Illinois Tourism Bureau.

A proud supporter of all things local, I can't wait to share what makes southern Illinois so special.

Some of my favorite attractions include the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Giant City State Park, Little Grand Canyon and Rendleman and Flamm Orchards.
