Cozy up and hunker down: Vrbo data shows cabin stays are trending in 2021
AUSTIN, Texas – February 1, 2021 – Families looking to unwind and recharge are choosing cabins, according to travel demand data from Vrbo®. The vacation rental company’s 2021 Trend Report reveals demand for cabins increased nearly 25% year-over-year, likely driven by booming interest in the great outdoors and non-urban destinations amid the pandemic.
“There’s so much to love about cabins, especially now. In addition to providing a sense of comfort and charm, cabins are built for quality family time playing board games, warming up by the fire and enjoying nature,” said Vrbo travel expert, Melanie Fish. “Vrbo has been adding to its selection of cabins for 25 years, so it’s great to see this traditional vacation home mainstay really having a moment, with people discovering or rediscovering them for a family road trip, a Flexcation or a Valentine’s Day romantic getaway.”
