Shangri-La

We truly enjoyed our recent stay in Shangri-La in Carillon Beach. The home was right on the beach with easy access from the front porch on your own private walkway. The home has everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed. Plenty of room for family and friends and even has a carriage house in back for larger families. We would recommend the home and plan on visiting again.

Love Shangri-la!

This was our second time staying at Shangri-la. Our family of 11 loves staying here; the location is the best! It is a beautiful oceanfront home with plenty of sleeping quarters. The house was spotless when we arrived and the host was wonderful to communicate with. We rented a golf cart and never left the Carillon community with good places to eat and shop. Great family memories made here; definitely will return!

Can’t wait to book again

Everything was great! Perfect fit for our family, friends, and pets. Fenced in yard made it even more convenient with our pets. The location on the beach was amazing. Such a short walk to the water.

Amazing Beach Access

This house was great for our family vacation. Carillon is our go-to beach because the neighborhood is amazing! Direct beach access from this property to your 6 reserved beach chairs can’t be beat. Sunset views from the porch were also wonderful. The house has a lot of stairs and the guest house spiral stairs were too challenging for grandma.

Shangra-la stay

Everything at our stay was great. Fantastic house on the beach with great view. Great gated community with 3 pools, restaurants and other shops. The house had all the amenities and toys you would want. Joan the owner was great and gave us tips for the area and things to do and was very flexible in scheduling the rental. We will definitely come back if we can. 5+ star all the way.

Absolutely loved it!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The house was beautiful with plenty of space, and we had everything we needed. We loved being right on the beach and having the beach chairs already furnished and not having to worry about the hassle of renting them. We also loved having three stories as well as the La-ti-da guest house. We also really enjoyed the gated community and neighborhood, as well as the pet friendly atmosphere and being able to take our dogs for walks each day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Beach vacation

Accommodations were just as described in the listing. This was the PERFECT beach home for a large family. The beach was pristine; weather perfect. Our family of 14 had the best time . We could not have found a better place to gather! My husband said his favorite place was the swing on the second floor master porch at night watching the summer storms 😊 Joan is an exceptional host! We hope to visit again ! Highly recommend if you want to walk out your back door onto a crystal white beach!!

A True Gem

We had one of the best vacations we have ever had in Florida. The Carillon Beach location is perfect - very quiet and family friendly. We usually stay in the heart of 30A, but this is our new favorite place - a little quieter and less chaotic than being right on 30A. The house is a true architectural gem. We had a couple of lawyers and an executive in our party, so the guesthouse was used for conference calls and a quiet work area, and it worked so well for us. Joan and Helen were so helpful and kind. We can’t say enough good things about our experience at ShangriLa!

Lovely family week

Lovely home, friendly and responsive host, wonderful location right on the beach. Could do with soap at each sink and there weren’t any sand toys in storage as described-would have been good to know in advance so we could’ve bought some (same for beach towels). Not the host’s fault, but guard at gated entry said they had no record of our reservation so had to wait while guard gate searched and eventually found it.

Not GOOD for Grandma

We loved the description of the property; so excited to get there… Last year we stayed just down the street and LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT… It was our family vacation: my wife and I, our two college age daughters, my sisters and their husbands and our 90 year old MOM. Lot’s of stairs…too many stairs for Mom…she had to stay in the separate “la te da” unit at the front of the property. For the price we paid…it was a solid 5…Good News is they allow pets and the couch is very comfortable…I slept there, lol.

Do not rent this house

My family and I stayed at this house July 20th - 27th 2024 . The AC was not working four of the seven days on the first and second floor . The stove in the kitchen was not working five of the seven days . House is extremely outdated the furniture , appliances and electronics are all from the 90s including VHS TVs !!!

Beach Vacation with Large Family

My extended family and I and I stayed at this house for for a week in mid july. We had a very nice time because it was on the beach and it was very easy to get down to the water. There was a master bedroom and 3 other bedrooms in the main house. The upstairs also had futons. The other small house on the property was ideal for kids and supervising adult(s). We had no problem fitting four cars in the courtyard and one on the street. They have a gas grill and a regular grill too. The gas grill is right outside the beach door ao it is super convenient.

Perfect beach location

My family of 12 loved our beach vacation at Rosemary-rich dunes, and Shangri-La. You just can’t beat the beachfront location! Being able to walk a short distance to the waters edge is so nice with my young grandchildren. It has wonderful gathering areas in the dining, living and porch. It has enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our whole family to have their own privacy. The Carillon community, it is located in, is a treasure! It is a gated community therefore it is not crowded, it is very safe and a wonderful neighborhood to walk in. We also enjoyed several of the pools available in the community within a short walking distance. There are grocery stores and restaurants just a mile or two away. My family’s favorite activity was searching for sand crabs after dark so bring your flashlights!

Wonderful vacation! Amazing house!

Shangri-la was an absolutely amazing home for a much needed vacation. It is comfortable decorated, everything worked, it was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space. There is nothing like having a house right on the beach with children. The community is very family friendly. The house was stocked with everything you could ever need from pots and pans to beach toys and a kayak. Joan was a gracious owner that help make our stay everything we had hoped it would be. Latida, the guest house, was perfect for our son and his wife with their pets. We were so happy to find a pet friendly house on the beach which is not easy to find. With an enclosed courtyard, it was much easier with our furbabies. Even with the storm that moved in on our last day, we all hated to leave. We will be back to this wonderful place by the beautiful gulf. Thanks Joan for all your help and sharing your amazing home with us. Dianne Garrett

Stay forever!

We loved our stay at ShangriLa! It is a beautiful house in and absolutely beautiful location! Our whole family discussed it and we would easily stay forever. The only complaint that we had was the stairs! But, we definitely had plenty of exercise on our vacation! We had 8 that ranged in ages from 17-76 and we all enjoyed it. The master bedroom was perfect and my husband and I enjoyed sleeping with the door to the ocean opened. My sister and her husband enjoyed the screened porch outside of their room and the younger adults enjoyed having their own room and shared bathroom on the third floor. My parents slept in the cottage because my dad has a lot of health issues and needs to be close to the restroom with no stairs and is cold all the time, so he was able to turn the heat up to get it warm enough for him, but didn't burn anyone else out. My mom loved being able to sleep in the cottage upstairs because she could spread out and stay up as late as she wanted or get up really early and she didn't have to worry about waking anyone up. The back porch was a favorite hangout for everyone, as was the beach, even though it was pretty chilly, we still enjoyed it. I took my dog on many walks and I loved looking at all the different homes in the area. Thank you for a beautiful vacation spot!

Family stay at Shangri-La and La-Ti-Da

Excellent stay at Shangri-La. We love coming to Carillon every year and this was our first stay at this location. The main house was excellent and had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again. Our only negative experience as a group was with the guest house (La-Ti-Da). We had my mother stay here as she likes her own space. We did not see in the photos or description that the floors are separated by a spiral staircase with the bathroom on lower level and bedroom/living area on upper. This was only an issue as it was difficult for an older person to travel back and forth especially at night. Also, while the main house was extremely clean, the guest house had some leftover food/egg in the sink and the pet smell was pretty obvious. This is a pet-friendly listing so that is to be expected, but the main house did not have this issue. Also the door to the outside deck was not operable as it was warped and we couldn’t open it to the outside. These were only minor issues with the guest house only. We would love to stay at the main house again in the future. Lastly, the host was extremely accommodating with our schedules and allowed us to check in early, which was wonderful. Thank you!!

We had an wonderful memorial day at Shangril-La. The beach was beautiful and house had everything we needed. The property manger was very responsive and stopped by to make sure we were doing well.
