Great Location, Very Poor Housekeeping
This was our first stay on St George Island. The area is amazing. With the lack of light pollution, we were able to see all the stars in the sky as well as take images. The beaches were almost completely empty. The water on the gulf side was not as clear as just up the road at beaches on Cape San Blas, Panama City or Destin during the same week. The weather was perfect the entire week, so that didn’t play into the water clarity. Perhaps it comes from the river that empties into the bay. About the house, keep in mind that the wide angle lenses used for the images makes everything look much larger. It was not a small house, but not as big as we were expecting. We arrived just after the 5pm check in. Someone had been in the house to do the cleaning because the beds were made and the towels were washed and folded. However, that appeared to be all that was done. The floor was dirty to the point that you could not walk around bare footed. We found short hairs all around the bathroom floors at the walls. The spa tub in the master bathroom had a ring of dirt that had to be cleaned before it could be used. The refrigerator was full of little flies. We found a dirty swimsuit stuffed into the family room couch. We also found part of a sandwich along with other trash behind the upstairs couch. My wife spent part of her vacation cleaning what needed to be cleaned so that we could be somewhat comfortable in our vacation rental. I reached out to the property manager to allow them an opportunity to make us whole and was told that I had missed our 24 hour window after check in to report problems. I would not recommend staying at this house or any other house with this property management company.
Also, the master bathroom shower door will not shut. Only part of the refrigerator can be used due to a broken drawer in the bottom. The telescope in the ad does not have all the parts and is there just for show.
