Artist’s EcoRetreat in the heart of Ballard

Light-filled artist’s home in the heart of one of Seattle’s most desired neighborhoods. From the house, you can reach nearly everything you need within a 10–15 minute walk — including eateries, grocery stores, cafés, shops, concert venues, and the post office. Public transportation can take you downtown in about 20 minutes, and scooters and bikes are readily available throughout the neighborhood. If the beach beckons, there are three incredible parks nearby.

The space:
The house is a classic Ballard home with a few fun and unique touches, including a spacious bathroom with a Japanese soaking tub. There is also a cozy, tent-like attic space where the largest of the three bedrooms is located. Another addition of my house is the studio with incredible light from all directions and access to the backyard patio.

Bedrooms:
There are three bedrooms total. Two are on the first floor and have double beds. The larger bedroom is located on the second floor and has a queen bed.

Bathrooms:
The house has one bathroom which is located on the first floor.

Please note:
The main floor includes a spacious bathroom, a large kitchen, and comfortable sitting and dining areas.

The two first-floor bedrooms are on the smaller side, and the upstairs bedroom is accessed by steep stairs and does not have a bathroom on that level. There is also no TV in the house. Because of the stairs and layout, the space may not be ideal for some elderly guests.

The front yard offers a small seating area and a porch with a glider bench—perfect spots to relax and take in the flowers and trees I’ve planted around the house over the past 26 years. I hope you find this home as peaceful and inspiring as I do.

Guest access:
The entire main floor and the attic bedroom are yours. Front yard and side patio.

The backyard is reserved for my two housemates, Amanda and Spencer, and me. We have separate living spaces and entrances.
