Dory Fishing Weekend

Spent two nights at this house. Very clean and comfortable. Right on the river. Watched elk and geese across the river and a pair of otters playing in the river.

Great for a group of fishing-minded PNWers

Dory Day's Vacation

When we arrived we had to vacume both couches as they had sand and dog hair on them. Lots of cobwebs, had to vacume the ceiling in the living room with daddy longleg spiders. The kitchen was well stocked though. Thank you.

Wonderfully peaceful

What a great location. Paddle boarding off of the doc, views of fields and the river. Close to town and the ocean. Highly recommend!

Family Fun

Overall the property was very good and the location allowed us to visit other locations nearby. It was great being on the river yet close enough to the beach. The only negative side was just having one bathroom for 6 adults and the front and back doors were hard to open because they would stick plus the top step coming in was a little too high so we only used the back door. Other than that it was a nice little house and had everything we needed.

Ok stay

Not as clean as we would have liked but ok. Needed to have spider web cleaned at front door and in need of a spray as well. Found a few spiders inside on walls and floors.

Great river location

We had a great, two-week stay with rotating family guests. The house was plenty big for 5 adults to stay comfortably and we could have added one or two more with no big issues. We really enjoyed the wonderful view of the river from inside, the deck outside, the dock, and the very well appointed kitchen. (Plenty of knives, plates, pans, etc. available unlike our experience at many other rentals.) We grilled and cooked enjoying the local fresh fish, worked (wifi was plenty fast), took our SUPs out from the dock, fished (need a license), rented kayaks from just down river, watched cows and birds, went whale watching in Depoe Bay, walked beaches (very close by and very easy access) and had a generally great time. Only drawback is that the house is on a busy road with no side walk so you have to be mindful walking from the house, but there are many great places nearby with no traffic so we were able to find good walking. You really only notice the traffic if you are walking on the road. Being out back on the river is like being in another world. Hosts were very accommodating, helpful, and responsive. Hope we are lucky enough to stay for even longer next summer.

Great week of fishing, crabbing and relaxing!

Me and my dad stayed here for 4 nights and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Great location, a dock for our boat and everything you would want for a week on the river!

Easy water access and quiet stay

Brought paddle boards and loved the easy access to the river. Great cow pasture backdrop and morning trawlers. Would love to spend another vacation or two here again!

House on the river

Cosy, clean, and comfortable house and deck. Older with nice updates to kitchen and bathroom. Pleasant, responsive owners that promptly took care of a plugged drain. Enjoyed dock on the river. Beware of dangerous road very close to the house, with no sidewalk or much shoulder, where speeding was common.

Cute cottage!

Owners were very friendly and easy to work with. Cottage had some nice extras, like life jackets in assorted sizes. It was a great location between Tillamook and Depoe Bay so we ha slots of activities to choose from without a lot of driving. Beautiful beach was just a few minutes away!

Tranquil

We had a lovely relaxing time. Kitchen had everything you could want. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the river flow with the tide, cows, blue heron, kayaks and fishing boats. Great location. Close to many restaurants, groceries and beach access. Thank you for the hospitality!

Peace and Quiet

We had a very relaxing week in this wonderful beach house. The owners take great pride in the upkeep of this home. It was clean, quality furniture, and well stocked kitchen. Definitely recommend to family and friends.

great location

This house was perfect, had a neat upstairs set up for kids that we didn't look at too much as master bedroom was on main floor. super close to town/beaches/food and awesome river with dock to watch sunsets and massive flocks of geese. Good parking for a boat/trailer at the house if thats how you roll on vacation

Quick Getaway

My daughter and I needed to vacate her home while home improvements were being done. It was last minute and we needed a place that allowed pets. We were lucky to find this cozy home. It was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We had a minor issue. The owners were very responsive and resolved the issue quickly. The home is close to the beach and a small grocery. There are several small bakeries in town and a great pizza place called Doreyland Pizza. An added bonus was a great blue heron that hung out across the river. He was fun to watch with our binoculars. But if you don't have any there is a pair in a drawer in the living room. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

The right place

Excellent place right on Nestucca river. Great view from dinning room of river and dock. Owner/Mangers are great and responded to all our questions. Would return again should the dates work out.

Great place to stay on the river!

Me and my dad stayed three nights here for a fall fishing trip. We were able to use the dock and it was the perfect place to comeback to after a long day on the river. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Lincoln City: Uniquely situated 25 minutes north of Lincoln City with it's shopping, outlet mall and fascinating boutique shops, the Chinook Winds Casino, whale watching boat & charter fishing excursions.
Tillamook: Just 30 minutes south of the city of Tillamook with the Tillamook Cheese and Ice Cream Visitor Center, Blue Heron Cheese and Wine tasting room, Tillamook Air Museum; whale watching and charter fishing, Netarts Bay and Bay City for freshly harvested steamer clams and oysters.
Sandlake Recreational Dunes: Just a few miles away the Sandlake Recreational Area has some of the most popular dunes for your ATV's and buggies. Our driveway is long enough for most ATV trailers for you to enjoy the dunes.

Whale Watching from any of the Capes during the Winter migration of the Gray Whales or the Southern Resident Orcas making their way to Puget Sound, we've got plenty of beach to spot them.
