Very nice for families and couples. Excellent location 50 minutes drive from Halifax. A true paradise.

We were impressed with this bright and spacious home. We had the best family vacation week! Cant wait till they have a new ping pong table in the family room basement. Despite the NS drought, we swam every day, and enjoyed the trickle of a river for catching minnows, a turtle and toads. We thought it was a great week in a great place that became our home for a week.

Nice lake and location. Water was clean and warm. Water access was could be made easier.

Over all the cottage was nice and the location was great but the cottage was lacking in a few aerie's, ie cleaning and maintenance, The toilets especially had not been cleaned, two of the three toilets needed repair, boards on the lower deck need replacement. There were no cleaning supplies or toilet paper left out for our use, after a few day we had to contacted the owner who gave us permission to purchase what we needed and he would reimburse us the cost which he did.

Fantastic

The cottage was amazing with a spectacular view ! A very quiet area surrounded by trees and the lake water was warm ! Great for all water sports , whetet kayaking, paddle boarding or swimming ! The was was quite warm and comfortable !The owner was always very responsive to any questions we had and took care of everything immediately Highly recommend If you are looking for a great place for a vacation or just to relax a few days, this is the place to be !

Needed a good cleaning. Oven was disgusting looked like it was never cleaned. Dead bugs and cobwebs everywhere.Decks in poor condition some with boards rotting. Host knew when we were arriving,but place wasnt aired out or dehumifier turned on,basement was very musty smelling and damp. Property has been allowed to become very rundown,which is to bad because it has great potential.Just not cared for.Host was very dismissive of my complaints,stated that I should have contacted him when I arrived with any issues. I fail to see what he was going to do about it when we were already there. It required a big clean and lots of repairs which couldnt be done while we occupied it. Not a good experience for people coming to Nova Scotia

Great location, could use a few upgrades for 5 stars

Overall we had a great stay and the owner was quick to respond and even took the time to meet up. The property has a couple of really nice decks and it seems the prevailing wind is towards the house which has a nice cooling effect, and will push boats back towards shore in case legs are tired. Many sights are within 25-60 driving if the property. Cleaning could have been better and the lack of wi-if (was not listed as amenity, but we felt it’s a normal expectation nowadays) was disappointing especially for the kids. And there was a paddleboat and normal little boat but no lifevests or paddles. Small upgrades like these Will make it a 5-star property.

Roomy, private and great base of operations

This property is a lovely location to simply stay at and visit with family, or use as a base of operations to explore the south shore. The first thing you see when you walk in is a lovely wall of windows overlooking the lake. The area is extremely quiet and private through the week. On the weekend, there was a bit more activity on the lake, but all was quiet through the night. We were a party of six - five adults and one teen. The size of the property worked perfectly, with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms accommodating privacy as needed. The kitchen, dining, and living room areas were roomy, and the dining table was big enough for lots of board games. Our host was great when we ran into a little trouble with the water not working. (Due to a power outage from a storm - not the property's fault!) He promptly sent someone out and all was fine very quickly. We happily recommend this place to others. If Internet access is important for you, top up your data plan and you'll be good to go. Cell reception is great there.
