Wonderful place to stay!

The apartment was perfect for our needs during our stay! The absolute only complaint would be the toilet leaving no leg room, but that’s out of his control and totally manageable. We’d definitely stay again!

Great property, great location

Really enjoyed staying here. The owner was thorough in communicating and lives onsite. He was very helpful in giving some entertainment advice and easy to work with. The location is in The Hill district- close to everything in STL, with great restaurants and groceries nearby. Clean, well decorated apartment. Will definitely stay here again.

Weekend in St. Louis

My husband and I stayed in one of the lovely 2nd floor apartment for a weekend. The apartment was centrally located to the tourist attractions in St. Louis. The apartment was clean & up to date ( just like the pictures) Parking is on the street but we had no problems ever finding a park. The owner was very nice, we had a scheduling change and asked for a later checkout, he honored our request. The next time we visit St. Louis we will definitely stay at this lovely apartment.

Great stay

Apt was clean. Well equipped. Comfortable for our family of four. The building does have a smell, but once inside the apt you don't notice it. Small bathroom. Comfortable king sized bed. Back patio looked nice, although we did not use it. Convenient curb parking. We had everything we needed, and even extended our stay an extra day. Mike was very responsive. I text him when I couldn't find linens for the twin beds, and he answered within minutes.

This was our 2nd visit with Mike at his lovely Historic Southwest Gardens apartment. We look forward to staying again in the spring. The location is fantastic and safe for a city property. It is close to the city and all that St. Louis has to offer. It was clean, updated and looks just like the pictures. The little deck and backyard is perfect for having a glass of wine with chit-chat. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We also used the trundle bed, also very comfortable. The bathroom is tight, yet brand new. The kitchen is updated and had all the appliances we needed. We stayed on the 2nd floor, steep stairs. If you have difficulty with stairs, stay on the lower level. Once again, I strongly recommend this property while visiting St. Louis!

Convenient and clean at a good price

This apartment was in a perfect location on a quiet, tree-lined street, a quick and easy drive from St. Louis. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars, really. We were lucky enough to stay over a Wednesday night in the summer, and enjoyed the nearby concert at the Missouri Public Garden, as well as the garden itself (including Chihuly walla walla onions floating in the pond). We stayed in an upstairs apartment, and the floors were creaky, but we heard very little other noise from other tenants or the street: not sure if the people downstairs could hear us walking around, but they never said. All was just as advertised, and the place clean and ready for us when we arrived. Only cons: toilet is very close to the bathtub, so if you're tall, you might have to put a leg into the bathtub for enough space. Being tall will help you reach the microwave on top of the fridge, though. Also there's a VERY faint smell of smoke in the hallways, since smoking is allowed in the backyard, but I usually mind the smell of cigarette smoke and this didn't bother me at all. Altogether a very satisfactory stay, and a good deal for the price we paid. We visited the Arch, of course, and spent all day downtown going on a riverboat cruise, visiting City Garden (funky sculptures), and learning at the museum in the old courthouse (where the Arch museums are located temporarily during construction) before enjoying Thai for dinner at Sen Thai at 1221 Locust Street. Highly recommend that restaurant. Budweiser tour was fine - buildings and grounds are certainly beautiful. We're not beer-drinkers, and if you're not, it might not be worth your time. Mike, the owner, was very responsive and did not intrude on our time at all, just as he promised. We had only a few questions, and he answered them promptly. All in all, a great stay.

SW Garden in St. Louis

Overall it was a great stay in a great neighborhood. The apartment/condo is as advertised. It's an old south St. Louis building, so it's typical style of that neighborhood. The place is generally updated, with a good sturdy bed, plenty of closet space for a short trip, and it's location is stellar. It's not a huge place, so if you're looking for something big then look elsewhere. For my family of 3 it was perfect. If I had to be picky I'd say the bathroom and kitchen were a little small. If you're tall you may have an issue with the bathroom (I'm not that tall). Owner seems nice and it was mostly quiet in the building. We came during a very hot stretch and the A/C kept us nice and cool. The laundry came in helpful too. Overall I would recommend!

Enjoyable stay

The apartment is as stated and looks just like the pictures. Mike is fantastic and always available. There are steps, and if you are on the 2nd floor, it can be challenging. Great location; everything is less than 10 min away. Six flags is a 30 min easy drive. I will book this location again and will refer all my friends. Thanks Mike!

Very nice neighborhood, close to Botanical Garden (great place) and to Tower Grove park (so nice to walk)... the apartment has all you need... it is easy go (by app) to down town and other areas. I’m happy to have chose this place.

Excellent location and apartment

Our family really enjoyed our stay in this Southwest Garden apartment and found the property comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully appointed. The owner (Mike) was incredibly helpful and prompt. We are already talking about another trip to STL in the future and hope to stay here again!

Historic STL

If you enjoy historic properties with tons of charm - this is the place for you! The location is super convenient to downtown STL and all the fabulous places in The Hill. So much better than a sterile, modern, cold hotel room.

Fine apartment in great area of St Louis city

The apartment is as advertised. It is located very near the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Tower Grove Park, the Hill (known for its Italian restaurants) and short drives to St. Louis University, Barnes Hospital, SLU hospital, Soulard area, downtown St. Louis with the arch, the stadium; virtually in the middle of all the St. Louis city attractions. The pictures provided show all the details of the apartment. Our unit was on the top (second) floor and was quiet. The unit was very clean. The king size bed is fine - not very hard but not squishy soft either. We did not use the other bedding so we cannot comment. I've seen some comments complaining about the toilet being too close to the bath tub. As shown in the pictures there is minimal space between the toilet and bath tub. But considering that I'm 6'4" with size 13 shoes, I was able to easily use the toilet, we have no complaint. Regarding parking, you are in the heart of the city; you need to parallel park on the street. One night we found space nearly in front of the apartment. The other night the only space was half a block away on the other side of the street. If you find such parking arrangements a problem, you might want to consider a hotel . . . most every city apartment is likely to have similar parking arrangements. We had no reason to communicate with the owner other than the standard communications via email through vrbo. The owner provides an extensive list of rules (most all things any decent renter would do house rule or no house rule) as well as a list of attractions and places to eat. The list would be helpful I'm sure for guests who are not familiar with St. Louis. All in all, a fine stay in a clean well equipped apartment conveniently located in a good neighborhood of St. Louis City.

I always enjoy meeting my guests and hearing their stories but also I know my guests are not here to meet me, and that is why you will not hear from me during your stay unless there is an emergency or maintenance issue. Many of my guests come and go, and I never even meet them. Should something go wrong with your stay, contact me and give me a chance to make it right. I take the care, cleanliness and operation of my property very seriously. I aim to please each and every guest with the best quality rental homes I can offer and I am constantly looking for ways to improve them. My goal is to provide a home that is safer, cleaner and cheaper than any hotel/motel in the area.

I always want my guests to have fun but I also want them to remember that this is a residential neighborhood and I do have neighbors. I bought this building because it is in a quiet, safe, and historic Southwest Gardens neighborhood. The centrality of the location allows you to drive, walk or bike easily around the city. This is a very safe neighborhood, I lived in this building from 2009 to 2019 with no problems. In the warmer months you will regularly see people out late at night running and/or walking the dog.

You can walk to several restaurants, shops, parks, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, grocery stores and so much more. Some of the close by neighborhoods that you can walk to include: South Grand, The Hill, Tower Grove South, Shaw, Central West End & The Grove. Also, you have easy freeway access to 64/40, 70, 55 and 44.
