Stairway to Heaven - Meredith Lodging

The soaring floor-to-ceiling windows of this oceanfront home bring you fantastic views of the surf and sand of Roads End beach in north Lincoln City. With five bedrooms and three baths, you can invite friends and family to join you for a relaxing, oceanside retreat. The main living space is on the second floor for panoramic views from the clifftop location; huge windows line the western side of the home, bringing in light and endless beauty. The cool, contemporary leather furniture, flat-screen TV and gas fireplace give you and your guests a great place to sit back and relax. The newly remodeled kitchen has stainless steel appliances, new floors and cabinets and island seating. Two third-floor bedrooms are enhanced by a bonus room that includes a TV and gas fireplace for added enjoyment. Outdoors you can walk for miles or enjoy exploring the rocky point of Cascade Head. This was the first Oregon Coast trip for our family, and I can’t say enough about this location. We woke up Saturday morning to a full ocean view and grey whales coming up to the shore line. The entire weekend was an unforgettable experience and we are hoping to make this stay a family tradition. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet, beautiful getaway!

Perfect for our party of 12

Some reviews discuss that the house is "dated": that might be true, but who cares? There were some minor issues in need of repair, but nothing major. Other reviews commented that the house was lacking supplies but we did not find that to be an issue. Besides, if something is lacking there's a store a mile down the road that most things can be purchased if needed. The price was right, the view fantastic, and they layout was perfect for 4 couples, 2 teenagers, and 2 younger kids. I also received prompt communication from the property manager when I had a question. Would definitely stay here again.

Dreamy views

This house is great for a big group or small. It certainly is dated and could use a facelift. However, the views and proximity to the beach are outstanding! The furniture was comfortable and the house felt clean. If you like to cozy up I’d suggest bringing your own blankets for sitting on the couch and looking out at the ocean. There are multiple levels to those house. A lot of one step up/down. Main living is on the second floor. The location is great and we had a great time!

Not stairway to heaven

Shower on main floor is out of order, horrible smell when you walk into the home, basement had flooding, carpet was soaked and there was mold in the corner of the baseboard. Blinds downstairs were out of order . Sofa bed was briken. eere

Renter Beware

Wet carpet downstairs with mushrooms growing. Musty smell permeates house. Crawl space door was off..someone had been sleeping on the cardboard down there. The listing pictures do not even closely resemble the reality. Carpet is old, stained and smelly.

Enjoyed our stay, with some small issues

The good: -Spectacular view of the beachfront! -Private access to the beach down a flight of stair -Close to downtown and lots of other attractions -Quiet neighborhood The bad: - Musty smell throughout the house - Dirty stains on bed duvet cover - Rusted/unusable BBQ grill - Broken coffee maker First impression was not great as we were hit with a strong musty smell as we walked into the house. We opened the doors and windows to air out the house. Photos were a little deceiving as the house is older than what the photos showed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The general consensus of this house from the family was a 6/10 stars.

Photos didn’t represent condition of home

While the location and view are phenomenal, the home’s condition was awful. The towels were old and stained, dishes were dirty and chipped, there were trip hazards everywhere. The house is in need of some serious cosmetic updating, which makes the home feel dirty. One bathtub even had duct tape on it. Structurally, some doors would not stay closed, and some stairs were slanted. Also several windows do not have screens.

Misleading

The pictures on line look nothing like each other. Light fixtures were not secured, sand on furniture, holes in bedding sheets, stains on carpet, patch work in downstairs bathroom, patch work is coming off, limited cooking materials. I also had an issue requesting the garbage be picked up from the previous tenants was not taken seriously. Disappointed we paid as much as we did for the poor service and facilities. Great Location, Old House

Yesterday the Pacific was like glass. We saw fishing boats, whales, seals, birds, joggers, surfers, and swimmers. The location is great - close to restaurants, grocery, casino, and the beach. The photographs of this house were very well done - except . . . The hose nozzle is broken and you will need to periodically wash the salt from the windows. The light over the bathtub in the upper bathroom flickers wildly, the temperatures on the cooktop units run WAY HOT. There isn’t a complete set of measuring cups. There are many forks but only about 2 table knives. Only one of the shelves in the refrigerator door has the bar that keeps things from sliding off and it is cracked. There are no dish cloths and only one sponge. No coffee filters, but three coffee pots. The carpeting is so old it is wrinkled. The upper bathtub is patched and missing pieces. I have no complaints about the beds. The lower part of the steps to the beach do not have any hand rails. The furniture in the living areas is leather, but old. We would have grilled if the grill looked half decent. There is basically no deck. There weren’t enough trash bags left. The outside of the house looks run down. We have stayed in VRBO rentals many times. This property is over priced in our opinion.

We had such a great stay here. The space was exactly as described, super clean, and the vaulted great room made everything feel open and relaxing from the moment we walked in.The ocean views were beautiful and unobstructed, and having private beach access made it even better. We spent a lot of time just walking along the beach, listening to the waves, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere—it was exactly what we needed to slow down and reset.Everything throughout the stay felt smooth and easy, and the host was great with communication. Overall, it was a comfortable, relaxing experience.We’d definitely come back again.
