What a beautiful property! Everything from the view to how it was set up was for us, 4 couples, that have been long- time friends. It was large enough for our group or if you wanted alone time. Each couple had thier own room with double bed. We loved the screen porch! We have stayed at other rentals before and this is definately the best well stocked, especially in the kitchen.While we did not particapate in water activies, the water was clear with a sandy bottom. So relaxing sitting at the end of the dock. I would definately recommend Lefty's Lodge to anyone.

This is our fifth time staying at Lefty's Lodge in as many years. We have six adults and two young children in the group. The home is perfect and spotless! The living space on the main floor and deck provide wonderful opportunities to cook/eat and socialize as a family. The sleeping and bathrooms on three floors mean that each family unit can have their own bedroom and bathroom when some privacy is needed. The lake is fantastic! Great fishing, an amazing sandbar to take a beautiful swim, a new dock and plenty of wildlife. The lake and home provide every opportunity for recreation and still afford a quiet environment for relaxation. The hosts are wonderful to deal with, pay attention to every detail and provide an amazing home to enjoy the perfect up-north family vacation. Highly recommend!

Summer Lake family fun

My family and I were fortunate enough to be able to stay one week at this beautiful 'up north' retreat! The hone is stunning - from the exterior to the interior - warmth and comforting furnishings and enough space for all of us! The pontoon was especially fun for all. We would love to come back and make it part of our family vacation routine. Thank you Misha!

We loved our stay at Lefty’s Lodge! The kitchen was open to the living room which was great, and we loved sitting and reading on the patio during the few rainstorms or cold mornings. We loved the dock area for swimming and going out on the boat which we rented too. We did get swimmer’s itch but not too bad because we wore sunscreen each time we went in, and the sandy bottom was beautiful for hot days! The main reasons for the lower rating is: the air conditioning is only a wall unit next to the kitchen. This limits how much AC is available for sleeping. The downstairs bedrooms stay cool when the doors are open, but on hot nights we would recommend adding or bringing fans. The upstairs was uncomfortable for sleeping when temps were in the 80’s, and the loft (with many of the beds) was miserable for those of us who slept up there because the loft is above the large open kitchen and dining space. The bunk room is very small, so wouldn’t recommend for teens. The listing has lots of good documentation on the bedroom spaces, but the AC was a factor that impacted our sleeping arrangements. To help make sure you have the sleeping space you need, double check the details and consider potential for high temps in the loft area from both weather and cooking. The only other quirks were some of the appliances - the stove made a ticking noise constantly while cooking (trying to ignite burners that were already on), the grill wasn’t great to cook on, and the fridge had a broken piece inside.

The cabin was very comfortable for our multi generation family. The swimming was great and we had good luck fishing. This was our 3rd year at Lefty’s. We highly recommend it!

Perfect Up North Getaway

Perfect family vacation home

We love Lefty's! Our family has stayed here six times over the past six years. We started with just adults but have added a few grandchildren along the way. The house is immaculate, the lake incredible, the views spectacular and the host welcoming. The three levels of living space allow for plenty of space for families with kids and/or couples to have privacy and areas for the larger group to gather. The deck and screen porch are amazing spaces to socialize, play, view the lake, cook out and eat a quiet meal. We never had any problems with mosquitos either! On a very hot week like we just had, the air conditioning was a welcome luxury. Our family comes back year after year because this is the perfect place with wonderful hosts. Oh yeah, and the lake can't be beat for water sports, fishing, swimming or......whatever you like to do ini the water!

Northwoods Gem

Lodge was full of everything we needed. Lots of space for everyone to spread out and have their own floor. Love that each room had its own full bath. Something for everyone to do whether you enjoy sitting on the deck, napping in the comfy chair or going out on the water. The stairs aren’t for everyone but they are sturdy and new. Dock may need an upgrade soon. Cant beat the beautiful view of the lake!! Overall a great place to stay!!

Everything we could ask for!

We have been traveling to the Stone Lake/ Hayward area for over 15 years. I can honestly say that staying at Lefty’s Lodge has been our finest experience. From the excellent communication (from our first inquiry throughout our entire stay), to the beautifully maintained cabin and property, we were exceptionally happy with the entire experience. The lake and view are outstanding. The neighborhood is very peaceful, friendly and offers a terrific atmosphere for taking long walks. The kitchen is very well appointed with high end appliances and everything we needed to create delicious meals. The pontoon boat (rented separately) is top notch and we appreciated the safety measures taken to ensure a stress free week on the lake. The cabin feels very cozy and, at the same time, spacious which allowed us all to engage together and to have privacy. The proximity of the cabin to restaurants, shopping and the great outdoors was perfect. We definitely plan on returning to Lefty’s Lodge in the future and can highly recommend this cabin to those seeking solace, nature, and a great time with friends and family!

Lovely cabin, wonderful stay

Beautiful home, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Peaceful and quiet setting. The counter set up made meal time buffet set up easy. Enough seating that all 11 of us could eat together inside or out. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. The screened in porch was a great place for folks to hang out when it was raining. Lots of pool was played. Many games to choose from. Beach had a nice sandy bottom. My mom’s knee isn’t good right now, so the only drawback for our group was the 40 stairs down to the dock. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

Beautiful Stay!

When you walk in the door to the home you’re welcomed by a beautiful view of the lake and feel the warmth of the home. From the decorations to the furniture; the love and care for this home is evident. We had 3 different families celebrating the 4th of July, 50th anniversary and a birthday. The home accommodated everyone so well. The beds were comfortable, the house had everything needed for the stay, plenty of bathrooms, big beautiful kitchen, rec room, and many comfortable and relaxing places to sit and talk, read or take in the beauty of the surroundings. The lake itself was also great. Very clear water, good fishing and a big lake to explore. The owner was amazing to work with and very accommodating to anything we needed. He was always available to answer questions or get us what we needed. This is a highly recommended stay! We hope to be back!

Great vacation home!

Lefty's Lodge was perfect in almost every way. The location is great - secluded, but close to town. The kitchen has everything you could need, and has enough room for 4-5 people to be working in it at the same time. Nice big counter for laying out buffet meals. The living room has very comfortable furniture, and probably the best view we have had at any vacation home. All of the bedrooms had very comfortable beds and dressers/closets to unpack our belongings. The pool table was a nice feature on a rainy day. The dining area had a nice, big table for playing card games at night. We sat in the screened-in porch every morning and every evening. Very nice! Everything was exceptionally clean. The decor is very tasteful and interesting. We rented the pontoon for the week and were very pleased with it. We have rented boats for the last 15 years and this was the nicest one we ever had - very clean, no cracked/broken seats, ran well, etc. Misha was very easy to work with and always answered our questions in a very timely manner. Overall, this was a great experience at a very lovely house! The one thing that may be a downfall to the property for some people is the 40 steps down to the lake. For us (ages 10 to 71) it was not really a problem. There are several landings along the stairway if you need a rest! The stairs are well-built, with a sturdy handrail all the way down. Overall, definitely one of the best vacation homes we have had in the past 15 years!

Another great week at Lefty's Lodge

This was our 2nd cabin week stay at Lefty's Lodge. Twelve of us: three generations ranging in age from 2-64. The house is very comfortable for everyone. Plenty of space indoors to play games, work on puzzles, and watch late night movies. We love the lake! The best swimming right off the dock and not too deep quite a ways out from shore. We also rented their pontoon, which was great for cruising the lake. We've already booked for next year!

Fantastic stay

Lefty's Lodge was absolutely perfect for our stay while visiting the area for the 50th Birkie. The house is huge, but it's the kitchen and living room that were just what we needed. Hope to be back someday. Our thanks to Misha for her hospitality.

Perfect Getaway

Lefty’s Lodge is a beautiful, comfy lake home. Kitchen has all the necessities, beds have good, supportive mattresses. The view of the lake from the house is lovely, gorgeous sunrises. We all said we would stay at this rental property again/anytime. Owners are friendly, helpful and very accommodating.

Lovely peaceful stay

My family and I spent a lovely week at Lefty's Lodge! We have 2 teenagers and this vacation had zero complaints! We spent the week boating, swimming, fishing, mountain biking and playing games. The property was perfect! Lots of space and very clean and tidy. We cooked a few meals and happily discovered the kitchen to be perfectly equipped with everything we needed. We were just a quick drive from Hayward where we enjoyed some amazing meals too. (The Hayward Family diner was a big hit with my 16 year old!) This property would be perfect for big families, smaller families, big kids, little kids or just adults. If you are looking to spending a few days sipping coffee on the patio while enjoying a good book and staring out at a beautiful lake, then Lefty's is where you want to stay. Or if you are more of an adventurous spirit who loves swimming, boating, mountain biking and fishing, it's also perfect for you! Thanks Misha and Elka for a wonderful vacation.

Beautiful home on an amazing lake.

This was our fourth stay at Lefty's and we just love it. The house is immaculate, the lake is perfect and the location has something for all ages. Misha is a wonderful host before, during and after the stay.

Most wonderful lake vacation ever!

Lefty’s Lodge was absolutely the most gorgeous lake home we have ever stayed in. The view of the lake when you enter the home is stunning, and it just gets better from there. Spacious, comfortable rooms and furnishings. Soo many games and activities. The fire pit - perfect for s’mores with the kids and conversation with the adults. Loved the screened porch for coffee in the morning—so cozy! Although we didn’t have a problem with mosquito, the porch would be great for that if needed. Communication with the host was timely and thorough—as were instructions for the use of the home. One of the highlights for us was the use of the beautiful 22’ pontoon. It was so convenient to have it right there with a lift next to the dock. It is in perfect condition - great for swimming at the sand bar, fishing, and cruising to the restaurants on the lake (both Anglers Haven and Trails End have play equipment for kids and patio dining—so fun!). We highly recommend renting it - it really made the vacation extra special! Although there are many steps down to the lake, there are places to rest on the way down if needed! We even had a wonderful time on cooler and rainy days - fires in the indoor fireplace, family tournaments with several of the many games to choose from (pool, croquet, etc.) Great location - only 10-15 minute drive to Hayward - if you like beer, be sure to try the Angry Minnow! It goes without saying that we highly recommend this home. Misha and Elka made us feel like family!

After 25 years of renting cabins on various lakes "up North," we fell in love with the Hayward area and decided it was time to own our own place on a beautiful lakeshore. We purchased this home for our family's use throughout the year, but want to share the joy of being at "the lake" with others, just as other cabin owners have done so with us.

We love Lac Courte Oreilles -- it is a clean lake, not too small, not too large. Our property is located on the western end of the lake, easy to get to, and it has an eastern exposure, which means you won't have the afternoon sun bearing down into your living room.

Our home has a big kitchen and a large counter space where kids and/or adults can sit and enjoy the lake view (and so can the cook!) through the two-story great room windows. Nothing obstructs the fabulous view, and we are perched just enough above the lake to give you a magnificent panorama. And with plenty of space both inside and out, you'll have privacy, even with lots of people in the house.

We've loved being Vrbo hosts since 2018.
