Fabulous stay with a fabulous view

We had a wonderful week, the house, grounds, views and lake were all amazing. The wine selection available to buy was a big hit. Alexandra and her Father were a great hosts and really added to our experience. We would definitely love to stay again.

C'est parfait!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Bagatelle. The Villa itself is absolutely perfectly situated on the lake with beautiful views, walking distance to both Menthon-St-Bernard, and Veyrier-du-Lac. The house is perfectly designed to be incredibly comfortable for a large group (we were three adults and three children). The pictures are an absolutely faithful representation of the property. What they miss is the added value of Alexandra's and Michel's hospitality. Alexandra has put together an incredibly useful book of things to do in the area in every possible area of interest. She recommended a private chef who was the best, and the most reasonably priced private chef we have ever used. She went to the grocery store for us prior to our arrival, to ease our entry. She arranged a boat rental for us, and recommended a wonderful outing for lunch to Col de la Forclaz, which the whole family loved. Michel, too, was so generous and friendly, greeting us with two bottles of wine, and even showing my car-obssessed son his car collection. Oh, also, Michel has an excellent wine cellar with excellent vintages from excellent producers throughout France. We stopped at Beaune on our way to pick up wine for the trip, but that was totally unnecessary, as we could have simply had a wider range of choices (including even mature Haut-Brion) that were also very reasonably priced, and properly stored. Annecy was the highlight of our trip, and one of the favorite places we have visited ever. There was so much to do, from hiking, to boating, to eating, to swimming, to shopping, and beyond. The hospitality of the Montants and their beautiful property were essential to making it such a lovely stay. We hope to return!

Placid Perfection

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Bagetelle. The house is absolutely flawless, as is the location on the lake. It is situated right between Veyrier-du-lac and Menthon-St-Bernard, so an easy walk to both, and to the beach areas of both. Alexandra and Michel were incredibly welcoming and helpful, greeting us with two lovely bottles of wine, humoring me and speaking French with me when practical. Michel even showed my car-obsessed son his antique car collection. Every service was offered, including getting groceries before we arrived, helping us to arrange a private chef for a few meals (whose food was absolutely incredible), and organizing boat rental right at the house. Alexandra provided an incredibly useful book of local attractions, maps, etc., for every possible interest. The location is simply incredible, close to incredible hiking including La Tournette (bring ski poles if early in the summer, it's a bit harrowing) and Mont Veyrier, and easier more family-friendly hikes like the Cascade (waterfall) d'Angon (still feels pretty adventurous at the end). And close to so many natural wonders that you can drive to such as Col de la Forclaz, or under La Tournette another Col also with incredible views. We left our kids with our sitter for one night and made an overnight trip to Maison de Bois which was an incredible side trip. And our lunch at Auberge Père Bise may have been the most pleasant lunch we have ever had. Honestly, I can't say enough positive about the house, the hosts, or the location. Oh, there is also an incredible wine collection from which you can purchase wines, which is really a great boon. We had stopped in Beaune on the way over, not expecting something like that, but really, the caliber of the wine was truly impressive. Honestly, this was one of our favorite places we have ever visited, and I hope we return.

Paradise on Earth

Excellent property to stay in, it is a 5 star villa. Very neat and clean and right on the lake front with each and every essential thing inside the villa. Very nice and welcoming owners, take extra care for every small little thing. Hospitality at its best. I would love to come here again with family and kids. Kids had a blast.

Amazing home, view

We had a wonderful week long stay at this beautiful home. The house has modern furnishings and the condition of the home is stellar. The lawn sloping down to the dock and aqua colored lake are exactly as in the photo. The owners could not have been nicer . Thank you Michel and Alexandra for a most memorable, peaceful, fun week in your beautiful house.

Paradise villa by the Annecy lake

The villa is perfect. Furniture and artwork is outstanding! The lake and the mountain, and the lake side garden is paradise! We will come back! Best house we have ever rented and we have rented about 20 houses in France, Italy and Spain.

Fantastic stay for our group of 4 couples

First the perfect location on the east side of Annecy lake, with direct access to the water and a stunning view, convenient and close to a lot of possible activities (kayaking provided by the villa, paragliding, biking, trecking, sightseeing, restaurants, supermarkets, etc). Better to have a car though. Second the warm welcome of the owners Michel Montant and his daughter Alexandra both charming. They equipped the villa with the minimum needed upon arrrival (bed sheets, towels, shampoo, shower gel, body gel, toilet paper, dishwasher soap,...) and offered us a generous first breakfast. Third the freshly renovated villa and its luxurious amenities : 5 ensuite bedrooms that can accomodate 10 persons easily, 2 additional wc's, A/C, chimney, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, washing and drying machine, wine cellar, free coffee and coffee machine, ping pong table, outdoor jacuzzi that can fit 8, a large garden and terrace all decorated with taste with an obvious attention to tiniest details. Last but not least the advice and contacts of the Montant family for activities, restaurants etc, among which an amazing Chef Frederique Fouquet who organized for us a Michelin-star level dinner. All in all, we will be back!!

An excellent property in a beautiful setting

The property was just as lovely as its description and met all of our expectations. The owners couldn't have been more kind and helpful and ensured that our stay was a great success. I would thoroughly recommend this villa and would happily stay there again .

Amazing stay - even in the pouring rain!

Three families stayed here together (6 adults and 4 kids, two under 4 years of age) for a week and we had an amazing time despite the rain! Stunning house, very high spec with outstanding amenities. Movie room and hot tub were much used and having the BBQ was great. It was a bit cold for the lake but it didn't stop us and having the double canoe was brilliant. Lots to do in the local area and some fantastic food shops within a 5 minute drive. Our hosts were fantastic and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
