Our family of four (my husband and I and two boys), spent a week at Livin' It Up during the last week of May 2019. This is our fourth time to 30A, and our fourth time renting a vacation home so we have a good point of reference when leaving a review. That being said, we were extremely happy with this home.
The location was absolutely perfect-- a short, two block walk to the town center of Seaside proper. The roads were not paved, so this made for a bit of a dusty bike ride/walk to town, but the proximity and view of all the beautiful homes along the way made up for the inconvenience. There was very little traffic near the home, but there is a bit of construction at nearby properties but we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of noise from the work sites.
The home itself was well stocked with all the necessary amenities and had all the comforts of home. The pool was a wonderful addition, and we spent quite a bit of time there. The pool deck is somewhat shady throughout the day, so we elected to have it heated and I would recommend that unless you like a more brisk swim.
Every home has its quirks, but we encountered only a few minor inconveniences during our stay. The appliances in the kitchen were all new. Nonetheless, the freezer drawer was a bit touchy and wouldn't keep things like ice cream and Popsicles frozen. Additionally, the security alarm for the door leading from the downstairs bedroom to the pool deck did not operate properly, so there was no way to avoid the loud buzzing when entering the home from that patio, but we just used the alternative entrance instead. No biggie. None of these things warranted a call to management, and if we had called, I'm sure they would have remedied them immediately given my dealings with them otherwise.
There were also an abundance of mosquitoes around the property, but we have come to expect this during the muggy summer months in Florida--we just used bug spray and that essentially kept them off of us.
The home was beautifully decorated and the screened porch off the upstairs king bedroom was my favorite spot for reading in the afternoons after a day at the beach. There were only two bathrooms (no half bath), but this suited us just fine. Do be aware that the upstairs king bedroom and bunk room share a bath via Jack and Jill entrance.
Especially due to the location, we will definitely keep this house in mind for our annual trip again next year.
