We really enjoyed our stay! Nice clean townhouse! Will definitely stay here again. Parking is tight so I would not recommend if you have a large SUV. But otherwise our stay we perfect!!

While this review mentioned concerns about bedding and overall cleanliness, no issues were reported to us during that stay, so we weren’t made aware of anything that needed attention at the time. In fact, the guest mentioned how much they loved the place after they checked in. The review also mentioned a refrigerator issue. The appliance was functioning once restarted and plugged during that guest’s stay, and we didn’t receive any further communication afterward. Good location. Close to the beach, restaurants, and grocery.

This condo worked out perfectly for our family! We were only a 10 minute drive to Huntington and Newport. It was convenient being close to Trader Joes and great restaurants in Costa Mesa. We would stay there again.

Very convenient location and close to anything you would need. Can walk to restaurants, bars, and Trader Joes. Close to beaches and Harbor Blvd where you can get Anything you could want or need.

Quiet Neighborhood/Convenient Location

Great space in Costa Mesa

This place is in a convenient location in Costa Mesa that allows you quick access to other parts of Orange County. It was as advertised in the photos with great space in both bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. This was super clean and had all the necessities needed for week’s stay. The communication was great and the checkout process a breeze. Highly recommend.

We had a very disappointing stay at this property and ended up leaving early, without any refund. To start: the home was noticeably dirty and far more run down than the listing photos suggest. Several walls were damaged or stained, the fireplace was broken, and the refrigerator had only one shelf, making it impossible to store the groceries we brought for our trip. The dishwasher’s lower rack was broken, preventing the sprayer from functioning properly. The coffee maker was rusty, and the washing machine had black mold under the lid. Both showers also had black mold in the grout. One bathroom had such dim lighting over the sink that it was difficult to see in the mirror at night.While all of these issues were frustrating, the real reason we had to leave was safety. For three nights in a row, between midnight and 2 a.m., people were outside the unit screaming, yelling, and fighting. This woke our entire family and terrified our children. When we contacted the owners, they asked us to find out who the people were—something we were absolutely not willing to do given the situation. We told them we no longer felt safe staying there and would be leaving early. We requested a refund for the unused nights (we had booked 10 days), and they refused to work with us.This experience turned the beginning of our vacation into a stressful, exhausting ordeal. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and peaceful place for a family getaway, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

This review is retaliatory and does not reflect the actual condition or operation of our home. The guest reported hearing noise outside one night and then requested a full refund after already checking in. For future guests, here are the facts. Cleanliness and condition are taken seriously. A detailed checklist is followed after every stay, and a full deep cleaning was completed on March 30, including the walls and washing machine. The home is maintained consistently and does not present as “run down.” Our track record of five-star reviews and Superhost status reflects this. Specific items mentioned: The walls were addressed and cleaned during the March 30 deep clean. The fireplace is fully functional. Step-by-step instructions were provided, and our handyman confirmed proper operation on January 22. The refrigerator shelf had already been replaced on March 4, prior to this stay. The dishwasher was inspected on January 26. All components, including the lower rack and wheels, were confirmed to be intact and functioning. No similar issues have been reported before or after this guest. The washing machine was thoroughly cleaned during the March 30 deep clean, including under the lid. All bathrooms have proper lighting and are routinely checked as part of ongoing maintenance. Regarding the noise, it was outside the property and not within our control. If the guest had reached out, we would have addressed it with neighboring proper

Good location for several activities

We enjoyed the location for access to Newport, Huntington and Disneyland. Tucked back within apartments and condos with local playground nearby. Great parking for multiple vehicles. The condo was clean with a minor beach wear and tear. Condo was a great find for the price and met all our location needs. Thank you!

Great Location & Straight Forward

The property location really cannot be beaten. It is a quiet spot, 5 min from the best food and drink scene in Costa Mesa. Close to the desired spots on the coast in Huntington, Balboa, and Pacific City. The house is clean but could be a little cleaner. Things like the baseboards and corners of the bathroom usually stick out to me personally. It does have all the amenities listed and check-in/check-out is great.

We agree that it is ideally located nearby to excellent restaurants, bars, and other fun local destinations. We employ a professional team of cleaners who are held to a high standard of clean via a 128+ point checklist requiring photographic proof of clean. We strongly encourage any guests who are not 100% satisfied with any aspect of their stay to let us know as soon as possible following check-in so we can make best efforts immediately to rectify any issues. As we were not alerted of any issues with the cleanliness until after your check out, we did not have an opportunity to make this right before you left. Your comments regarding cleanliness have been communicated to our cleaning team so special attention can be paid to the baseboards and bathroom corners during future cleans. We are glad that you enjoyed all of our included amenities and that the check-in and check-out process was convenient for you! We hope to welcome you back for a future visit!

A refreshing trip for the family.

Overall, we had everything and more with this booking! Not only is the location pretty great, everything we needed for a great beach day was there in the home. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates and cutlery making our stay really enjoyable. Being that we were traveling with a grandparent of 70s for the first time; she was elated and enjoyed it. Mention! Floor may look dirty, but even we saw after a sandy beach day and mopping; it is completely well maintained. Parking was tight for a Tacoma truck but easily manageable to sticking to your parking spot Would totally book again if available!

Great Property!

This property was perfect for our needs. There were just two of us, so there was plenty of space. It was clean and neat, and the property manager had kindly provided cleaning supplies and even Softsoap handsoap--the same kind we use at home. We arrived at 8:30pm and had difficulty finding the driveway in the dark, but it was easy to reach the manager and in addition to telling me how to find it, she also texted me a map. We didn't need to reach the manager often, but any time I called, someone always answered the phone and was very helpful. We highly recommend Stay with Dave and this property.

Stress & Hassle - do not recommend

The property is a bit worn compared to pictures. The fridge is missing a key shelf and property owners have no intention of replacing it which makes fridge capacity limited. Largest issue came when we were leaving one day and the keypad door would not lock - it was malfunctioning. When we contacted "Stay wirh Dave", they expected us to wait for handyman to come fix door but initially could not tell us when door would be fixed. Therefore we had to cancel our plans. Very stressful. When we pressed to have someone else come wait for handyman, they miraculously had key in lockbox on property we could use. At that point our plans had already been cancelled. We were not provided any compensation for the situation. They were dismissive to our being upset saying the delay was "only an hour" when there should have been no delay since there was a solution available on the property (hidden lockbox). Vacation is to have fun and decompress. Stay with Dave showed no concern for hospitality whatsoever. Do not recommend.

Hi Kathryn, We were disappointed to hear of your perception of our cozy multi-level townhome in Costa Mesa. We aim for our listing images and descriptions to be as accurate as possible in order to paint a real picture of what guests can expect when staying with us. These images are even used by our professional cleaning team as a standard for how the unit should look prior to a check in. Our fridge contains all of the shelves it is supposed to and we have photographic proof of this from our cleaning team (both before and after your stay) as they take photos of the interior of all our appliances during turnover cleans to ensure the unit is returned to its original condition between each group of guests. When you reached out to us regarding the keypad not locking, our team was responsive and resolved the issue for you in less than an hour's time. We were sorry for any inconvenience, but did rectify the issue fully and promptly. It is our goal to address any issues brought to our attention during a stay immediately, which we did uphold in this situation.

Beds were great, sofa not so much

The cleaning crew arrived at the same time we did--check in time. We adjourned to the small back porch while cleaners proceeded. No problem. The porch had a large green mold stain from the window a/c unit's drip from the second floor. When our white socks stuck to the floor, I went to the local Ralph's and purchased a wet swiffer and Clorox cleaner & scrub brush. Cleaned floor and porch. Understand it's summer with quick turn around. Found roaches in dish cabinet and proceeded to wash all dishes prior to use. Received a call that maintenance was coming to repair tile in bathroom and stove (1 burner on gas stove was missing plate.). We did not request maintenance-- maintenance did not arrive. Beds were clean and comfortable. No evidence of bugs upstairs. Hot water was plentiful as as towels. Air conditioning window units worked well. Parking was tight. We were blocked in by neighbors maintenance vehicles twice. They moved albeit reluctantly when asked. Short story, it was okay but not great. If visiting for work, I'd recommend. If visiting for vacation, it isn't designed for leisure. Sofa was small for 2 adults to sit on.

Hi Patricia, We hope you and your family had a nice time in our upscale, multi-level townhome in Costa Mesa! We employ a professional team of cleaners that are held to a high standard of cleanliness. As the previous guests of the unit had left quite a mess, the cleaners did have to return to the unit to finish and ensure that it was properly cleaned and sanitized for your group. We appreciate your comments about the mold under the AC unit drip and have requested that our cleaning team pay special attention to that area during future cleans. We have also had the areas mentioned sprayed to address any bugs that you may have seen during your stay. The unit features two outdoor parking spaces, which are marked for your use. Thank you for the feedback regarding the neighbor’s maintenance vehicles, we have alerted the main office to ensure this is avoided in the future. The unit is 1,100 square feet and has been furnished appropriately based on the amount of space available. We hope you will consider visiting with us again in the future. Do Not Stay Here

This property does not accurately reflect what the pictures display. The property has dated dramatically in 3-4 years from when the pics were taken. There was black mold in the showers. The floor was more dirty than our home floors (with 4 young kids) are if we didn’t clean them for 30 days. There is little acknowledgement from management about the issues. Even with pics and videos they blamed it on us because we checked on the property 15 mins before checkin - the cleaners were still there, so we left and came back 45 mins later - and because we were there the cleaners said they couldn’t finish. We literally pulled dishes out that had food stuck to them. All the bowls and dozens of forks and spoons. We even pulled out a butter knife with butter covering it. It was pretty gross. The property does NOT have carbon monoxide detectors and is missing a smoke alarm device. Management didn’t seem to care. We left this property after VRBO told us the owners have violated the T&Cs and we booked the rest of our trip in a hotel. We’ve tried to work with management on a refund with zero responses back. Even VRBO cannot get them back on the phone to refund us. We’ve had to file chargebacks on our credit cards because of this issue. We are hoping to get a refund. Book your vacation elsewhere. Between the terrible conditions of the property, matched with the constant smell of marijuana in the vicinity, you’ll be better off staying at a best western than here.

Our professional cleaning team uses these images as a guide to ensure our home exceeds guest expectations along with a 128-point checklist with required photographic proof of clean. We acknowledge that our cleaning team was still completing the turnover clean at the home when you arrived early. When our team requested to complete the clean before you entered, you refused and forced them to leave. After they left, you began reaching out to our team to complain about cleanliness. We can confirm that as of August 17, 2023 there is no black mold in the bathroom, all utensils are thoroughly cleaned, and the unit is stocked with working smoke and CO2 detectors.

The perfect location.

We absolutely loved our stay in this lovely condo. There were so many extras that made life so much easier. So many toiletries supplied, and the kitchen was fully stocked. The bedding was amazing as well. The patio was huge and we were able to store our bikes, which we took several rides along the river to the beach. Having parking was so convenient and we will definitely be back. Thank you again!
