Enjoy a wonderful location within walking distance of Whaleshead Beach (0.2 miles) and close to fantastic attractions, including Whaleshead Viewpoint, Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, Arch Rock State Park, Chetco Brewing Company, Azalea Park, Chetco Point Park, Crissey Field State Recreation Site, Alfred A. Loeb State Park, and Redwood Nature Trailhead.



Spend memorable times in your private hot tub treating your muscles to a soothing bath after a long walk on the beach, or hosting delicious barbecues on the patio using the provided gas grill. Inside, this welcoming abode provides you with an inviting living area. Spread out comfortably on the sofa as you stream a favorite show, movie, or sports game on the smart TV. There are board games and free WiFi to keep you entertained as well. When mealtime comes, whip up a delicious treat or homemade meal in the full kitchen. While the location is very nice, the interior of this home left a lot to be desired. The furniture pictured wasn’t accurate and what was there was limited and not comfortable. The bed is old and uncomfortable, though reasonable for the price. The kitchen was not well stocked for cooking, and had the feeling that half of everything had been removed.

Not sure why people are giving it an 8/10 for the outside yes there are tree branches and moss etc what do you expect your staying in a cottage in an area surrounded by beautiful trees it was small but nice they allowed my dogs location location location to multiple beaches and state parks and to town can’t stress that enough we had a great time didn’t want to leave oh and the hot tub was a huge plus so nice i used it daily also really nice that there is a communal laundry area having dogs and having to frequently do wash

Management was very responsive to questions. Was a little smaller than we expected but worked fine for two. Was pet friendly which was a plus. Hot tub was great, clean and a comfortable temperature. Area was quiet and mostly secluded. Close to beaches and city.

The cabin was nice, but had a couple minor issues. The inside was clean; it was modest, but comfortable, and suitable for my very limited needs. Two of the kitchen eating area windows were missing their blinds. The deck and gutters were on the weather-beaten side and could really use some TLC. I did not use the hot tub or grill, and have no opinion on those features. When I arrived, I had no idea how to find my cabin. The layout of the park is a bit confusing if you've never been there before, and the signage is not very clear. I called the host (around 6:00 p.m. on a weekday), but they could not be reached, which was a stressful experience. I did finally did discover the small billboard map of the property posted in the upper parking lot thanks to a friendly resident. It would have been very helpful to know that the map was there before I arrived. Including a map and directions would be perfect if added to the check-in instructions.The cabin does have quite a bit of privacy, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a good value and I enjoyed my stay.

Whales head is owned by a different company than it used to be and therefore all communication is with a third party. We were unable to communicate with anyone there at whales head to assist us with anything. When we arrived the night before our wedding the cabin was filthy. There was hair in the bed, nasty splatters on the baseboards, blinds, etc. There were cobwebs everywhere, bugs in every crevice. Thick grease build up on the microwave, the rug wasn’t even vacuumed. It was truly unbelievable. Avari (the third party) had someone bring fresh sheets and said we would hear in the morning from someone who could come clean up while we went and set up our wedding. We never received a call. No one ever came to help. We came back to a dirty gross unkept cabin on our wedding night.

Upon arrival at the unit, there was no running water and the place was not clean. I took pictures and sent to the property management dried debris in the sink; hair in the the sheets; faucet in on position with no running water; toilet tank no water. After some back and forth for a few hours with management, come to find there was work being done and water had to be shut off. We also requested someone to come back and clean the place, which was not fulfilled, so we for at least some clean sheets for me to put on the bed. I do appreciate the clean sheets brought to us and an explanation of no water. I had read prior reviews of the uncleanliness but thought would give this a chance. The inside of the cupboards had crumbs inside and the glassware had a film on it. I ended up washing dishes, utensils and pots before using and kept aside on top of counter to use during our stay. I noticed a ductless unit for heating and cooling and took a peak at the filter. I have the same unit in my house and found the filters extremely clogged with dust that it appears many months gone by with no cleaning. I took pictures and sent to property management as well. Overall, it was the lack of cleanliness that was a sour note during our stay. There were also missing blinds in the living room and cobwebs in the corner of windows. Sorry to say, but unlikely to return.

The hot tub was freezing cold when we arrived, the lid got stuck so had to let it warm up a whole day, the screens on the windows didn't stay in they would just fall out so if you bring a dog or have children don't leave the windows open, the fridge and freezer were dirty with other food in them, the shower barely worked and there were no board games.
