Accommodation was perfect with everything you need. Very good shower and nice pool for relaxing by. Joaquin was a great host and ensured we had everything we needed even organising g a tour for us.

A little piece of paradise just outside Porto! We really enjoyed our stay. Property was well equipped and clean. Grounds were fantastic with lovely pool and gardens. Easy/cheap uber into Porto and free parking available as we drove up from Lisbon and did a day trip to Douro valley. Our host Joao was amazing and a pleasure to deal with before and during the trip. Would definitely return!

Great house with everything you need! The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need! The house was very clean. Great outside area, lovely swimming pool! Location was perfect, so close to the beach and 20 min per bike to Porto (15 min Uber). The host Joaquim was very hospitable, taking very good care of us, and helping with everything we needed!

Beautiful Oasis 5 minutes from beach and promenade

This is a beautiful property. It's tucked away with lots of green space and privacy, very close to a gorgeous and endless beach and a wonderful promenade that stretches for miles dotted by restaurants and cafes. Joaquim is a wonderful host. He really takes pride and treats wonderfully.

Best VRBO in Europe

Joaquim and his wife Rosalina were truly magnificent hosts. The property was more than expected. the house is in walking distance to the beach with off street parking for beginners. The owner left his own olive oil and port wine both were delicious. There is a private pool if the beach is chilly you can swim her. It was great to have the space in this wonderful house.

Historic house in the middle of modern growth

Our host Joaquim was very nice and accommodating. The house and grounds were immaculate. It was wonderful to have access to onsite laundry. It is about a three minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. We rented a car so access was very easy into Porto. There is a local bus stop right next to the property. We would absolutely stay at this location again.

Comfortable clean and well equipped

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is great, just a short walk from the ocean boardwalk. It was by far the best equipped kitchen and laundry of all of the places we stayed. The host was excellent and responded very quickly to any questions we had. The pool and property is lively and great for a day of rest between adventures

Joaquim was an informative and pleasant host. He greeted us with a plethora of local information and advice, as well as some lovely port wine that he had produced. The property had everything we needed.

Wonderful

A charming host, who helped us get situated and recommended restaurants in this property that is an oasis, within the city of Gaia was nothing short of a delight! Walking along the sea on the Promenade was great fun. And you are just a short Uber away from historic Porto.

Oasis in the Heart of the City

Our host Joaquin has carved out a wonderful oasis in the middle of a city. The grounds are full of beautiful flowering plants and shrubs, as well as an impressive vegetable garden. There are sweeping lawns and giant pots full of carefully tended flowers. Comfortable, quality furniture and homemade port wine were fine touches. All the thoughtful amenities certainly made the apartment feel like home. Joaquin provided a personal welcome tour, pointed out restaurants and shopping areas. He also helped confirm our upcoming tour, obtained complicated meeting point details. This apartment was perfect for quiet relaxation while providing close access to beautiful beaches and a long, well-constructed walkway along the shore. We experienced fine dining as well as an outdoor breakfast bordering the beach. We will make this a definite stop whenever we are in the area again.

Wonderful location by the Atlantic!

The property is located in Vila de Gaia, across the river from Porto. It is close to the Atlantic and lots of cafe's, shops and good restaurants. The home is private, quiet and beautiful. Our stay was great and Joaquin was a pleasure to meet and talk to. He was very attentive and kind and made our stay comfortable. It is also worth mentioning that he makes his own Port wine, it was a nice jesture and it is honestly the best we have ever had! We would definitely recommend staying there and would not hesitate to return in the future!

Great little bungalow

Joaquim and his wife welcomed us into their home with a detailed introduction to the bungalow, showing us how everything worked. I was amazed to see they’d put out a bottle of their own homemade port and had taken the time to mark up a map of Porto with recommendations. One of our children is disabled and we asked for a mattress to be put on the floor - Joaquim and his wife were unfazed by this and quickly arranged everything so that it was perfect. The house is very clean and the kitchen well-supplied. The pool is also really lovely - the photos don’t quite do it justice. All in all the place is a great find - near the beach, a cab ride from the city, and with.caring and solicitous owners.

Great Cottage In Gaia Close To The Beach

Joaquim is a very friendly and accessible host. On arrival he met us at the gate, and showed us around the cottage and the property. He also provided us with a map of the area and indicated useful and interesting places to visit. The cottage is one of two adjoining units. They share a very nice pool that is surrounded by a hedge for privacy. The cottage is beautiful and clean. The bed is very comfortable and has high quality linen. The property itself has a large vegetable garden as well as a chicken coop which gives it a rural feel, even though it is surrounded by flats and houses. Access to the property is from a busy street so be mindful when exiting and entering through the large metal gate. The ocean is a short walk away. There are miles of sandy beaches on the Gaia side with walkways and bicycle paths. Really beautiful. Lots of beach bars, restaurants and a supermarket close by. We shopped at the supermarket and prepared many of our meals at home. You can walk along the river to Porto, or take an Uber to get there. We also used the bus, as well as the Metro in Porto. Many cool things to do and see in Porto. We enjoyed the Fado show, the six bridges boat ride, Sea Life and of course the beautiful buildings and architecture. People are friendly and the food is great!

Great stay in Vila Nova da Gaia

Joaquim and Rosalina could not have been nicer and more helpful to us during our stay. (Especially when I had a bit of lower stomach bug during our stay). Also appreciated the help with dinner reservations and recommendations. Thanks again, Joaquim!

What a wonderful hideaway!

The property itself is gorgeous, the accommodations unique, private walled in area right near gorgeous beaches and wonderful restaurants. Our host was very responsive, friendly, and generous. We cooked some at the house, but ate out a lot. We enjoyed the swimming pool at various times during every day, and just chilling out on our little veranda. I hope everyone gets to enjoy the sunset Canine Chorale and the beautiful sunsets.
