We love the cottage … been there many times. My only complaint is the Vrbo instructions are difficult for an 87 year old lady. Didn’t get the lock code until we were en route and the I was not good at getting my email on my phone and although I had my iPad I had no Wi-Fi. I need a better method for contacting you with issues.

Our stay was excellent! The location of the Sea Breezes house is great if you want to be in the Northern OBX. You are between Kitty Hawk and Duck so close to many stores and restaurants. You are close to Hwy. 12/Duck Road too, but you are so close to the beach the ocean is the only thing you hear. Being 100ft. from the beach access path is wonderful.Checkin is very easy. There is a very handy booklet explaining everything with the house including use of the TV.What we were unaware of but found to be very cool is you're staying in a historically significant house, an OBX Flat Top Cottage! https://www.flattopsobx.com Frank Stick, a well-known Outer Banks artist and developer, is famous for his "flat top" cottage designs in Southern Shores. These minimalist, square-shaped homes, built in the 1950s, feature distinctive flat roofs, wide overhangs, and Bahama shutters. Stick's vision was to create affordable, stylish homes using local materials like juniper wood and concrete blocks made with beach sand. While many of these original flat tops have been replaced by larger structures, a few remain, and a community effort is underway to preserve them according to the Outer Banks Community Foundation.We would definitely rent here again the next time we head to the Northern Outer Banks!

Super ruhige Lage, sehr nah am Meer. Das antike Häuschen ist mega süss - liebevoll eingerichtet, super ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit Anne war jederzeit super, sehr schnelle Reaktion.Für 4 Personen perfekte Grösse, gute Betten z d alles schön sauber.

Great Location

Really good location, it is a short walk to the beach, short drive to grocery stores and other stores. it was big enough for my family very comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Anne (property manager) was very nice to us. We are already planning the next trip down to the obx and we will definitely be staying over again

Cozy Cottage but needs some attention

The place is located very close to the beach and central so one can easily visit other areas of the Outer Banks. It is a duplex and they don’t have to be loud to hear everything that your neighbors are doing. Mine had a small baby that cried every single night after 10:00 pm. So be aware. If the owners took a better care of details I’d give it 5 stars because the noise is manageable and I did sleep well, but the place is a little run down, they don’t provide any type of linens when every other place does. I had to buy paper towel, toilet paper, shampoo, soap. I am in a road trip, I booked over 10 places…every single one provided all these things except for this one. In summary, I did have a good time but it could have been better.

My stay

It was an old duplex and it hasn’t been updated. The beach was just across the street, which was nice. The internet for the tv was not great, it would stop while we were watching a program. We had to provide our own sheets and towels. Pets were allowed.

Family beach werkend

We had difficulty with the code to enter and the front door jammed so bad it could not be opened. We reached out to owner around 3:15 pm and used the virtual agent to get a phone number. The response did not come until 10:45pm that evening. We Had found another door to enter in back in the meantime and had to walk everything on a narrow boardwalk path to back of house. The best thing about property was the location. Directly across from beach access and close to many outer banks sites like the Wright Brothers memorial, Kull Devil Hills and Duck. Bathroom was small and only a shower. The floor was very dirty when we arrived and we had to clean up. I will say the living areas were nice size and kitchen well equipped. The host also refunded the the service fee since we had so much trouble reaching for entry assistance.

Great location

Property owner is very helpful. The property needs some care with weeds.However we were impressed with the inside. Roomier than it looked. We were all very comfortable. Appreciate we could bring our dogs, who absolutely loved it.

An affordable, funky spot right by the beach

We had a great stay. Check in was seamless and we were thrilled to discover the beach is basically across the street. The property is a bit dated and could use better soundproofing for the adjoining unit, but overall, it more than met our needs. Loved the outdoor shower.

The description was fairly accurate, however, minimal amenities and no evidence to make the stay more personal. Landscape could have been much better. However, it was so accessible to the beach that it made the stay tolerable.

Our favorite!

This is our second time staying at this location. It’s easy to get to, has convenient beach access, and communication with the host was wonderful! Thank you for the restaurant recommendations! We can’t wait to stay with our dogs again - they loved the beach!

Wrong side of property pictured

We booked the “south” unit but all the pictures are the “north” unit. Outdoor area couldn’t be used due to overgrowth and trash, black mold in indoor shower, random person removed the front screen at night which was a surprise, not a clean feeling rental, very disappointed by property owner’s response.

This cottage was bought by my parents, in partnership with my father's best friend from the Navy, Hal. At times it was hard for each to make the payments, but they managed. With 5 kids there was a ready supply of workers to maintain the cottage. Several families from our church also bought cottages or rented cottages regularly and memories of our time on the Outer Banks grew with bonfires on the beach, trips up Jockey's Ridge, Easter egg hunts, and more. When the mortgage was finally paid in full, my folks bought the other side of the duplex and Hal bought another place down the beach. Over the years, the cottage has been expanded and updated with central heating and air conditioning, dishwasher, TV, and Internet access. My mother, Elly, is the owner and my sisters, brother, and I manage the cottage for her.

Location, location, location.... We are literally across the street from the beach access path, (100 yds to the beach). Shopping, restaurants, entertainment, outdoor activities are within a 10 minute drive. Our beaches are clean and not over-crowded. Sea Breezes cottage has unique charm and comfort for individuals, couples, families, girls weekends, guys getaways, fishing and golf trips. Rent both sides for larger groups and open the unique sliding wall to have a large dining area.

This cottage is one of the original cottages built on the Outer Banks in the 1950's, but don't let that scare you away! The cottage has charm, is comfortable, and has been updated to have central heating and air conditioning as well as the basic amenities you would hope for, (dishwasher, TV, internet). Sea Breezes doesn't compete with the new construction, luxury beach homes in the area... but then they can't really compete with our place either.
