This property was such a magical place to stay at Christmas time. Our family of six along with our two labs enjoyed everything this property had to offer. We spent our days walking into downtown. We happened to be there for Victorian Christmas. We found a lovely mobile massage therapist who set up in the loft with plenty of room to give us the most relaxing massages. We cooked every evening and found the kitchen to be adequately stocked with everything we needed. Our host, Judy was accessible by text and quickly responded to any questions. Hope to visit again soon!

Although the living area and kitchen were a little tight for seven adults, this place was great!! It was within walking distance of all of the restaurants, shops and bars on the main street. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. The host answered our many questions promptly. Highly recommend!

The house is cute, nicely decorated. A/C is only wall units, so the upstairs was too hot, which made our stay more uncomfortable. The house is older and in need of some repairs.

Kind Hostess and Clean, Comfortable Home

Judy is a kind, thoughtful, and responsive hostess and her home and yard are delightful—sparkling clean, spacious, and tastefully outfitted with lovely linens that rival the best hotels. We enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and prepared several meals on site. We were very comfortable and, thanks to Judy, enjoyed a perfect Nevada City weekend.

This house is beautiful. The weather was super hot, so that certainly did not add to our trip. Our Grandchildren did. We are thinking of Christmas here. The only draw back is the traffic outside. Seems a new stop sign has been put in front of the house. We loved the fire pit in the evening. Lots of family bonding. Close to town. Overall, we certainly would stay here again.

Great for a family

We stayed for a wedding weekend with family. This location is walkable to downtown while also being far enough from any noise. The outdoor space was so relaxing!

Great place to stay, centrally located in Nevada City

Nice home for a get-away to experience Nevada City, only a five-minute walk away from the fun and charming downtown. Quiet neighborhood, great for walks. A spacious fenced-in back yard too! The home is nice, with well-furnished rooms. The master suite is really spacious and the upstairs quarters are nicely situated with a cozy sitting area and TV in addition to the large bed and single bed with the trundle bed. The other room is fairly small, just enough to fit a bed for two. All with nice lighting. We visited with two families (7 total) and had enough beds for two couples and three kids. The home has a small living room, it’s a nice sitting area for three to four people comfortably. We had a couple of small issues (stove, heater) and were able to communicate with the property manager in a reasonable time to get them resolved. We were thankful they gave us a slightly later check-out from the posted 10am time. A cozy Nevada City get-away, appreciated our time here!

Making Memories

We celebrated a belated Christmas here with our son and his fiancé. Very charming house with a great backyard and unique tidbit's around the house. It was an easy walk to downtown and highly recommend Friar Tucks restaurant!

THE BEST

We just spent the weekend at H&D and it was truly the best. Everything about this gem is so charming! We used the fire pit for coffee in the morning (there’s two different style coffee makers), the king bed was super comfy, it was a good walk to get into the cute little historic downtown for coffee, farmers market, pizza, beer, you name it! The house was very clean and had so many cute personal touches. •Board games, pack n play for baby, kitchen stuff, extra linens, toiletries. We spent a couple hours enjoying sunshine in the yard and loved every second of being here. NV City and H&D retreat… we will be back! Thank you.

Great spot

Pros: SUPER cute house and wonderful little backyard. Very comfortable and felt like home. Great location to walk to downtown. Slight cons: Delayed communication (as compared to previous vrbo experiences) re check in process. However, called the property mgmt company and got the info asap. Outdoor fire pit did not work but may have been due to recent rain. Fire alarm went off (due to kids steamy shower and not fully closing bathroom door) but property manager was very responsive and followed up to ensure all was well. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Sweet, Comfortable Home

This is a darling home, with plenty of beds for several people. It's a short walk to the darling downtown area where you'll find restaurants, shops and wine tasting.

Great Getaway

My husband, daughter and son-in-law took a trip to Nevada City and stayed at this charming home. The home was perfect in every way. It was spotless and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and the linens were of very fine quality. We can't wait to go back again so we can enjoy the fire pit in the backyard, too much rain this time! It was a short walk into town, which on Saturdays has a wonderful farmer's market. There was no short of great places to eat, drink and shop!
