Ariana is an exceptionally considerate host. I think that is why she gets 10/10 all the time. Her apartment is 100 years old but has been well kept. It is a classic early 1900s style reminiscent of much of Europe. Tall ceilings, big french doors etc. The second exceptional thing is that it is in a marvelous location of older porto, more quiet yet accessible to the river promenade, many wonderful restaurants etc. It is fortunately relatively distant from he downtown tourist crowd. There is a beautiful park next door, excellent for walking. The top 3 necessities ie. Bed, airconditioning and shower were 10/10. The shower is a tight fit for a larger person. Ariana was very responsive to any small issues. Definitely a good value. Perhaps the best thing was her referral for us to a car/driver service that allowed us to travel privately at reasonable cost around northern Portugal. He was amazing.

It is a very clean and comfortable apartment in an area that is convenient to walk to the beach or catch a bus or tram into the city.Ariana is a very helpful host and we had everything we needed for a self catered stay. We also ate at Pragar the restaurant at the bottom of the road and the food was very good. We had a very enjoyable stay in Porto and will come again!

Beautiful apartment!

We had a great time visiting the area. The apartment is close to the water, supermarkets, and lots of nice restaurants. Ariana was a gracious host-provided everything we needed, including some nice snacks. The apartment is small but has large windows and lots of mirrors, and a great use of the space making it seem much larger. We were a group of four women and there was plenty of space for all of us! It is also decorated and furnished beautifully! We are so glad we chose to get out to a beautiful, quiet area of Porto.

fantastic in every way!

We had a wonderful stay at this historic and beautiful apartment! Arianna was an incredible host who was so helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. She also helped with many great suggestions for Porto first timers. The neighborhood was perfect for what we were looking for and gave us a good feel for what it feels like to be a local! We did walk into Porto and it was a fun journey. I hope to be back to explore more--thank you for a delightful stay!

Casa Bela

Ariana did a very nice job of decorating. The master bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. Casa Bela is located in a quieter area of Porto, but just a few minutes on the bus or taxi to the old town. We found several good restaurants within just a few minutes walk.

Porto is Awesome and so is Ariana

Literally will not stay anywhere else when we are in Porto, we just hated to leave. Ariana, our hostess, is just awesome and made us feel like family. Perfect location, perfect place, perfect stay. Only thing that was wrong is we had to leave . . . already planning our next trip back, but ONLY if we can stay in the same place again. Loved it! Cynthia and Allison

Our Second Stay

We love this property. The host, Ariana, is delightful and responsive. This is our second time staying here. We like the neighborhood (not so many tourists), the easy access to public transport, closeness to the beach and river, an artisanal bakery and organic food store nearby. Very charming and tasteful decor. What more can we say?

Casa Bela, Foz Porto

This property was perfect for two couples, king size beds and lots of space. Amazing ceiling height, interesting architecture, and perfectly furnished for the space. While outside the downtown core (good for restful sleeps), a scenic tram, within easywalking distance, takes one right there. A small grocer is one block away, and the restaurant 5 doors down is well worth trying. Our host Ariana was very informative. All in all, an excellent experience!

A jewel in the crown

This is an old authentic building so you can expect some creaky floors but these are part of the charm. Architectural features are highlighted. Ariana was a great host, very responsive. Super location with a small grocery and bakery around the corner and a wonderful wine store.

Best VBRO experience I’ve ever had!

We had a excellent stay at Casa Bela. It was indeed beautiful with lots of historic charm and thoughtful details inside the apartment. It was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location was excellent: beautiful neighborhood, near shops, park, river, pier and ocean. Ariana was a gracious and amazingly helpful host. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Perfect Property

Of all the properties that we have stayed in throughout Europe, this one is at the top of the list. We used this apartment as our base of operations for a month. The apartment is a tasteful mix of antiques and modern simplicity, with a historic ambiance. We appreciated the high quality linens, modern appliances, and well equipped kitchen and tableware. The location is great, with nice food markets, an incredible artisanal bakery, boutiques, a park and the beach just minutes away. Mass transit is also easily accessible and we found the Porto mass transit system to be very safe and clean, much better than in the U.S. Ride sharing was also easily accessed. The neighborhood in general is upscale, and occupied by Portuguese residents, not a touristy enclave. Our landlady, Ariana, was charming and responsive. We hope to return next year. Our stay exceeded all expectations.

Wonderful stay!

My husband & I had a wonderful stay at Ariana’s property! There were a couple items to figure out, but Ariana was very kind, thorough, and attentive. The location is very charming and we absolutely loved the master bedroom. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Authentic Porto

This apartment was very cute with lots of old world charm. We loved it and it was great for our family of 4. The neighborhood had lots of restaurants away from the busy tourist district. Ariana was an excellent host and tended to all of our needs. Would definitely rent again.

Lovely Apartment

The apartment is in the old part of the city, surrounded by restaurants and cafés that are reachable by feet. The apartment is very beautiful and the hosts are so friendly and helpful. I would recommend that to everybody who is looking for an authentic place to recover.

Lovely apartment and fantastic host

We had a wonderful stay in Porto. Ariana is the perfect host and her apartment is so pretty and comfortable. It is much larger than we expected . We loved the neighborhood and it was super easy and fun to get to the center of town on electric scooters There is a little supermarket a few steps away that provides all we needed. The beautiful park next to the apartment is very peaceful and you can walk to see the sunset in the evening Do not hesitate to stay in Ariana’s place it will be one of the highlights of your trip to Porto.

Family getaway

This is a beautiful well-maintained property, with some old-house quirks that are easily tolerated. Ariana is a wonderful responsive host. The location is in an upscale, seaside neighborhood away from the city center. This was a negative for us but might be a welcomed by others.

Very Charming, great neighborhood, excellent host

I have admit We we’re a bit skeptical when we first saw the property..Older neighborhood and building but soon you realize that Arianna has done a really great job of keeping the character of the place yet updating the things that are essential for a great experience..Modern bathroom with lots of hot water, good kitchen with everything you need and a charming bedroom with a great bed.. The neighborhood was excellent with everything you need close by..Park by the water 500 feet away and lots of transportation options..Excellent restaurants with a small market right around the corner and a bigger supermarket 5 minutes away..All in all a really good experience with a very accommodating host..Just on thing…She’s got to get with the streaming. Vibe for the TV…not many choices for some night time viewing..yes a very small complaint..

Great property and location!

We loved our stay and Ariana was wonderful as a hostess, she made our stay super easy. The location is also really great, walking distance to beach, shopping, grocery, and wonderful restaurants (recommend Casa Aberta on the street up from the house). The only drawback was that the master bedroom sits on an unexpectedly busy road, I think locals use it as a cut through from the city to Foz? So, traffic comes through at many hours of the day and windows don't keep out much noise from the street. I would also recommend addition of a small french press to the kitchen, just provides an alternative to use of pods. Thanks for the great vacation in Porto!

Slice of paradise

Adriana is an amazing host! She welcomed us with a warm smile, fresh fruit & cheese, and valuable recommendations. The home was perfect for two adults working remotely for the week - plenty of space for calls & located ideally to explore food, beach & sunshine. We fell in love with Porto (and Foz) and cannot wait to come back.

Best location in Porto (Foz)

We had the pleasure of staying in a lovely converted old home in the fishing village of FOZ an oceanside neighborhood of Porto. The 12 foot ceilings and stone walls and shuttered windows made the place magical and the owner, Ariana, had a brilliant knack for combining old world charm with the modern. Complete with a full kitchen, 1.5 baths, 2 bedrooms, living room and sunny dining area--it was the perfect spot and we felt at home immediately. It's proximity to the park and the water front was also a plus as they were only minutes away. Everything was within walking distance--grocery store, hair dresser, restaurants and the like. We had the good fortune (or misfortune) of arriving just before the Covid-19 outbreak. We would have preferred to ride out this event in Portugal but a State of Emergency was imposed. There was no panic, everyone was rational and sane in their response to this unprecedented event and our lovely host made certain we were safe. The Bird Restaurant stayed open to provide take out meals--which was our saving grace--and they also delivered meals to those in need. We experienced humanity at it's best and look forward to a return visit.

The beach and the river are within spitting distance (2 min. walking) and the historical city centre (just 15-20 min. away). Enjoy one of the great restaurants in the neighbourhood. Wander in the intricate cobblestone streets with small town flavour. Jog or bike along the scenic waterfront. Have a swim or head for a surfing adventure in the beach. Take a romantic stroll in the 19th century Passeio Alegre park. Visit an exhibition at the Museum of Serralves and explore its wonderful gardens...
- COMFORT & COSYNESS: only by securing my guests' comfort I can make sure that their stay as much agreeable as possible. The interior décor were designed to create a warm and cosy atmosphere and there was also a clear focus in logistical terms in order to achieve this comfort and cosyness, despite the apartment being located in a century-old building (wide and comfy beds, 4 pillows per bed, hair dryer and free toiletries, etc).
- AESTHETICAL: this dwelling is a homage to design as the interiors display unique an elegance and sophisticated décor.
- THE BACKYARD: this lovely and quiet place is perfect to relax and sunbathe and it is exclusive for my guests' use only;
