Cozy Garden Suite w/ Private Entrance

Situated in charming Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver, this suite is centrally located close to Downtown, Commercial Drive, Chinatown, Gastown, restaurants, breweries, parks and grocery stores. Our cozy, open concept suite features private entrance, a queen bed, full bathroom, loveseat, HDTV, eating area, mini fridge, and kitchenette.

Our home is located in the 3rd most walkable neighborhood in Vancouver and is a cyclist's paradise, with access to transit close by.

Our place is in a quaint urban residential neighbourhood, centrally located close to Main Street Skytrain Station, Waterfront Canada Line, False Creek Sea Wall, Gastown, Chinatown. Convenience stores on the block, coffee shops and local craft breweries around the corner and mid-size grocery store close by.

Many guests who stay with us often continue their journey on a cruise ship departing from Vancouver Port. Based on our own cruising experience and guest's feedback, it's usually perfectly fine to arrive at the port earlier than the time listed on your boarding pass. Cruise terminals often begin processing passengers ahead of schedule, and arriving a bit early can mean shorter lines and a more relaxed start to your trip. However, it's always advised to check with your cruise line.

There are stairs, with handrail for safety, from street level to access our guest street. You will walk approximately 12 steps. Unfortunately our suite is not wheelchair accessible.

While the suite is not equipped with a full kitchen, it has a microwave, coffee maker, kettle, ovenette, toaster and 2 seat dining table.

Other things to note: limited street parking, with some restrictions (resident permit only and 2hrs Monday to Friday) on the block and throughout the neighbourhood.

Other things to note:
- We live upstairs and as in any home, sound can travel. While we strive to keep noise levels down, we do have two young children.
- For everyone's health and comfort, our property is a smoke free environment. Smoking or vaping is not permitted in the suite or anywhere on the property.
- Privacy/ quiet - our neighbours are within close proximity, privacy is of utmost importance. We ask guests not to sit on the back deck. Quiet hours 10pm to 7am
- Sorry, our suite is not set up to accommodate pets or children.

Perfect location and very thorough check-in instructions. It was close enough to downtown to walk but still in a good neighborhood. It was exactly what I needed for a short stay.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay here. We were able to walk to areas where we could find restaurants. The neighborhood was quiet. The room was as described. For some reason, we didn't get our initial email telling us how to get in to the unit but it was resolved .

Awesome accommodation. Cozy and quiet after a day of touring. Love the thoughtful extra touches of toothbrushes, toiletries, and other amenities. (Anything you might have forgotten!). Uber can take you anywhere you need to go from here. Commmunciations with Colin and Beverly were quick and helpful. Thank you for the recommendation- Wilder Snail Grocery and coffee was a great way to start the day. Would highly recommend!

This property is great. Has several stairs up and a little walk around the back to the door of the unit that you need to be aware of but was great. Does not have a full kitchen, but has the necessary equipment for coffee and to keep a few things cold. We were more interested in trying local food so not an issue for us. Communication was great and owners were very understanding when we didn’t put alarm code in quick enough one night and alarm went off. Would definitely recommend.

Nice quiet neighborhood with a private entrance. The entrance porch would have been great for enjoying a cup of coffee. An adorable coffee shop 1/2 block down the street made our stay complete. This host showed attention to cleanliness.

The location was good for the World Cup. Great places to eat within walking distance. The bed wasn’t that great, but was ok. Ok water pressure in the shower. For this weekend of the World Cup, it was pricey for what we got. But that could be supply/demand. Overall, 4 stars.

Very clean, well stocked with toiletries/ supplies in case you need. It is a cute, quiet little suite! They write up excellent instructions and details on any information you may need for your stay.

Comfortable with lovely garden

We stayed here twice and it was quiet and very convenient to a bus stop. The place was comfortable and the shower was hot. Beverly and Colin were very good about answering any questions we had. Would stay there again.

Great place and convenient.

The space was clean and homely, with a lovely hamper basket available full of essentials. We had a slight issue with the check in details not coming through via email prior to arrival however the host was quick with responding and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place for a comfortable stay in a Convenient location for downtown Vancouver.

Strathcona Gem

Perfect property- neat as a pin- and walkable to pretty much everything in Vancouver. The hosts gave me many ideas on what to do and where to go as it was my first time in town. The neighborhood is a happening one, with lots of renovation and a great coffee shop a block away. If I am lucky enough to get back to Vancouver, I'll stay here again.

Very nice, close to bus stop, Beverly and Colin were prompt with responses to questions. Front sidewalk steps were a bit tight with bags.

While it seems to be a historic neighborhood and the property felt safe, you had to be careful which streets you walked, especially after dark. The area is gentrified but there are also a lot of run-down properties. This apartment was fine itself.

This is a clean and pretty nicely equipped place. The stairs from the street were a challenge for us as 81 year olds with mobility challenges, but we should have asked before booking. Also how the alarm system was to be worked with was not explained anywhere.Suitcase stand would help

Great location. Communication could be improved.

Overall the location was fantastic. Clean. As described. Close to everything. We did have an issue with communication. Communication was not done through the app and it was not expected via email. This caused us to miss our first night. The only other area of concern is parking. The posting said that there was parking, but there is really not. It is very limited in availability and also limited to 2 hours.

We've lived here for over 15 years and are excited to host you in our charming and cozy garden suite.

Strathcona stands out for it's rich history as one of the City of Vancouver's oldest residential neighbourhoods, known for its diverse community, heritage homes, vibrant art scenes, parks, community gardens and cultural institutions. While taking a stroll through our unique neghbourhood, you'll notice colourful gardens, hip new retailers, local craft breweries and outstanding dining options for every occasion. Our place is walking distance to trendy Commercial Drive to the east and Gastown, Yaletown and Downtown to the west.
