Literally everything you will need! This unit was clean and delightfully quiet. The grounds are lovely and neighbors are conscious of light pollution, so you'll have a wonderful view of the stars at night. The air conditioning works great--you'll only need a few minutes to cool down bedrooms at night. You'll find shopping and food within walking distance and many beaches just minutes away. Best of all, every single thing you could need is already here. The host has gone far beyond the usual stocked kitchen and plentiful towels. You'll be provided with games, toys, and books for your time in the condo. Plus there are beach chairs and towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, coolers, outdoor games...even water shoes! The property has great information about the area, including notes on the Hawaiian language, restaurant suggestions, and an introduction to the community cat, who will be happy to visit with you if you so desire. The host was in touch during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and checking in and out could not have been easier. This is a 5-star stay in every way!

Absolutely Perfect Location

This welcoming home was exactly what our family needed after a busy week in Honolulu. Tucked into what felt like a tropical forest, it was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals plus a grocery store and farmers market just minutes away.Some things worth mentioning: My family enjoyed the local kitties and chickens that would visit us every morning. The roosters do crow at odd times, but turn on a fan at night and you won't even hear them. The house is also stocked with toys and games. I saw a pack and play in the closet as well. Ema has boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels for you. There is a lot of storage to unpack your things and spread out. There are 3 separate air conditioning units that help cool down the house and lots of fans, but we found if you just open all the windows, it was just as nice.Ema was so sweet to leave a small basket of local goodies on the beautiful wooden table where we shared so many special family meals. She shared lots of advice on where to visit and what we could do. This house was in the perfect location — peaceful and tucked away, yet super close to everything. The beach was a walk away, and even more beaches just minutes down the road. Kauai is truly the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen with my own eyes, and we feel so lucky to have experienced it.

Heavenly Hanalei

Lovely, well equipped home. Clean, comfortable and great location. We appreciated how well stocked it was from tissues in each room, nice bathroom supplies and many kitchen tools. The one issue that we had was immediately resolved by Chris, the manager. We really enjoyed our stay and all fell in love with Bonkers, the cat. Oh, and we were the first to christen the new outdoor shower which is a great addition.

Nice two-story condo in great location

This was a nice house for a stay in Princeville – great location near to Princeville and Hanalei. The house was clean, comfortable and well situated. There are boogie boards and beach towels and beach toys – great to have these supplied.Communications withe owner and property manager were good.

Location!

I loved the quiet street and feeling like we were away from the tourist areas. Close proximity to the beach and Hanalei Bay. It’s about a 20min walk to the beach via the private path and a 5 min drive to Hanalei. It’s also a 4 min drive or 15 min walk to the Makai golf course. Highly recommend the 7th hole sunrise yoga! Bonkers the cat was a welcome guest each morning and night-we miss him! Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Great Location on the North Side

If you are looking for a well situation condo in the Princeville / Hanalei area, this will work well. It even comes with a rental kitty! The unit is very functional with all needed amenities EXCEPT coffee and spices. I recommend if you are going to cook in, plan to bring your own spices and bagged coffee (not pods). I would say you do NOT need to waste baggage space on beach towels, snorkel gear, body boards, cooler etc. It's all there and ready for you. You will need to make ice via ice tray as needed or run up to the corner store. We would stay here again if our visit was focused on the North side. On this trip, most of our activities were in the South. We should have booked around Poi Pu and saved multiple hours driving and being stuck in traffic that is 5x what it was 10 years ago. The secret of Kauai is out! That is no slight on this property though.

Easy, Comfortable, Location

We had a great stay here, the place was very clean, location was great - a quick drive into Hanalei, and the host was so thoughtful of a visitor's needs in the condo. Just enough amenities to be helpful vs overwhelming, and plenty of space to spread out. I did enjoy the community cat, Bonkers, and the place is very peaceful, quiet.

Kaua’i stay

We had a great stay. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were just there to sleep and have breakfast, otherwise were on the go. It was convenient for the Princeville and Hanalei area. The only issue was that the washer was not usable and we weren’t informed until after check in. We had other family staying close by so we were able to do laundry there, The host did offer to make arrangements for laundry if we needed it, but don’t know how that would have worked.

Customer service at its peak

When we first arrived after a treacherous day of travel due to weather, the unit wasn’t ready for us and typically this would have just been a rocky start to our trip but that was not the case. The way that the home owner but most importantly, the cleaning company owner made things right with us made the trip better than we could have ever imagined. He gave us the best tips on where to go, where to eat, etc. He checked in throughout the trip to make sure we were covered. Made sure the home had all the basics needed, towels, beach chairs, coolers even. The home is adorable, it’s about a mile from the cutest beach and less than a mile in the opposite direction to the cutest restaurants and the local foodland. Overall we had an awesome stay & in grateful we had Chris & that we picked this home to stay in.

Our Story

We are a family of four who first discovered Kauai nearly 30 years ago. What began as a simple vacation quickly became something deeper—the island’s beauty, spirit, and friendships we built here touched us in ways we could never have imagined. Over time, Kauai called us back again and again, until we finally decided to set down roots.

Our hearts are forever split between Kauai and California. Life has taken us through challenges—our family home was lost in the Woolsey Fire while we were here on island—but those moments gave us perspective and reminded us what truly matters: family, community, and the simple joys of life.

Our little cottage is the realization of a dream shared by all four of us—surfers, seekers, and philosophers at heart. It’s a place where the rhythm of the ocean and the calm of the mountains come together, offering both inspiration and rest.

We’ve chosen to share our home with those who carry that same zest for life—people who know the value of slowing down, embracing beauty, and creating memories with loved ones.

Aloha & welcome to our family’s dream retreat! We first came to Kauai over 20 years ago, and the island’s magic kept calling us back until we finally set roots here. Though we live part-time in Malibu, our hearts are split between “The Bu” and this special corner of the North Shore.
