Our stay started off by arriving to the unit after a 6-hour drive only to find the beds not made up, dirty towels in the tub, food in the fridge, etc. Clearly not what we expected. Although the owner was very apologetic and managed to get a cleaning woman in within the hour, we were unable to get our luggage in until 9 pm. The unit is on the 3rd floor and needless to say, lugging our gear up 2 flights of stairs didn't add to the experience. The next day we scoped the place out; couldn't use the garbage disposal, kitchen sink faucet didn't fully retract, trash compactor hadn't been cleaned, bathroom rugs were dirty, heating was questionable with no instructions on how to operate it. The listing describes the unit as "newly remodeled", which is very misleading. Cabinets are "well-used", barstools needed repair, screen to balcony was torn and the overall vibe was one of haphazard-ness. Neither bedroom had any closet space for personal items. The rules of the HOA regarding pets are VERY restrictive. The one good aspect of this VRBO was the location to the dog beach. As we travel with our pup, it was nice to be able to have the beach in such close proximity. We contacted the owner directly with our concerns/experience and she was very gracious about returning our money since we decided to leave a week earlier than planned.
