Perfect Family Getaway

We enjoyed a great week at this home. Loved that the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the sliding glass door was amazing. We had everything we needed. I recommend staying here.

We loved the area and nearby beaches. The dive company located at Mauna Lani beach club was top notch. We had a great time. House perfect for large groups.

Amazing Location and Stay

My family of 7 had a wonderful experience for our Big Island vacation. The town house was is an ideal location with easy access to a variety of beaches, shops, grocery stores, and more. The checkin process was clear and easy to understand. Each room has an exit to the outdoors, which we all loved. The Lanai area is wonderful. My family had a Hawaiian vacation we will never forget. beaches.

Serenty Villa

Great location and property for a large group. Plenty of beach towels and chairs. Location was within 15 mins of some great beaches that were not very crowded. Checkout list was clearly listed and manageable.

Amazing Accommodation for Family of 9

The property was perfect for us! Plenty of room and amenities. The garage was filled with everything we needed - chairs, coolers, umbrellas, snorkel gear, boogie boards and bikes.

Spring Break 2024

Our family of 6 adults and 4 teenagers thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house! We loved that there were 3 king sized beds for the adults. Nice that all 3 downstairs bedrooms had access through sliders to the yard. The kitchen was very well equipped. Perfect location for us. We'd love to stay in this house again.

Enjoyable place

We had 2 houses. This one was for the ‘kids’ - cousins all over 25. The location was great. We rented 2 golf carts for each home so the 12 of us had a lot of flexibility to get to the beach and the Mauna Lani hotel and neighborhood. The kitchen was well appointed, we cooked in one evening.

Review of property

A number of items needed attention from the property staff during our stay. I would say the property itself was a great location but attention needs to be given to upgrading the kitchen applicances, bathrooms etc. We were a group of ten who were there for 10 days and there was insufficient dish towels, toilet paper etc

Amazing in every way!

We stayed at Serenity Villa for a family reunion/40th birthday. There were 3 generations under one roof: 10 of us from 10 months to 73 years old. It was the PERFECT place in every way! Well-appointed in the kitchen, plenty of towels/sheets; tons of beach equipment, bikes, etc...we literally had everything we needed for a great time together. The pool was a 2 minute walk, the fitness room was always empty...and the beach at Mauna Lani was great for snorkeling. It is a fabulous, beautiful place to stay!

beautiful house with all the amenities!

The house was perfect for our two families (total of 7 people) to share. There was plenty of space and great amenities. We especially appreciated all the snorkel gear, beach chairs and boogie boards. The board games, guide books, and coolers were a nice added benefit too. Everything was in excellent condition. We especially liked the well stocked open kitchen. The pools and workout facilities were very nice and never crowded. The owners were extremely responsive to any and all questions that we had.

Incredible

Beautiful place… the photos are very accurate and we absolutely loved our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and the way the home is set up, you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and plenty of room for our two families. It was well appointed, clean and a wonderful location. I wish we had spent a little more time at the pool area in KaMilo. It was relaxing and very pretty and we didn’t get to it until the end of our trip. The Mauni Lani beach club was beautiful and there was great snorkeling. The Hilton was fine, but not really our scene, but I think with little kids, it would’ve been something we had gone to much more. Overall, a fantastic experience and we would definitely book again!!

Nice house for extended family.

Clean, fairly large duplex. Parking is extremely tight if more than one vehicle. Is very close to pools and exercise place. However, we were under the impression that the beach "club" was walkable (or bikes) from this place, but it isn't really. You could bike to the beach, but it would be much effort on busy, hot roads. Lots of natural ocean areas to drive to fairly close by. The nearby petroglyphs were also interesting.

We are thrilled that you found Serenity Villa a clean and comfortable home and that you enjoyed the close proximity to the pool complex. We do suggest that our guests drive to the beach club as it can be a bit of a walk especially if you want to take along any of the many beach items provided in the home for guest use. We agree that the petroglyphs are incredible as are the many lovely beaches that are just a short drive away. It would be great to have you back one day! Amazing Family Stay

This house is amazing as our the owners. Our family of 9, 8 adults and 1 child, love it all. The spacious living room, kitchen, and dining room were a perfect place for us to spend together. All the bedrooms were comfortable, lacking a bit in light but making up big in relaxation. The owners were attentive, getting us laundry detergent as they were running out, and leaving us only the best amenities. They were very responsive prior to our arrival, answering all our questions and inquiries with the upmost help. We would absolutely reccomend this and wuould stay here again if given the chance.

Having stayed in a number of different homes in Hawaii prior to purchasing ours, we invested in full black out blinds in all bedrooms so that our guests who who don't want to wake early to the bight Hawaii sun don't have! Family fun

I need to start my review with the owners, Jeff and Suzanne. From my first contact, they were responsive, easy to work with and straightforward. This is my family's tenth consecutive trip to this area on the Big Island, and this was by far my best rental experience. Now to the property. It was everything you could ask for and exactly as described on VRBO. We were comfortable and relaxed. There were directions for everything, so we were able to feel right at home. We have an 18 month old, so all the baby gear provided was a huge bonus. All I can say is thank you Jeff and Suzanne, you made for a fantastic vacation.

Review of Serenity

Property could have been cleaner when we arrived. Top shelf of dishwasher is broken, master toilet runs, lamp on bed stand in master doesn’t work, need more silverware, outdoor grill heating uneven, shampoo dispenser upstairs was either empty or broken. THOSE WERE JUST HELPFUL HINTS TO GET REPAIRED. OTHERWISE , we loved it. Great location, Floorplan, privacy, we loved all the beach towels and toys etc in Garage. We would come back. Thanks

Beautiful Property with Very Responsive Owner

I enthusiastically recommend this place to any family visiting Kona, so much so that I am writing my first review. The house is exactly as represented in the pictures. It was beautiful, open, and well furnished. Serenity Villa not only came with all the basic necessities which go with a rental of this type, but many additions including boogie boards, ice chest, and beach chairs and mats giving us the flexibility to pick up and go anywhere. My family travels a lot and has rented houses all over Europe and Asia. By far, this was by far the best rental experience, not just because of the house, but because of the owner, who was considerate and extremely responsive. We actually met Jeff in Hawaii since he was the next person to stay at the Villa and, as expected, he was very friendly and personable. Great property, fantastic location, and responsive owner! Awesome.....Perfect in every way!

This property exceeded our expectations in many ways. We have been vacationing in Hawaii for at least 25 years and this was by far the best accommodation we have stayed at. The home itself is lovely, very comfortable and is expertly equipped with everything one needs. A short walk takes you to an amazing pool / recreation area. A short drive and you have several breathtaking beaches to enjoy. We were a family of 6 cousins, 55+ and had a great time. We ate breakfast and lunch at home and splurged for dinner at a variety of restaurants in the area. We enjoyed exploring the island... Hilo, Waimea, coffee farms in South Kona and beautiful botanical gardens. We did not make it to the Volcano so we are hoping for a return visit and it cannot come soon enough... we are missing Serenity already! We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Jeff and Suzanne. They were very nice and helpful and certainly know how to make one feel at home. We would highly recommend not only this beautiful home but also, the Island of Hawaii... so much to offer!

A superb property every bit as good as its advance billing and good economics for a large family

We have just completed two wonderful weeks at Serenity Villa at Ka Milo. As a family of six with three generations, we knew that a well equipped vacation rental was preferable to staying in two to three hotel rooms at the Fairmont Orchid for our annual trip to the island of Hawaii. Jeff and Suzanne's Serenity Villa at Ka Milo is well located on the Mauna Lani Resort property, convenient to the Fairmont restaurants and the grocery store and restaurants at the Shops at Mauna Lani, and a short drive from the Francis I'i Brown north and south golf courses and the residents' private beach at the Mauna Lani Beach Club. Our extended family found that renting a four seater electric golf cart to zip to the four corners of the resort, especially the Beach Club, added to the 'vacation' feel and nicely supplemented the mandatory minivan rental. The Villa itself is a brand new, well furnished (completed Spring 2014) four bedroom, two story semi-detached house set in a lush, well landscaped community on the Mauna Lani resort property. The upper (main) floor has a very large master and open concept living, dining and high end kitchen (granite counter tops, high end appliances, fully equipped pot, pan and dish sets, kitchen utensils, spices and basics) and a large lanai with outdoor kitchen, stainless steel gas range and dining space. The lower floor has three bedrooms including a beautiful master with large en-suite and lanai, and two bedrooms with one and two beds and lanais. The two car garage is thoughtfully well equipped with a cooler on wheels, a full range of beach toys, furniture, flutter boards, snorkelling sets for different ages, life jackets, bicycles and helmets. The Villa and the Ka Milo property have their own set of rules but all are reasonable and protect your and other homeowners' and guests' privacy and enjoyment. Other than a number of beach meals at Napua at the Mauna Lani Beach Club and the mandatory sushi extravaganza at Monstera Noodle and Sushi, we ate most of our meals in, first stocking up at Costco (for value) near the airport then from the Foodland at the nearby Shops (for convenience), then specialty items opportunistically such as fresh fish for grilling from Kawaihae, local fruit and veg at a number of farmers' markets, and local island grass-fed beef from the Parker Ranch in Waimea. In summary, Serenity Villa is a superb property every bit as good as its advance billing and good economics for a large family.
