What’s nearby:

Grab a bike or hop in the car and head up the beach towards the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, just two and a half miles away. For a small donation, you can walk or bike through the preserve to enjoy views of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Local shops, dining and the Folly Beach Pier are less than two miles from this home. For a day trip, enjoy downtown historic Charleston just 13 miles away.

This was one of the best family trips we have ever taken - and we lived in Europe! You cannot beat the views that this home provides. From the sunrises, to the dolphins playing right in front of us (felt like they were playing with our kids!), to the incredible sunsets, this place was amazing! This charming beach house was perfect for us and our four kids (5 and under) and the area is so much fun. The beach was quiet and felt very private. Host/management was informative and prompt when we had questions prior to our trip. We will definitely be back!!

Property was fantastic

House was as beautiful as advertised excellent home quiet and clean perfect for sleeping. I like nighttime to be quiet and dark and this location was perfect.

Incredible location!

Loved this location, oh my goodness! Yes, it is very rustic, like a cabin but it has a lot of charm. Very comfortable, great screened in porch and location to town.

Great location

Loved the beach front. The plywood should be changed as the ceiling due to the bedding felt like it had moisture. Great experience overall! Will book again.

The perfect beach house

This property was the true definition of a beach house in my families opinion. Loved the set up and they even had a little pool for our 1 1/2 year old Grandson on the deck to enjoy after the beach. Would have been nice if there were a few beach chairs, as most places provide some. We also were under the impression going by the pictures there was only 1 bathroom, what a nice surprise to find 2 full baths. We will defiantly be renting Sho-Rest again.

It was exactly as described. Old Folly cottage directly on the ocean. Beautiful view from our private deck. Incredibly relaxing. We line just 1 1/2 hours away and plan on coming back!

If you want fancy-schmancy, you might want to go somewhere else, but we loved the shabby-chic-beach house. It's a bit small for more than 4, but there are plenty of rocking chairs and outside chairs to enjoy the screened or unscreened deck. So cool to watch the pelicans glide over the water and to see the occasional dolphin backs rising and falling. Would love to stay there again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location but the house needed serious updating to the structure & was as clean as you can get something that old. Old linoleum on the bedrooms floors....always had to wear shoes.

Just Right

My family and I spent 4 days at Sho-Rest during spring break. It was just perfect. Each bedroom had its own full bathroom. The living room is very cozy. The kitchen had everything one could need. Plus all the little extras were there, like salt, dishwashing soap, sponge etc. There was a wonderful tide pool out front every morning and evening teeming with starfish. The adults sat on the deck and watched the kids play. Charleston is so close, just a 15 minute ride away. This house was same price as the Embassy suites downtown. I am so glad we stayed here instead.

Getting thru to Vacasa was 1.5

If the lights were on at night in the house, large flying ants would come through the air conditioning units and cover you up at night. They did come spray but there was no control but to keep the lights off.
