Pratello Garden apt is a gem

My husband and I stayed at this bright, airy apt for two months and loved it. It has been completely updated with a wonderful modern bath, stylishly decorated kitchen - living - dining space and a large master with storage. There is a huge fridge and freezer as well as oven, microwave, stove, dishwasher and washing machine. The living area has French doors and opens onto a great outdoor space. There are extra linens, great dishes/pans etc and we had guests stay in the pull out couch/bed. Pratello is a lively night area with bars and restaurants and is a bit rough on first sight with graffitti but I always felt safe. The apt is quiet and cool with thick stone walls. The location is fantastic - near great markets, grocery stores and 5-10 minutes to the center of the historic area. We had bikes and storing them in the inner courtyard between the street and the apt worked out great. Giulia was lovely, friendly and helpful.

Beautiful apartment, great location!

We stayed at Pratello Gardens for two weeks during our honeymoon to Bologna, and absolutely loved it! Giulia spoke perfect English (which helped, since we speak very little Italian), and she was incredibly helpful. She emailed back very promptly and answered all of my many questions (this was our first VRBO rental) with patience. When we arrived, she met us at the apartment, gave us a map of Bologna with close groceries and convenience stores marked on it, and showed us around the apartment. During our stay, she made us dinner recommendations and reservations, and even scheduled a taxi for us when we needed to get to the airport - she was a huge help! The apartment itself is absolutely charming - large living/kitchen area, comfortable bedroom with plenty of linens, and a spacious bathroom with lots of towels. Opening up the two french doors to the beautiful, quiet, green garden was the perfect way to end our evenings! The building is very safe and quiet, but Via Pratello itself is quite lively (in a good way!) with delicious restaurants and fun bars. Location-wise, this apartment is perfect - we'd never visited Bologna before, but this is a very central spot which allowed us to access all of the city centre easily on foot. Just a 5-10 minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore and Due Torri, and there's a taxi stand at the end of Pratello if you need to take a taxi to get further out of the centre! If you're looking for a comfortable, centrally located, and homey feeling apartment in Bologna, this is the one. We really look forward to staying here again for future visits!

Abbiamo scelto questo appartamento proprio per la sua centralità e per il piccolo giardino . In realtà , siamo rimaste un pò deluse per la disorganizzazione sia al check in che nel mal funzionamento di alcuni apparecchi ( televisore, per es.) In verità il proprietario ha cercato di porre rimedio ma non è stato possibile per via delle festività. Non lo consiglierei.......

Gentile "anonimo", grazie per la recensione. Ovviamente ci sentiamo in dovere di rispondere ad alcuni commenti che non corrispondono alla realtà. Dopo 8 anni dall'apertura di Pratello Garden questa è la prima recensione a due stelle e questo ci stupisce molto e ovviamente ci dispiace. Inanzitutto peró dobbiamo precisare che le signore hanno richiesto di arrivare un giorno prima, cioè la sera della Vigilia di Natale, detto ció fino all'ultimo non abbiamo ricevuto loro notizie (ci è stato comunicato che avevano mandato un messaggio ma mai è arrivato!) solamente una chiamata alle 18 quando già erano di fronte alla casa. Con grande rapidità siamo corsi ad accoglierle. Come effettivamente dice la recensione purtroppo la tv non funzionava (TUTTI GLI ALTRI ELETTODOMESTICI INVECE FUNZIONAVANO E FUNZIONANO PERFETTAMENTE!!) a quel punto il 25 di dicembre, giorno di Natale ci siamo recati alla struttura per cercare di porre rimedio anche se purtroppo non siamo riusciti e abbiamo offerto dunque una soluzione alternativa: un dispositivo apple tv visto che anche ordinando una tv nuova non sarebbe arrivata in tempo. Le signore non hanno peró accettato questa nostra offerta. Ci dispiace comunque molto leggere che il titolo della recensione sia "una casa trascurata" dato che è un appartamento assolutamente in ordine e sempre pulito come anche le altre recensioni evidenziano. Durante il loro breve soggiorno mi sono messa in contatto più volte con le ospiti ma mi è sempre stato detto che non c'era problema per la questione della tv e che tutto procedeva bene. Un gran peccato...

Great location, tenant noise is a problem.

Via Pratello is in a location that allows walking to most major sights in Bologna. It has wonderful small bars and restaurants just outside on the street. Because of the internal courtyard, outside noise from surrounding establishments is not an issue when the courtyard door is closed. A major problem for the apartment is the tenants within the apartment complex. One in particular chooses to blast loud music and sing along with it during the night! Ear plugs did not help. The apartment has a nice courtyard of its own which is convenient for drying clothes on a drying rack that is provided. Unfortunately Guilia was not able to meet us during our extended stay but was available by email.

Primo location, large bathroom and comfy bed

We recently spent three nights at this location and it was exactly as advertised. If you drive into Bologna you will need to find parking near the street this is on as you cannot park on this street. We found a parking garage for $25 EU a day which worked fine for us. Giulia’s mom met us at the home and we appreciate her waiting for us as we were delayed getting there. She was very nice and showed us around the home. The full sized fridge was a bonus, the bathroom shower was very big and the large bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the location as we could step out the door and get cappuccino, a snack, groceries and a drink. We became friendly with Jianni a local bar owner who had good wine, a full bar and he served free apps when you ordered drinks. We were within an easy walk to the Piazza and all the restaurants. The home was well equipped with an iron and board, kettle for heating water, and a dishwasher! There was some kind of event going on so there were hordes of people in town which made for great people watching. On Friday the partying stopped around 2 or 3 AM and we could hear some street noise from the home. Saturday was epic though as one of the neighbors must have brought the party inside and the noise outside never stopped. Our bad for not bringing earplugs. When we left to catch the train at 5:15 AM there were still people wandering around who had clearly been up all night. The noise obviously cannot be controlled and this was a special occasion but I recommend good ear plugs just in case. We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor space but there was plenty of natural light and it was a great place to stay. We would love to come back to Bologna and would would stay here again.

Bologne comme à la maison!

Appartement très agréable : propre, spacieux et calme. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Tout est accessible à pied : centre ville, supermarché, restaurants... L'accueil était également parfait et la communication avec Giulia était des plus sympathiques et efficaces.

First floor apartment.

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is located in a busy night section of the city, great place if you want night life. Easy location to get to the historic areas. The weather was cold so couldn’t use the garden. Don’t recommend for much cooking. Giulia is a great host, responded quickly as needed and helped order a taxi for an early departure.

A perfect location for enjoying Bologna

The Via del Pratello neighborhood is a perfect location for enjoying Bologna. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. The accommodations were quite comfortable. The weather wasn’t ideal, which meant we couldn’t take advantage of the patio, but it was nice to look at. Via del Pratello is a busy area with lots of bars and restaurants. Friday and Saturday nights were hopping, but the apartment is shielded from most of the noise and most bars close at midnight. I’d recommend staying here.

Agréable séjour à Bologne

La location de Gullia était super. Quartier qui bouge à 2 pas de la place Maggiore et des nombreux restaurants. Même si le soir il y a du monde dans les rues l’emplacement de la location au fond d’une cour est calme avec un petit jardin agréable.

Great find in Bologna!

My husband and I recently stayed in this apartment for 4 nights during our visit to Bologna. We can't say enough great things -- the apartment was large and spotlessly clean; we loved having aperitivo in the back garden, and appreciated the air conditioning! The owner was in touch to make sure we were comfortable and had all we needed, as well as offering to answer any questions we had about the area. The location was perfect -- close to everything, and we especially enjoyed being surrounded by great cafes, bars, and restaurants. Yet, inside the apartment it was practically silent and it was easy to get a good night's rest. We would love to stay here again should we be fortunate enough to visit this lovely city again. Thank you to Giulia!

Proche du centre ville, facile d'accès quand on est en voiture et que l'on souhaite visiter les environs de Bologna. Ouvert sur le jardin et climatisé, il est parfait pour un séjour en été, permet de se reposer au calme ou bien d'avoir rapidement accès à la piazza Maggiore. les commerçants sont proches ainsi que des restaurants via Pratello et via Felice. La région est à visiter avec de belles découvertes à Vignola, la région de Zocca et l'Eglise San Michele dans les faubourgs de Bologna; Excellent séjour

Sehr attraktive Lage

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön gelegen. Die Via del Pratello ist voll von Bars und Pubs und abends stehen die Menschen davor, ratschen und genießen das Leben. Eine schöne Atmosphäre. Dennoch sind die Wohnung und der kleine Garten sehr ruhig. Im Zentrum ist man in spätestens 10 Gehminuten. Wir haben es sehr genossen!

A perfect hideaway

This apartment is on a very lively street filled with restaurants. The apartment itself is set well back from the street, through a courtyard, so you don't hear the noise when you want to go to bed. There is a greengrocer a few steps away and within a five minute walk you will find a grocery store. The main piazza, Maggiori, where you will find the tourist office is a twenty minute stroll. The apartment itself is nicely equipped and the private back garden provides a quiet sanctuary in which to enjoy a glass of wine at day's end. Giulia was a great host, and provided everything we needed. We very much enjoyed our stay.

A very comfortable home away from home and we loved hearing birdsong in the back garden.

We chose Bologna for our introduction to Italy because we wanted to experience life in an Italian metropolis. We enjoyed our visits to the Collezioni Comunali d'Atre (the hour before closing) and the Collezioni Tagliavini (just after opening). Both of these museums are within a few minutes walk of Pratello Garden, as are most of the city's other main attractions (make sure you take a look inside the Basilica of San Petronio). We were quite comfortable in the apartment when we returned in the evening following our wanderings. As other reviewers have pointed out, the apartment is on a street that transforms itself at night and, for the most part, it is possible to enjoy a quiet evening at "home", if that is to your liking. The bed was very comfortable and we loved hearing birdsong in the back garden each morning!

Super location for a comfortable apartment

Guilia is a helpful and friendly host. We had a small problem with the shower drain which she fixed straightaway. The apartment was warm, comfortable and well equipped. And the location is excellent - lots of great places to eat on the same street.

Eine unvergessliche Zeit in Bologna

Das Apartment liegt fußläufig zum Zentrum in einem lebendigen Teil der Stadt mit guter Infrastruktur, umgeben von Restaurants und Bars, und - weil nach hinten hinaus gelegen - trotzdem ausgesprochen ruhig. Das geräumige Appartement ist sauber, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was für einen Aufenthalt wichtig ist und ihn angenehm macht. Schon während der Vorbereitung und dann auch während meines Aufenthaltes in Bologna habe ich mich von Giulia so unterstützt gefühlt, wie ich es mir nur wünschen konnte.

Perfect location, quiet and very comfortable

I stayed in the apartment with 2 friends and we found it to be perfect for our needs. We loved sitting outside in the courtyard in the evenings and the apartment is on the back of the building, so very quiet, but the street it is located on is very lively. We enjoyed having a variety of bars and restaurants at our doorstep and it feels like you're staying in a neighborhood. Once the shopkeepers saw us a few times, they recognized us and were super friendly. Giulia was very helpful and kind.

Cool oasis in a hot town

I really enjoyed staying in this lovely apartment. I was in Bologna for two extremely hot weeks and it was so refreshing to come home to this place that always stayed cool. People really knew how to build back then! Having the charming garden was such a delight: breakfast outside enjoying the warmth and the plants. The apartment is fully equipped and had everything I could wish for from dishwater to washing machine and oven. Everything is in excellent condition and the owner is very nice and accommodating. Needless to say that everything was clean and well looked after. The apartment is inside the city walls and very close to the center of town. The street itself is famous for its atmosphere and restaurants and bars. Although the street is busy at night, the apartment is very quiet because it towards the back of the building. I can highly recommend this apartment.

Oasis de calme dans l'effervescente Bologne!

Appartement très bien situé, bien tenu et très bien équipé! Accueil chaleureux. La très jolie cour nous a permis de prendre des repas dans une oasis de calme à deux pas de la Via del Pratello sympathique, animée et joyeuse. Un appartement que nous recommandons sans réserves !

Quiet central Bologna apartment

This apartment was ideally situated for Bologna city centre, approximately a 20 minute walk from the main station (buses were available). Although in a busy street with bars and restaurants, it was very quiet being at the back of a courtyard. The apartment was accurately described, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We were met at the apartment by Giulia who was helpful regarding additional information such as supermarkets, etc. There was a good range of books and tourist leaflets. The trees from the adjoining garden overshadowed Pratello's garden. Whilst providing heavy shade, this made the garden and the apartment a little gloomy. We would stay at this apartment again as it is so central and would recommend it for couples.

Ein zauberhafter, ruhiger Ort in zentraler Lage

Geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet, dazu mit einem sehr schönen Gärtchen. An einer sehr lebhaften Straße mit Bars und Restaurants, aber ruhig im Hinterhaus gelegen. Kaum 10 Min. zu Fuß ins Stadtzentrum. Das Gärtchen ist sehr schattig, also besonders gut für den Sommer. Aber auch innen in der Wohnung ist es sehr gemütlich. Dazu sehr, sehr aufmerksame und nette Vermieter. Absolut empfehlenswert!
