Luxury Hacienda-Style Villa with Extraordinary Ocean Views

We welcome you to relax and enjoy uninterrupted views of the Bay of Banderas from the comfort and luxury of our Mexican Hacienda-style hillside villa: Casa del Quetzal. Unwind, feel the breeze, and take in the beauty of the ocean, mountains, and lush jungle surroundings.

About the Villa:
Casa del Quetzal offers five air-conditioned bedroom suites with king beds, each with an ensuite bathroom, several inviting common areas, and a heated 35-ft infinity pool. All suites were recently renovated and upgraded by the architect who originally built the villa. The results are stunning and include two ensuites specifically designed to accommodate guests with mobility issues.

Villa: 10 adults
In-house apartment (optional for $250/night): 2 adults

Services Included:
Our rates include the services of a chef, butler, and housekeeper from Monday to Saturday (no service on Sunday). Each day, our gourmet chef will prepare two exquisite meals with presentation and flavors comparable to those of a high-end restaurant.
Please note that while the preparation of your meals is included in the rental fee, you are responsible for the cost of the ingredients used to prepare your selected drinks and meals. For your convenience, the chef will do the grocery shopping; please reimburse him for the cost of groceries upon presentation of receipts.

For your convenience, we will connect you with a reliable concierge company to assist with services not provided by the villa, such as transportation, spa treatments, and tours.

We seldom work with rental agents. Listings found on websites other than VRBO or our official website may contain inaccurate information. We are not responsible for content posted on third-party sites. All amenities listed here are up-to-date and accurate.

Cancellation Policy:
* 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before check-in.
* 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before check-in.
* No refund for cancellations made less than 14 days before check-in.
Free cancellation deadlines are based on the property’s time zone.

Damage and Incidentals: a $1,200 USD security deposit is required. Guests are responsible for any damage to the property caused during their stay.

Dear Potential Guest:

The Mexican Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR) has requested that a signed short-term rental agreement be obtained from our guests. In compliance with this requirement, you will receive the agreement as part of the rental process. This is not our preference, but it is a requirement. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Check-in: After 3:00 p.m.  Check-out: Before 11:00 a.m.

House rules:
Maximum occupancy: 10 adults in the villa; 2 adults in the on-site apartment (additional fee, as described above).

No smoking indoors or while using pool lounge chairs.

Visitors require pre-approval and cannot stay overnight. More than 4 visitors will incur a fee equal to one night’s rental.

No parties or events.

Quiet Hours: 11:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.

Illegal activities are strictly prohibited.

No subletting.

No pets.

Guests are responsible for their own safety and that of their children/dependents. Casa del Quetzal is not liable for accidents related to misuse, alcohol consumption, or failure to follow safety instructions.

Pool use is at your own risk; no lifeguard on duty.

No glass in or around the pool.

Keep exterior doors closed and locked at night.

Report any damage or malfunction immediately. If caused by guests, repair or replacement costs may be deducted from the security deposit.

Turn off AC when leaving rooms and do not operate AC with windows or doors open.

Do not leave food or sugary drinks uncovered indoors or outdoors overnight due to wildlife.

Casa del Quetzal has liability insurance in accordance with NOM-07-TUR-2002.

Perfect Getaway!

The views are among the best I've seen from a vacation villa. The chef made fabulous meals each day for our group. Some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. The 5 king suites are roomy, comfortable and decorated beautifully with all the unique Mexican tiles. This was our second stay here and we will definitely return!

Incredibly gorgeous property with views to die for. Staff is friendly and wonderful. Chef Jorge’s meals exceeded our expectations. Claudio was a joy and always helpful. House was super clean every day (thanks Gloria!). Owner does a great job keeping in touch regarding the reservation and connecting guests with concierge services.

AMAZING

Our stay at Casa del Quetzal definitely surpassed our expectations. The online picture did no justice, the view was amazing and everything was beautiful. The best part of everything was definitely the staff. Claudio and Jorge made our stay 100x better with their excellent service and attentiveness in every way. This was a gathering of 5 couples, a few of which gathered here 17 years ago. Needless to say, Casa del Quetzal was magnificent then, so we came back again. Everything about this place, including the staff the quality and level of service was absolutely incredible, and I promise, we will not wait 17 years again to return. Excellent experience

We enjoyed an extended family vacation with 10 of us staying at Casa del Quetzal. The home is absolutely beautiful, and the views are incredible. The staff at the home were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The chef Jorge prepared fabulous meals and graciously worked around all of the food restrictions in our group. The owners of the home were easy to reach, incredibly prompt in responding to my questions before and during our trip, and are absolutely lovely. If you are looking for a beautiful home in a great location with wonderful staff, you will get it at Casa del Quetzal!

Fabulous Stay

Where to begin! Everything about this property was amazing. Prior to arrival, Laura, the host made sure that we had everything we needed. She was thorough about everything from airport arrivals to best places to eat. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party. Jorge, the chef was unbelievably talented. Claudio, the house man/bartender made sure we were well tended to. Gloria, the housekeeper, never missed a spot and worked around us. We truly were spoiled during our stay.

Beautiful, stylish, special homes with wonderful hospitality

This house is even more striking in person. For those that love the architecture and style of old Mexico with great vistas and modern conveniences, this is the perfect escape. Each large en suite bedroom has its own color palette and artwork, and the views and common spaces were lovely. The only negative - and it is a significant one - is that the construction noises from the house being built next door are really bad and start early 6 days a week. I would return to this house without question, just *after* the construction is complete.

Fantastic family vacation

We met for my mother's 85th birthday, with my brothers, our spouses and our kids and some inlaws. Such a great event. We've stayed in other villas in Conchas Chinas but this one remains the stand-out favorite. There's something extremely special about the open spaces and the excellent views. And the staff are as amazing as the physical space. they make every moment easy and beautiful. We cant say enough about this fantastic villa. The owners are welcoming and communicate extremely well. The location is gorgeous, secure, safe and beautiful. The villa spectacular, much better even than the beautiful photos, and the staff bring it all into a fantastic experience. This is the third family gathering we've had here in eleven years and we will keep coming back! Conchas chinas is filled with beautiful villas, but this one is the most special of all.

Amazing Girls Trip!

We went to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate our 50th birthdays. There were 6 of us at the house. The layout is great! Each bedroom having it's own bathroom was so nice. All of the rooms were spacious with King beds. There were several sitting areas so you could be with the group or find a quiet spot. We arrived to margaritas, homemade guacamole and tortilla chips. It was so nice to have the kitchen stocked with the items from the grocery list we provided. If we ran out of anything, Jorge would pick it up for us. Gloria cleaned our rooms and made our beds every day. Jorge cooked brunch and dinner, the food was great! Claudio served the meals, filled up our wine glasses and made other drinks. We felt so spoiled and wish we would have stayed longer. We are looking forward to coming back for another stay!

Wonderful Experience at Casa Del Quetzal

We have been to PVR five times over the past ten years; each time staying in a Villa with a staff. Casa Del Quetzal was our best stay of all of them! The property is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. It is very spacious but does not loose a charming comfortable feel. The view from the hill of Concha Chinas is breathtaking, particularly from the infinity pool. The beds were great and we didn’t hear a single complaint about their comfort from the six adults in our party. When going to bed, the air conditioning had no problem bringing the temps down to perfect sleeping conditions. That has been a problem in some of the other Villas we have stayed in. Trying to sleep in a hot room is miserable. Now, saving the best for last, was the staff that took care of our every need. Claudio and Jorge made meal time a treat. We have never had such good food! Not only was it tasty, but it was served and plated in a way that is customarily only found in nice restaurants. Jorge, the chef, having been professionally trained in culinary school, resulted in our salads, entrees and finishing with our desserts at dinner were perfect (be prepared to overeat). Breakfasts were also spectacular with plenty of choices for everyone. Communication was another strong plus of this property in that the owner was always available to answer any questions we had (thank you Laura).Bottom line, you will not be disappointed if you book this Villa!!

AMAZING experience for group of 12 friends

I have organized many group trips around the world and this was hands down one of the best experiences I've had thanks to our host Laura and the villa staff. We were a group of 12 women in our late 20s/early 30s celebrating not only a bachelorette but also a couple birthdays. From the time we confirmed our booking to our arrival and then to our departure, Laura and the staff made every effort to help with anything we needed. Though the villa only sleeps 10 people, we were able to add a connected apartment for an reasonable extra fee. The villa was beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and well maintained. We spent most of our time around the infinity pool where the VIEWS of the bay were unparalleled. We even did an impromptu yoga/workout session in the courtyard and the villa had plenty of mats and light weights. Claudio was available for anything we needed, whether it was a margarita by the pool or even a water taxi ride after a hike we did nearby! And Jorge blew everyone's minds with his 3 course meals which were beautifully plated and delicious. In fact, during our long weekend, we chose only to eat one meal out in town. In summary, do not hesitate to stay here!! We only hope we can return again soon.

Beautiful Villa with an awesome staff

Our family of 7 had an absolutely wonderful stay at Casa del Quetzal. The villa was very clean and well kept throughout with a gorgeous view of the ocean, mountains to the left, and the town to the right. We had everything that we needed during our stay. Each bedroom was spacious with comfortable king size beds and its own beautiful bathroom. The open courtyard was lovely, and the living area, dining room, and kitchen were inviting, well decorated with a nice layout. There are also several sitting areas around to relax in. The staff were outstanding and took great care of us. Laura, our host, was easily accessible and answered all our questions in a very timely manner well before our arrival and all throughout our stay. She made sure each and everyone of us had everything we needed. Alberto and the staff with Mexitravel were very helpful with transportation and excursions. Chef Jorge wowed us with his delicious creations at every meal. His dishes were wonderfully presented and much better that what we had at restaurants in town. Claudo took great care of us making our drinks, serving our meals, and making sure everything in the house was in working order and to our liking. The housekeeper was very friendly and kept all of our rooms and the entire villa very clean and tidy everyday. We felt at home and pampered during our stay. We loved our time at Casa del Quetzal! We would definitely stay here again and again.

Beautiful vacation home

We had an incredible vacation at the Casa del Queztal. The property is beautiful and clean, the views are incredible and peaceful and the pictures do not capture how well it is appointed. The staff is very attentive, particularly Jorge who is a true gourmet chef and made the most amazing meals! We were also helped with various parts of our travel through Mexitravel (also arranged via our host) and they did an amazing job. Overall this is one of the loveliest places that we’ve ever stayed at!

Beautiful property and vacation spot!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing! My goal for the trip was a beautiful space to rest and relax in, and the property delivered. The chef was also a highlight of our stay, with every meal being delicious! Each of the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the property allowed for beautiful views at all times of day. Lovely Stay - Definitely Recommend!

Casa de Quetzal is an ideal property for medium-sized groups (6-10 guests) of adult visitors to Puerto Vallarta. This is our third time staying there. The upstairs main bedroom is lovely (and large), and the two bedrooms on the ground floor are also comfortable and spacious. The house staff and property manager were all great and easy to coordinate with. We felt very well taken care of the whole time. The views from the house are amazing, the beaches are a 30 minute downhill walk, and the house is just a short cab ride back up the hill from the beaches, Zona Romantica, malecón, etc. Would recommend!

How does fantastic ten years ago get even better?

Ten year reunion for my impending 60th birthday. Family and friends from east to west coast US converged on Casa Quetzal, and it was even better than last time. Beautiful property, on the top of Conchas Chinas, stunning views over all Banderas Bay. Beautiful all day long every day. The house is big, classic Mexican hacienda style gracious villa. Wide open living areas that open to roof tops, tree tops and bay. Brick boveda ceilings that make dining broad and grand. Tile floors, wooden shutters... classic gracious home. The only thing better than the villa is the staff. Smart friendly talented people, there to make your trip as comfortable and pleasant as possible. My mother talked for the last ten years about coming back, and when we planned this reunion she wondered "do you think they'll still bring margaritas and guacamole in the afternoon at the pool?" Turns out they still do. And take wonderful care of you at all other times too. Gloria the housekeeper is friendly and welcoming. She manages to keep the large villa perfectly clean without interrupting anyone. Claudio, the master of the house, watches over everyone and makes sure all goes smoothly. He's also a masterful server for amazing meals. It's hard to serve that many people at a big dinner that well and that quickly and keep up with everyone's needs. He makes it seem effortless. He did an amazing job and let us relax and have a great experience, night after night. And then the chef, Jorge. WOW. Great welcoming dinner the first night, with arranged leftovers for late arrivals perfectly plated and ready to go. We had a big birthday dinner and wanted something not on the menu. "Could we get filet mignon and lobster tails?" "Sure no problem". Perfectly done. Breakfasts for varied group, including adult vegetarian, finicky teenager vegetarian, adult gluten free... One night we asked for simple taco dinner. Jorge said "sure and for desert what about simple chocolate mousse?" Tacos so good we had them three more nights in a row (varied every night). And the "simple" chocolate mousse you could post on instagram I could go on and on. One shout out to "La Jefe" Gabriella, the house manager who leads the house. She helps set up your trip and make sure things are ready to go well. Available for problems too, reassuring. She makes it all work We wanted a repeat rich memorable family experience. We got even better than we hoped

Magical house, incredible staff

This house is even better in person. Design and layout are beautiful, the views are truly magical! The house staff that we interacted with were wonderful, extremely helpful and professional. They made sure we were comfortable, and answered any questions we had. Jorge, the chef, went above and beyond for cooking and all food requests we had. We did not have great communication with the outside concierge service, and found the house manager to be much more helpful with requests and any questions we needed answered prior o and during the trip. Make sure if you are checking out late, that you clarify what that entails for luggage and space, we had some slight miscommunication regarding this our last day. Would absolutely stay here again and will be recommending to anyone wanting to visit Puerto Vallarta in the future.

Amazing Spring Break

We just returned from Casa Del Quetzal and our only wish is we had stayed longer. Gabriella was excellent with communication from the time we booked, Blanca was an amazing concierge and stocked the house for us before arrival, helped book COVID tests, car service etc. Once on property Claudio took such great good care of us and Gloria was wonderful every morning with tidying our rooms, making beds, fresh towels, and the kids loved her towel animals daily. Our chef, Jorge, was hands down AMAZING. The care and thought he put into our meals each day was above and beyond. He made meals for us adults, and completely separate meals for the picky kids. I can’t say enough great things about his talent in the kitchen, and beauty in plating the meals too. His sauces from scratch are insanely flavorful. We felt so spoiled by him and Claudio every day and cannot wait to go back and stay here again.

Laura and Steve (We) are the new owners of Casa del Quetzal. We reside in Toronto, Canada but lived for many years in Chicago, IL. Laura was born in Mexico, Steve in Canada, and our children in the USA. We used to joke calling ourselves a NAFTA family... somehow calling ourselves a CUSMA, USMCA, or NAFTA 2.0 family does no longer have the same ring!

Many years ago, we rented and had a very intimate wedding at this property (13 people in total- lucky number!). Our immediate family from Canada, Poland, and Mexico stayed with us for one week. This was one of the happiest times in our lives and the only and last place where our parents were together. We never, in our wildest dreams, imagined that we would some day own this beautiful property. We feel very humbled and fortunate for that. We would like to invite you to experience the magic that brought us to keep visiting Casa Quetzal for a hallmark anniversary and ultimately to buy this place.

Casa del Quetzal is built and decorated in a traditional and elegant Mexican hacienda-style. It is located in a quiet location almost at the top of a hill-side which allows for breathtaking unobstructed views of the Banderas Bay. All 5 bedrooms/ensuites are airconditioned and have beautiful views of the ocean. The infinity swimming pool is heated and is a wonderful place to exercise or just relax. We are fortunate to count with very experienced and excellent staff: Gloria (housekeeper) and Claudio (houseman) have been working at Casa Quetzal for many years. They will help to make your stay comfortable and unforgettable. During your vacation, you may choose to relax and isolate from the world thinking that you are in paradise or take a short Uber drive to downtown Puerto Vallarta where you will find everything that this world-renowned destination has to offer for you!
